  1. We knew something was on the cards for some time but the announcement was only made today. A lot of fans here have been in the dark as to the nature of what to expect or when some kind of confirmation would arrive. I've been reading up on all manner of pages the last hour, TWTD, BBC Sport ITFC, Tractors Boys.com, even the Pink Un Norwich City message board to gain opinion, it's still relatively early and a lot to take in. Why the hell this didn't come to practice before now is a mystery. These American owners we're looking at, I don't think it's a name for everyone and people may
  2. Dustbin thread , we're known as 'binners' by Norwich fans, but enough about them. So we beat your rivals today, wasn't anything pretty in fact it were mostly dire and uninspiring but imagine you'd be pleased to see them beat. We're TRYING to get back to the Championship again but on today's evidence may have to wait a while longer. Sorry about your loss today serioiusly I'd want you to do well and see Bristol City back in the top flight (a vague recollection from early schooldays) Any consolation I'd expect Rovers to be a League Two club by the summer, they had to win today
  3. r.e this topic : Go for a BaByliss Precision Power mains clipper. Picked one up from The Range chain of stores a week or two back, £ 17.99. Has eight to ten separate grades to use including a 0.5 although would never use that even for sideburns. Really it's very good, seriously, if you're looking for a good hair clipper, nothing fancy but efficient and at an affordable cost this is a very good purchase. Used it already and more than satisfied. Comes with cleaning brush, oil and own storage pouch. Don't go to barbers now, last time must have been early 2000's. 9 or 10 poun
  4. From Russia with Love was arguably the best portrayal of Flemings character, and a time when the creator was still alive I think. I used to watch a lot of James Bond films and grew up with Moore and Dalton while at school. Just not the same now is it, OK Craig is good but spoiled today by CGI effects and implausible stunts and action sequences. I was upset to hear of Connery's passing. Roger Moore was bad enough but two in such a relatively short space of time is not on. What I liked about Sean was he kept himself to himself, wasn't one for media attention and worked tireless
  5. I know "can we play you every week" is something of a cliche but they just might be on to something. Didn't make the trip over there but first half was poor, after the interval we raised our game and were deserved winners. Top of the league is good and all very well but it's like two games we've played along with others, a bit soon to be getting carried away. Some (of our) supporters are getting excited and while not to knock your own, but some of our fans will do a dance every time the fridge light comes on. We have Rochdale next, I can see three wins out of three but that
  6. Imagine you'd be pleased about today. They never really got started and we deserved the win and place in the next round. Odd thing is they beat us here in the League last season and we were going to play them over there in the return fixture in March until all games were stopped with the pandemic thing. Thought we would lose today, we don't do well in cup games but Lambert surprised many by putting out a strong side and the players seemed determined and created a number of opportunities. The second round draw is believe a North / South divide so we'll play someone similar som
  7. Oddly enough was reading this result last night. Looked up the 76/77 season as we finished third back then and lo and behold on the opening weekend City saw a victory at Highbury. First thought was well done, seriously I was impressed. I don't remember your club in the top flight, you'd be going back to what 1980 and had only just began with primary schooling. Above posts made a valid point, it were the famous summer heatwave and still two points for a victory, how easy the memory fades. Hope people are keeping well on here, not missing the game yet but there's a certain void wh
  8. Game's been called off, probably just as well as we'd only see another defeat they've already beaten us once this season. Some have booked tickets with Great Western to have made the trip over there but are hoping for reimbursement. Not sure if Coronavirus if a viable reason to offer a refund right now but hopefully given the circumstances and growing concern of subject matter those who have paid will be entitled to refunds. Wouldn't have gone personally it's hardly a short journey and besides watching Town at the moment is hardly an enjoyable experience. I wonder to what extent
  9. We play these tomorrow. Not to piss on anyone's expectations here but wouldn't be that surprised if they came away with three points. Gave the yearly obligatory 'wave the white flag' in the FA Cup and made a mockery of the competitions integrity yet again with the Coventry replay a few days ago, seriously we were dire. Hardly tried and if we play like that tomorrow then may as well award Rovers the three points and save another shameful excuse for putting on a game. Memory must be ageing or something as can't recall right now the last time we played BRFC in the league or even a
  10. I have this game on DVD somewhere but unable to view it right now. Remember France '98 well, incredible to think there's millions out there who won't remember or appreciate the games involved, even though it seems quite recent I think we take our age for granted sometimes. The Owen goal was something special, maybe it was as good as Diego's in 86 but he was something of an unknown quantity at the time (Michael Owen) and didn't get the adulation it properly deserved. For some reason I don't remember much of the disallowed goal towards the end, seem to acknowledge a similar thing happen
  11. Sorry your team missed out on the final day this afternoon. Derby and Middlesbrough had to drop points and City had to win on Humberside. It didn't come to pass but don't be too hard on yourselves. Gave the supporters a lot to get involved with at Ashton Gate this season and while it wasn't meant to be you can take heart from what the team has accomplished. The play -offs are a horrible experience when you lose (I've been involved with them enough times) but at least there's an opportunity there and it extends the season for another week or two. Wished Derby hadn't taken sixth
