  1. It's a right pain given that we have to drive up from Cornwall - by the time we park up, get something to eat and get in our seats, it's an early start!
  2. Three of us from Liskeard in Cornwall
  3. Dave Storr said in his email that he has passed my email on to the stewards and medical staff
  4. Further to the above, I also e-mailed the club to say thanks - got a couple of nice replies from Customer Services and Security.
  5. The stewards come in for considerable flak on here - often with justification. However, I think it is important to also mention when they do well. My son was taken ill at the Hull game on Wednesday. His mum escorted him out of the seating area (W16) to get some assistance. The first steward they came to was excellent - called assistance and generally did all that he could until others came to help, eventually getting him to the medical centre where he was looked after by the St John's team. They were also excellent, carrying out tests and then keeping him under observation until he was well enough to leave. At this point, the gate stewards at the Ashton Road entrance escorted me and the car to pick him up from the door of the medical centre. Bit of a long journey home to Cornwall, but made it safely. Our son has recovered well and is feeling much better - well enough to go to the Stoke game tomorrow! So, in this case, credit where it is due - good work by the stewards and medical team. Very grateful for their help.
  6. No, only if the appeal is deemed to be 'frivolous' - like the Yeovil lad - he pushed one of the officials, got a straight red which they appealed - deemed to be a frivolous appeal as laying hands on the ref/lino is very much taboo (apart from yesterday, of course!)

    For my dad

Yes, Bolton game was indeed a 2-2 draw. Also, BTRFTG is quite right - it wasn't boxing day for the Wolves game - memory playing tricks! I came across the match programme just a few days ago whilst sorting out some stuff after having moved house and noticed the date was the 28th. Still, the magic of the time was there again in my mind - me and dad at the Gate....

    For my dad

Sorry to hear of your loss. My Dad took me to my first game in John Atyeo's final season; first game against Bolton, second against Wolves on Boxing Day. I was given Subbuteo for Christmas - the standard teams supplied were red/white and blue/white. Dad arranged for the blue/white team figures to be exchanged for a set of figures in Wolves colours. Unfortunately, the bloke in the shop (a gashead) switched the wrong figures and took out the red/white set! Doh! Still, really enjoyed the game and the many others with my Dad. Sadly, his health deteriorated and he wasn't able to go for several years later in life. But I still remember those days with such fondness. His name is on the Atyeo statue, along with mine and my son's - I started the cycle again with him when he was about 8. Time moves on, the pain recedes but the happy memories remain. RIP fellow red.
