  1. To me he played more central so perhaps getting used to that whereas if he stays on the wing he can use his undoubted speed to attack the defender and get crosses in.

Lets not spoil the result by turning this into Manning vs the board/Tinnion/Nige. Credit to all concerned for

They’ll probably win 5 in a row now it’ll mean nothing. Proper Bristol City style!

But that should set us up nicely for next season. We have to put Pearson to the back of our minds and support the team, club and Manning. Lansdown and Tinnion? Hopefully Lansdown will support LM with signings and support. We'll get a feel for how things will go even as early as the preseason games. Lets hope City get a preseason game against a Prem side to get interest going.

Worth noting he only played 30 minutes coming off the bench.

Broke clear on the right and crossed for the 4th goal and got clear and slotted it past their advancing keeper for the 5th. Looks to have good ball dribbling skills and is pretty quick. Would like to see him and Conway as our 2 attackers.

Agree ref Vyner - he will become a senior leader now....to be fair to him he has been leading in that regard for most of the season....setting the example (albeit the OG!).

Whilst I agree with your assertion of finding a few experienced players from the lower leagues, I'm not entirely sure about rationale here. They are in the lower leagues for a reason. Look at Cornick and Memeti who have both struggled to make a transition that has added impact over a protracted period.

Teams on the cheap never pay off. Not saying we need to blow our biscuits on transfers....just getting some championship experience to assist the coaching and development of our younger players is key.

Agree that Manning will be here next season. The sooner this gets put to bed the better. Whilst completely uninspiring he does need to be given more than half a season to make any change. We are (all but) safe. Nothing to lose for the remainder.....would like to see him properly experiment over the last 9 games. Sadly I don't think he has the minerals.

Vyner should be captain as he is more of a leader than Knight. His position allows him to bark out instructions and encouragement. Then there's McCrorie who is vocal and can lead.

Poor old Cornick who dont af get some criticism should play up the middle at c/f with Conway or Wells circulating around him. He has shown that if given the ball to feet, he can shift his arse and out pace defenders. Get him muscled up in the close season and let him loose. Can't play in any other position effectively.

As to Mehmeti, he looks to have improved somewhat in recent games. Although on Saturday he did delay shooting a couple of times when he could have tested their keeper.

To answer those who asked: yes, Liam Manning was there in the directors box - as was Chris Hogg, Pat Mountain, Jon Lansdown and Marina Dolman amongst others.

Marina Dolman probably the most sensible of the lot.

Swindon's forwards infinitely superior in terms of technique in tight spaces and being able to beat a man. Lots of effort from ours and being able to run fast in a straight line (wow!) but that was it.

Yeboah's hold up play is non existent, even at this level, although our crude style ofbplay didn't help.

He had an appalling touch immediately before passing to set up the goal - a touch that would have seen us lose possession at first team level. His best contribution was winning a free kick outside our box on 85 mins when we were under the cosh which says it all.

The lad has an excellent attitude which gives him half a chance but he's miles off first team football. The lad who came on at centre forward for Swindon looked twice the player in the brief time he was on the pitch.

Morrison and Nelson are, at this stage, just quick.

So which game were you watching?

Duncan, Anderson, Slowey and Meerholz are the ones to keep an eye on.

    Imo.

Yeboah didn't look out of place when he made a quite a few  appearances for the first team via Pearsons reign. He was quick, direct and worked hard for the team and a pain for the opposition. In fact there was a buzz of expectation from the fans when he came on as sub.

That is difficult take. Particularly as it was Wes Burns that ripped us a new one.

Pring had worked hard and was tired. Why didn't Manning bring fresh legs on with Roberts to combat Burns?

    What!?

Do you seriously think Boris and Stanley are the answer?

    Whatever next?

Ed and David Milliband, and some hard Labour?

They wouldn't be any worse than the ***** weve got now.

    That's a bit false isn't it?

He's always been good at making runs for us.

He's scored 1 goal under Manning and 1 under Pearson this season so why are you trying to frame it as something different?

At the very least you have some recency bias going on here.

Since Manning has come in he has seen his minutes reduced quite significantly.

Here's his goal against Plymouth earlier on in the season as you have seemingly erased it from your memory bank.

Cornick is better than people give him credit. He needs to play in midfield and use his undoubted pace to make runs into the opponents box. Perhaps behind a front player ie Conway. As he did last night to great effect.

The things that surprised me about the dressing-rooms when Joe was mascot v Swindon was:

    • the players you thought were the loud ones often weren’t
    • the players are massively pampered - “Scotty, can you cut me some socks”, “Scotty, can you get me some tape”, etc
    • Cotts didn’t want any part of it.  When we went in, he went out. Then at 7:00 on the dot “right, time to leave, this is my sanctuary now” in a pleasant tone, but you knew it was time to get out
    • Albie and Frank the authority figures, when they asked a player to do something, the players did it.
    • Flint, like Cotts, wanted no part of it, basically stayed in the second part of the dressing room, out of sight throughout

But the main thing was how young they all looked / how old I felt! 😝

More of a side table I expect 😉

No its definately a cabinet. Its that big empty piece of furniture in the corner covered in dust.

Yeboah doesn’t have attitude issues above and beyond those of any other young pro footballer. I have been reliably informed he was just not up to the level LM demands in training, and so has moved back down to the 18’s. However Nelson has shown up in training and is keeping his place training with the seniors. Not all players paths are straightforward- and LM clearly has expectations all players have to meet. No idea if it’s the right way to do things, but he isn’t a “bad egg”.

He showed he was good enough with his appearances as a sub in Pearsons reign. He has natural pace, skilful and is aggressive. When he got on there was a noticeable buzz in the crowd. Some players dont always stand out in training. He's being wasted. We've just signed Dire yet a similar player is now in the U18s.

Just listened, not as bad as I feared (low bar).

Obvious from it that both King (which we knew) & James aren’t getting new contracts.

Think we all know Conway won’t sign another one, too.

Conway is overrated. He can be lazy. Doesn't react to situations quick enough. Wells still better for the team. Offers of £5million would sell asap..
