  1. Please can you vote for Jonny on what was Goal of the Round for the Caraboa Cup Which it was in my opinion http://bit.ly/CarabaoCupGOTR1 Thanks all ...much appreciated .....
  2. Jonny ... 1st 45 mins played Swindon....
  3. Spot on ... 3-5-2 does not suit wingers, and there are a few ahead of him, plus any extension to his contract tells you something, and a player like him needs to play. As a few have said he has proved himself at Conference (10 Goals +assists), then League 2 (bit part) 5Goals +assists then League 2 Settled (11 Goals 6 assists) and ended up player of the year and top scorer for Oldham, so it is really going to be interesting to see what they do with Eliasson this year. If there is no current path but the potential of a payday later on it becomes a business decision based on merit with multi
  4. In relation to Point 1 the progression at Oldham was better suited simply because he was not ready for Championship but over qualified for U23. Personally I am an advocate for a reserve League rather than a U23 Team because I believe a reserve league learns you more. Point 2 Yes, training with players at a higher level can only improve your learning & understanding Point 3 Hard one that one, Depends .... certain players need to play , and please dont think wrongly of that answer, I purely mean that fast accleration players are like greyhounds they need constant work to be a threa
  5. Started off at Tranmere on fire !! scoring 5 goals in 8-12 weeks plus assists then Mellon at Christmas signed a L1 Winger from Walsall on loan with the alledged clause that he must play in the team !! Jonny then was used as a bit part player and the Loan system was abused to keep player numbers up. One of Jonnys better traits is the ability to retain speed in the latter part of the games, but Mellon took him off at 50-60 minutes in the majority of games thereby affecting stamina and he would look to the bench every time 60 minutes was approaching, just look at the amount of goals he scored in
  6. Nothing concrete has been spoken about, obviously would have loved to have him come on today, and I followed Gregor on twitter right through the game. Several clubs have enquired I hear after a great season last year but that would be expected. If I hear anymore I will post here..
  7. The only issue is 3-5-2.... doesn't suit wingers ..... and common knowledge that Dean will be using that from day1 ...
  8. Simple answer there Jon is that he doesnt, he can operate in a 10 or in a offset 2 (Striker) but prefers each wing preferably. Very quick movement and low centre of gravity means he can turn on a sixpence, but in relality 3-5-2 does not suit him. Hes training now with the Team so I suppose we will all know very soon
  9. What is a Championship player ? because most likely he has come from either U23 or U21 originally in a Championship team, or performed well at Conference, League 2 or League 1, however, the more you climb up the ladder and perform, the more you will pay for that player if you do not already own him. If you already have a player that excelled in Conference and scored 10 (Fylde) Excelled in League 2 and scored 11 (Oldham) and previously 6 months at Tranmere and scored 5 then it makes sense to put him with the better all round players and watch him excell again ?? if he can, taking also the
  10. You also missed out the forgotten man J.Smith... Oldham Top Scorer L2 last year and Fans player of the year .......
  11. Full Season review from a fan which I thought was very good :-
  12. Well Oldhams season is now finished so here is a quick video of Jonnys goals for the season... Jonny Smith Oldham Season 2019/2020
