  1. Since we last had honesty from the Lansdowns?
  2. Now that is bullshit.......you should sell cars mate.
  3. Agree.....if only we had a frame of reference to observe....bad manager recruitment......throw bags of money at it to prove that they made the right decision......relatively decent cup run.......I guess we could end up risking breaching FFP rules 3 seasons after any manager like that left.... If only we had a historical precedent to look at......
  4. Agree ref Vyner - he will become a senior leader now....to be fair to him he has been leading in that regard for most of the season....setting the example (albeit the OG!). Whilst I agree with your assertion of finding a few experienced players from the lower leagues, I'm not entirely sure about rationale here. They are in the lower leagues for a reason. Look at Cornick and Memeti who have both struggled to make a transition that has added impact over a protracted period. Teams on the cheap never pay off. Not saying we need to blow our biscuits on transfers....just getting some championship experience to assist the coaching and development of our younger players is key. Agree that Manning will be here next season. The sooner this gets put to bed the better. Whilst completely uninspiring he does need to be given more than half a season to make any change. We are (all but) safe. Nothing to lose for the remainder.....would like to see him properly experiment over the last 9 games. Sadly I don't think he has the minerals.
  5. I do often struggle to see what he brings to the team. He has sproadic periods of good play (his goal against Southampton strongly suggests he has something in his locker).....more often than not (like Sat) he is anonymous. Clearly the coaching team are seeing something in him that we don't. For the life of me....I'll keep squinting to see if I can see it...
  6. For me going to the gate is about spending time with my children - BCFC is the mechanism that enables that in what is otherwise a hectic world. Despite the performances we still get excited about the drive from Melksham (Hence Melksred) to Bedminster for the game. Like everything you have to endure the lows to fully appreciate the highs. The ying to this yang HAS to be spectacular (whenever it arrives). I've been bitterly disappointed with the majority of performances at the gate this season- the 5 away matches I've been to have not been much better (minus West Ham of course). I, like many, feel dejected about the state of everything on the pitch - underwhelmed by the set up off it (which has yet to prove itself). Do I envisage SL opening his wallet in Aug - not so sure...is it going to be smooth sailing next season? - highly unlikely. But inevitably, like some optimistic fool, I will part with the best part of a grand (1 adult, 2 Under 19s) and hope for a pleasant surprise. If ever there was a demonstration of optimism bias....It can be seen at the point that my hard earned cash departs my account for a foolish dream of, one day, watching Premier League footy at the gate. I'm mid-40s now.....get your fingers out City.....only have (at best) another 35-40 seasons in me! ;o)
  7. I don't see why..... granted he entered the game with a "spring" in his step but his game drooped to a mere trickle of influence. For me, should have rained all over them for longer.
  8. Was only one - notice than Manning read the room and did attempt his 3 cheers thing (which I think is genuinely cringe worthy anyhow)
  9. Not sure many Championship Managers Drive Renaults! #TierryHenry
  10. Agree - he is normally poor but today made multiple chances. Wish he could improve his decision making / final ball.....I'm highly critical of him...but credit where its due. Well played.
