  1. Honestly, I'm expecting that Deadpool fella to rock up next.

I'm amazed SL isn't looking at a Netflix doco or similar, just to stroke his ego some more.

Maybe get Tony Robinson in to 'motivate' the team.

Parade the 2024 Youth Trophy around Bedminster.

    Lansdown has lost the plot.

What does he want from the club?

    The Team?

    The Fans?

    To be revered?  Loved?  Worshiped?

    To be remembered I'd guess.

Why so important, why so important now?

I stand by what I said 10 months ago.

I suspect SL is unwell, and trying one last time to leave 'a legacy to be remembered for' before he sells up.

    You had it Steve.

Nigel Pearson. He cleaned up your mess, balanced the books and made us all proud.

Then you ****** him over - and for what?

To be remembered in this way?

A selfish old man who wants to have something, anything, to hang his hat on before its too late....

You will be remembered poorly Steve, and that's on you.

It didn't have to be this way.

  2. Q: Whats Plan B?

    A: Scott Twine

Q: How do you want to play

A: Well when we beat Southampton....

    Add the rubbish about:

    'not spending money'

    'I'm working very hard'

    'We beat Watford & Southampton'

'Liam is learning as he goes'

    'I've been here 30 years'

Totally out of his depth - panicked irrational interview - divulging transfer fees - fellating SL & JL - praising recruitment

Brian, piss off out of the club.

    Now.

On the subject of the WSL this news story seems to have gone under the radar, one instance I imagine the women's game doesn't get the same publicity as the men's team

Maybe a lack of understanding here, but a potential four day court case sounds very serious and surely more than just using verbal abuse?

Chelsea striker and Matildas captain Sam Kerr is set to face trial after being charged with racially aggravated harassment of a London police officer.

The 30-year-old Australia international pleaded not guilty to the offence at a court hearing on Monday, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

Kerr is scheduled to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on 1 February 2025.

It follows an alleged incident in January 2023.

"The charge relates to an incident involving a police officer who was responding to a complaint involving a taxi fare on 30 January 2023 in Twickenham," a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.

She was charged on 21 January "with a racially aggravated offence under Section 4A [of the] Public Order Act 1986", they added.

However Kerr denied the charge at a plea and trial preparation hearing at Kingston upon Thames Crown Court on Monday.

The striker is currently sidelined after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury at the club's warm weather training camp in Morocco in January.

She has scored 99 goals in 128 matches since joining Chelsea in 2019, and is her country's all-time record goalscorer with 64 goals in 125 games.

Speaking to media in Adelaide on Tuesday, Football Australia chief executive James Johnson said the federation had learned of the "very serious allegations" in the news that morning.

"There is no place for racism in our sport," he said.

"At the same time Sam has rights, natural justice rights, procedural rights that she has to work through and we will respect that."

Asked if Kerr - arguably Australia's biggest sports star - should be stood down as the national team's captain until the court case has played out, Mr Johnson said the governing body needed to "establish the facts" before deciding its "next step".

"We are trying to get to the bottom of it at the moment... we've got to find out what actually happened."

"I haven't spoken to Sam other than a text message to check in on her wellbeing."

Matildas coach Tony Gustavsson told reporters in Sydney that he was "surprised" by the allegations but couldn't say anything further.

Crazy - Sam Kerr is of Indian descent (both parents born in India) - maybe this was cultural / religious or an  Indian / Pakistani clash perhaps.

  4. He has lost the dressing room.

They don't respect him, they don't like his game plan.

    He's losing the fans.

I honestly don't know where the next win is coming from. It's a decent gap to the drop - 9 points. I suspect it will be more about the bottom clubs not picking up enough points rather than us gaining enough that keeps us up.

  5. Under Nige the gap between good and bad performances had closed considerably as time went on. Things seemed to have finally gelled and all that was needed was a good run with injuries so we could kick on.

Seems like we have gone backwards in this regard.

Southampton was brilliant. All credit to LM - best performance of his tenure, narrowly shading Watford away.

    Then this.

The gap between Southampton and QPR games was so far apart that I cannot fathom why.

Tiredness should not play that much of a difference - not to THAT extent.

In fairness LM made 3 early (for him) subs - but that had no effect.

Some players reverted to their 'behaviours' of eons ago.

Wells, I'm looking at you for that selfish abomination of a FK.

It smacks of lack of respect for the manager - respect in not having any belief that LM has the nous to have a Plan B.

The lack of respect to not trust LM about Mbude and his ability at this level.  LM thought Mbude could perform. The players did not and cut him (rightly) out of the game.

    This is very concerning.

It says to me LM does not have the dressing room fully believing in his message and tactics.

Manning would be very well served to sit down with Dickie, James and Conway (for example) and ask if the message is getting from manager to players, and if it is, why is no-one listening to it.

Small fractures easily turn into big ones - it needs addressing now.

  6. It's games like this - ones that are a long way away, and hard to get home from - that the club could step up if they wanted to.

If there is a genuine feeling that play-offs are a chance, however small, then subsidise coach travel for those willing to make a 10hr round trip.

    Match tix are £32

Make it tix and travel for £40 and put on 10 coaches from the off. 550 seats minimum for fans who want to go. Add extra coaches if the interest is there.

If the club think promotion is an option - get as many fans as possible to as many games as possible

At £40 fans are still chucking in £440 towards offsetting a coach hire fee.

I'd reckon any hire company would do a 'good price' for 8+ coaches in this economic climate.

If City want a good following, this is the price they have to pay.
