  1. Got 2 tickets for the opening group A game in Rome on Friday 12th June, told my son who I thought would be over the moon but didn't get the reply I thought I would, the reply was "oh, not sure about that, dont know who its gonna be". Have to pay for them by 18th Aug so he doesn't have long to decide or I might have to take the wife instead !!!
  2. Have seen Cotts quite a few times up at Cribbs, the first time was about 6 months after his sacking, I went up to him, shook his hand & thanked him for everything that he did, very polite man & grateful for my comments, left him alone all the other times. Many years ago before I matured & realised the error of my ways my dad use to take me to Eastville to watch the sags, I remember after 1 game dad wanted to catch up with his mates before we left so we were delayed for an hour or so, we then left to "pick up a Chinese" on the way home, we walked into a Chinese takeaway on Stapleton Rd to be met by Alan Warboys, Bruce Bannister & Frankie Prince waiting for their order, Frankie was leaning on the counter eating a battered sausage !!
  3. Went into the Maccy D's at Longwell Green on the way back to Yate with my boy, just rammed with ecstatic City fans both inside & going through the drive thru. After the birth of my 2 kids & my wedding day this was the best day of my life, I will never forget the tears in my eyes when KS put that ball in the net & cuddling my son & everybody else around me, AMAZING EXPERIENCE !!!
  4. Went in there today while I was down Cabot Xmas shopping with the wife, she was surprised to see the shop there as we "accidently" came across it !! We went in there about 330 & the staff were still unpacking & putting decorations up, I thought it was shut to be honest as we headed towards it. Went in to buy 1 of the white away kit shirts but they didn't have any at all so ended up with 2 calendars instead ! As with the shop at AG the full range is not on display or in stock unless you happen to be xxxxxxxxs or xxxxxxxxl. Asked 1 of the staff if they were getting any of the white shirts in & she said "we are getting a delivery on Dec 10th but we don't know what it will be"
  5. Going off on a bit of a tangent but still concerns the level & effectiveness of the stewards at our ground. I sit in block 28 of the Dolman right next to the singing section, I sit in row 15, so the second row of the upper section, a steward positioned himself in the bottom corner of the upper section right next to the "dividing wall" between us and the singing section. During half time he took great interest in a bunch of lads aged between 7 or 8 up to about 10 or 11 who were singing & shouting & generally messing about during the break, they were not causing any problems just young boys enjoying being at the game. After a few minutes he felt it necessary to come over & tell them to be quiet & sit down before 1 of them ended up crying & he would have to tell them to leave the ground because they were causing a disturbance. A minute or 2 after this a guy walked up from the concourse with a pint of Thatchers and sat in the front row of the upper about 4 foot away from the steward & in plain sight if him, the steward spotted the drink & promptly disappeared up the steps without dealing with the guy. A couple of games ago (can't remember which match) we had 2 young girl stewards (no problem with female stewards but they looked about 12 years old) stood in the same place at half time & 2 guys walked up the steps straight past them with a pint in each hand, nothing was said. Why tell off a bunch of boys enjoying themselves but allow others to break the law ?
  6. No, didn't think defeat but I did think WTF !!!
  7. I sit in block E28 of the Dolman where I've had a season ticket for the last 5 years with my lad who's now 16 & still in full time education. My ticket has gone up by £16 but my lads has gone from £99 to £150, now £51 may not be a lot of money to some people but to me that is a price increase on his ticket alone of over 50% which I think is disgusting, if everyone who sells a product suddenly increased their prices by 50% it would cripple the economy. It's not the amount of money that grates me the most, it's the massive % rise which really winds me up, my wages have not gone up by 50% in the last 10 years even if you add them all together !!! I have now got to break it to my lad that I'm seriously considering not renewing our tickets on principle alone.
  8. I don't usually like to generalise but on this occasion ........ The Welsh !!
  9. Went to Chase School For Boys in Mangotsfield, future players at the school the same time as me were Andy Llewelyn, Keith Curle, Gary Penrice, Shaun Pinker & several other lads who went on to play rugby for Bristol. Inter house football matches were always very intense & competitive !!!
