  1. Very frustrating for me to read all the posts... Jonny has never been given the opportunity here, and he has both earned it and deserved it. No mention at all of a recall, and I only believe he was extended to get a better sell on price. Is he good enough... Yes Does he have great pace ...Yes Is he technical ... Yes Would he fit in the team ...Absolutely Came 3rd overall in the Team bleep test... Age 23 !! I would put him on par with some well know wide men at Bristol, and only the defending strength part to be worked on. Two injuries this season for the firs
  2. Thanks Guys... Yes, some good news that it was a Grade 1 MCL from the scan with a little bit of clotting, so should only be out 2-3 Weeks ... He has started Physio work on it and is able to walk without pain now so healing well....
  3. Jonny got a MCL injury after a hefty tackle on him in the first half today against The Gas ... Scan on Monday ... Hopefully good news to follow...
  4. Yes, he did cause a lot of issues for Shrewsbury and the Ex Bournemouth AFC left back now knows him very well ... 2nd half he was drawing 2 to 3 players across to his side to stop him. Unlucky with 3 shots just skimming the bar and end product just didn't fall for him but settling in very well now and going strength to strength. Someones going to get tonked shortly.... ps. Sue Smith is his Mum ... really.....
  5. Great quick thinking from Jonny Smith for the assist for the first goal in their 2-1 win against table topping Hull City... Had a great game !! https://twitter.com/tylerstfc/status/1322587449198059521?s=09
  6. Please can you vote for Jonny on what was Goal of the Round for the Caraboa Cup Which it was in my opinion http://bit.ly/CarabaoCupGOTR1 Thanks all ...much appreciated .....
  7. Jonny ... 1st 45 mins played Swindon....
  8. Spot on ... 3-5-2 does not suit wingers, and there are a few ahead of him, plus any extension to his contract tells you something, and a player like him needs to play. As a few have said he has proved himself at Conference (10 Goals +assists), then League 2 (bit part) 5Goals +assists then League 2 Settled (11 Goals 6 assists) and ended up player of the year and top scorer for Oldham, so it is really going to be interesting to see what they do with Eliasson this year. If there is no current path but the potential of a payday later on it becomes a business decision based on merit with multi
  9. In relation to Point 1 the progression at Oldham was better suited simply because he was not ready for Championship but over qualified for U23. Personally I am an advocate for a reserve League rather than a U23 Team because I believe a reserve league learns you more. Point 2 Yes, training with players at a higher level can only improve your learning & understanding Point 3 Hard one that one, Depends .... certain players need to play , and please dont think wrongly of that answer, I purely mean that fast accleration players are like greyhounds they need constant work to be a threa
  10. Started off at Tranmere on fire !! scoring 5 goals in 8-12 weeks plus assists then Mellon at Christmas signed a L1 Winger from Walsall on loan with the alledged clause that he must play in the team !! Jonny then was used as a bit part player and the Loan system was abused to keep player numbers up. One of Jonnys better traits is the ability to retain speed in the latter part of the games, but Mellon took him off at 50-60 minutes in the majority of games thereby affecting stamina and he would look to the bench every time 60 minutes was approaching, just look at the amount of goals he scored in
  11. Nothing concrete has been spoken about, obviously would have loved to have him come on today, and I followed Gregor on twitter right through the game. Several clubs have enquired I hear after a great season last year but that would be expected. If I hear anymore I will post here..
  12. The only issue is 3-5-2.... doesn't suit wingers ..... and common knowledge that Dean will be using that from day1 ...
