4th Round vs Forest - Ticket details released
Loosey Boy replied to myol'man's topic in Football Chat
The only insight at this stage was that it was mentioned over the tannoy on Saturday that tickets were selling fast….. Probably get more of an update tomorrow, once STH window comes to an end. Really not sure what to expect from Forest - are they likely to bring 3,300 on a Friday night? -
No real surprise…..be interesting to see what happens with Matty James
-
We all ought to be Burnley fans between now and the end of the season - I think that the only way he potentially stays beyond the end of this season is if they stay in the Prem!
-
Really encouraging debut - will create plenty of chances for us in the remaining 18 games - will only get better too, when he spends more time with his new teammates over the next week to ten day before he plays next vs Coventry
-
Is this one of the signings that Tinnion referred to at the Senior Reds this week? On the basis that it sounds like he would be loaned back, until the end of the season, I’d hope that he would be in addition to the other one or two players that we hope to sign (for the 1st team) before the end of the window.

What a great piece of business this is……when you think that we’ve paid c.£3.5m in total for Knight & TGH

Scott Twine - Loan Confirmed - No option to buy
Loosey Boy replied to Shauntaylor85's topic in Football Chat
I’m personally delighted to see us get Twine for the remainder of the season - it is a bit of a weird one though, bearing in mind the rumours of a perm deal or one with an option! Lets just enjoy having what looks like a very good player in a City shirt for the next 4 months and then see where we go with it, in the long term/summer. On the basis that we also want a striker, could it be that the money we do have to spend, will be invested in a permanent striker signing? -

Now sounds like a loan with option to buy at the end of the season…..would much prefer a permanent deal now -

From the Hull Forum…….. Bit of ITK for you from Burnley end. Twine looks about done for 5 million. Crazy fee if so. Benson and Zoury might be available as Kompany wants 4/5 new signings. I really don’t see us spending £5m but who knows? BT and JL having to be seen to back LM? 32 minutes ago -

I’m all for a loan with an option to buy at say £3m in the summer. I do think that Twine could be a great addition for us and so if we can’t do a “sensible” permanent deal now, would hope we’d have an option at the end of the season. -
Me neither - be interested to know who @Bris Red thinks falls into this category?

I’d hope it would be more than this - option to buy, would be ideal for all parties? Be a good signing of it was to happen -

The posts on their forum, seem to suggest it’s a permanent move, rather than loan? How does him moving to us on loan, benefit Burnley? -

Would definitely help us be more creative and knows how Manning plays……would prefer a perm deal, rather than a loan but not at the £5m rumoured price tag. Guess we will know pretty quickly, based on a couple of press articles today, suggesting that Hull loan deal has a recall clause which is date specific - per @petehinton post earlier -
Makes next Saturday absolutely huge as the run of games after, look to be really tough….. Also, by the time we go to Coventry, we will know the squad we have for the rest of the season too

With Burnley apparently wanting £5m for him, think it’s safe to say that he will be staying where he is…. -
Let’s boost their financial situation by signing Ilias Chair

This….. We are lucky to have Knight but not sure we are playing to his strengths right now…..expecting far too much of him…..need to be able to rest him now and again too

Preston North End away match thread
Loosey Boy replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Sadly, I thought that this was always likely to happen after last week. ”After the Lord Mayors show….” and all that! Preston away on a cold Saturday afternoon…..just the sort of game we didn’t need Its where we are - an inconsistent Championship side with an average squad. -

If we can get the first goal today, the ground, except for the away end , will really turn on Lowe and that can only be a good thing for us! Big game for us today - can we repeat the standard of performance from last week?…..will be interesting to see COYRs -

Keen to see how we do/play tomorrow, after last Sunday’s result…..will say a lot about where we are under LM - can we maintain our standards and repeat that 2nd half performance for 90 minutes, against a team which seems to have a manager under significant pressure? Tomorrow’s result is much more important than the one against West Ham Lets hope Liam has the boys really motivated to get a positive result
