  1. Very sad news RIP buster a proper gentleman and Bristol City legend
  2. Oh and your right about the caricature although that was the cover for the testimonial year booklet for him
  3. All this Testimonial talk got me thinking how many players have had one at Bristol City, there are a few, have I missed any out? John Shaw v West Brom Steve Phillips v Bristol Rovers Legends Billy Wedlock Testimonial year Louis Carey v Bristol Rovers Gerry Gow v Man City Trevor Tainton v Bristol Rovers Chris Garland v Man Utd Geoff Merrick v Derek Dougan Xl Gerry Sharpe v Derby County Rob Newman v Aston Villa Andy Llewellyn v Swindon Buster Footman v Man Utd Bryan Drysdale v Hereford Gordon Parr v Chelsea Jack Connor v Wolves Terry Bush & Tony Ford v Bris
  4. Trevor Tainton 1976/77 Vs Bristol Rovers
  5. Depends what the rules are for testimonials as yes the Ashton gate 8 did have a testimonial game for them being Ipswich v Southampton and out of the 8 players Tainton and Merrick already had testimonials and later in 1993 Chris Garland, all deserved granted but testimonial rules Bent to suite maybe? Anyhow this was not meant to go technical just wanted to show some appreciation to Scotty.
  6. Blimey I forgot the negativity of this place at times, NHS is just a suggestion many good causes out there even if it’s in Scott’s own pocket.. As for text size cut and paste from another site...
  7. True enough time to plan I guess. It took over 20 years for Gerry Gow to get one granted..
  8. Two things long over due a friendly game with Willem and Scott Murray’s testimonial, so a lot of people tell me.. We can but try... The expression is “killing birds with one stone” a testimonial for Scott Murray much long over due, push for the game to be against Willem (up to Scott to pick a team of course) and those who go on about the money maybe half the game earnings go to the NHS? As a thank you to them also? (Again Scott’s choice). What’s there not to like for everyone... As much as a testimonial is deserved for the moments given when he was on the pitch there is a lot of things d
  9. Buster was carrying off Scott Partridge
  10. It was never the clubs flag day and for a number of years they never wanted to be associated with the event and not a want of trying or asking.. It was hard enough getting the east end open and putting flags in there let alone getting the club involved with a local publicans flag event..
  11. I know mate but not sure where they got section 82 from though
