  1. I don’t really agree it’s been underwhelming, a lot of it is as expected because we have a mid table squad. Pearson done a good job stabilising the club but I’m personally behind Manning
  2. But also these are the same players who had these poor runs? Everyone gave Pearson a chance (rightly so) with that god awful squad in 20/21. Why doesn’t Manning get the same patience?
  3. I agree we don’t have a top 6 squad, but that’s not Manning’s fault is it? I’ve always said I’d be happy with top half and that’s where we are
  4. Pearson in the 2020/2021 season lost 3 on the bounce and 4 on the bounce just in the first couple of months of him being in charge. Manning on the other hand won 3 league games on the bounce which Pearson never was able to achieve
  5. Manning has us in the top half with 12 games remaining, I maybe wrong of course but I can’t remember Pearson having us this high at this stage. I like Pearson for the record and think he left us in a better state when he took over but it’s time to move on and for me Manning has done more than enough to be backed going forward
  6. Southampton came back and beat Huddersfield and their mentality was sky high, the loss against us knocked their confidence and now they’re struggling. Each to their own but Manning has only had a few months and not had a chance to put his authority on this team but still has picked up some great results and for me deserves a full pre season. I’m not happy with the last two results but if this is what has made you disconnect from the club then you must not have supported us for very long
  7. We’ve been on worse form under Pearson, utterly ridiculous claim. This is Bristol City Football Club, not Nigel Pearson Football Club. The quicker people realise this, the sooner we can move on
  8. Happy I’m not the only one, we’ve seen these runs of form and performances before Manning so I don’t get why he’s getting scapegoated on here like it’s something completely new?
  9. 10 days ago we were beating a team which seemed unbeatable at the time and now a couple of poor results and this is what we see on this forum? Reality is that we have rarely been above where we are in the league at this moment of time, I have optimism personally that we are set up well for the future but at the moment we don’t have the consistency to be in the conversation for playoffs this season. This is nowhere near the worst I’ve seen the club and I’m far from disconnected personally
  10. I don’t think Mehmeti is perfect at all, but there is a player there which I think Manning has got better over time. Pearson preferred Yeboah and Cornick over him which is absolutely hilarious Easy to say a shocking appointment now but there’s no way you were saying that a week and a half ago. For me, I’m giving him minimum a pre season where hopefully we’ll look like we can break teams down whilst having more of the ball. This was a problem under Johnson, Holden and Pearson (although his fan club don’t want to admit it)
  11. Completely disagree, we’d have absolutely lost today under Pearson. As bad as the last two games have been, we also picked up 7 points from Coventry, Leeds, Boro and Southampton. I don’t think we come near that points total with Pearson in charge
  12. We started Southamptons poor run beating them for the first time in 25 games. Problem is (and has been the case since Lee Johnson) we’ve failed to break down teams near the bottom and subsequently thought we’ve been above that
  13. Are you honestly trying to say we never had poor performances under Pearson? We had plenty, in fact results like today have been a regular occurrence since we’ve gone back up. I’m willing to give Manning the benefit of the doubt considering he’s only had one window to correct it
  14. Had no idea he was back 2 months ahead of schedule. Massive credit to him and the staff for getting him back, he’s looked really good in the games he’s played imo
  15. Not a chance we “gave it a go” against Leicester, we had 10 men behind the ball and the goal was coming from a mile off. Both performances were poor, but only Manning gets blamed for the game he managed
  16. Agreed his decision making has been a issue for some time now, it’s getting better but it’s still not enough in a goal shy side
  17. I did think we needed another thread referring to the same thing but different wording
  18. We were poor last night, Leeds were very good and didn’t make it easy but when we had the ball we didn’t use it well enough. However think that’s a rare poor performance under LM, Coventry mid week we were very good and should’ve got all 3 points for example That was a problem before Manning, our forwards aren’t good enough. Hence why two have been brought in on loan to add quality
  19. Not at all, I’ve seen so much about how good we were under Pearson (I have nothing against him) but our expectations for him were very low. If you look at how we played at Leicester compared to last night, there was zero negativity after we played Leicester when we parked the bus all game and lost vs Leeds where we were poor but Manning is getting pelters. No consistency at all with this flip flop fanbase
  20. I think this is out of necessity aswell though, because we badly miss Sykes going forward and for me I’d rather have Tanner and McCrorie in there than Bell
  21. We’ll just look at this thread where people seem to think we were this incredible team, I’d much rather watch us now.
  22. I did we played well, I can name atleast three games under Manning where we played better than that
  23. I wish we got to see this scintillating football people are telling us we played under Pearson on this forum
