Bit like the player who pushed the referee is charged with violent conduct but Fernandes who pushes the lineman gets nothing. Both incidents on television.
Even without VAR and with the normal television coverage it should be obvious. How do fans see in real time what is apparently beyond the scope of referees and linesmen?
They don't seem to take "mitigating factors" into account like in rugby. Yes, retaliation is frowned upon but surely in these cases they must be able to see what leads up to the offence?
Would this have followed an appeal by Swansea or do the FA go through every match later checking for infringements.
Can remember a couple of incidents against Sheffield United where there could have a red card and the ref just signalled to play on!
If this is the way they're going then it's got to be done consistently particularly where var is in use. There can be no favouritism to clubs or players. Where var isn't used there are enough match officials to witness what happens. Why did that linesman not report Fernandes?
Luton seemed to get a free kick every time they fell over. As one of the commentators said. " The player was on his way down before he was tackled!" As for Lockyer's shoulder barges when he had no intention of playing the ball...!
