  1. Depends what you class as “success”....agree to disagree on this matter
  2. No club gets it right every time, think you got the wrong end of the stick with that one. But there's a reason why we are still a footballing "backwater".....hopefully not for much longer as long as we get this next appointment right.
  3. With the backing LJ had, he certainly did not do well. May of improved us, but with the backing he had & players at his disposal he did not do well. As i said, GJ was good one & so was Cotterill, but the latter was not Lansdown's call, it was Dawes. For me, no way did McInnes make sense & the only reason SOD did is because we were such a basket case after McInnes's time we had no option but to settle for someone like him! The very fact that he has his son, Jon, as chairman says enough about his judgement. Won't knock him for what he has done for the club in the slightest,
  4. Not questioning his intentions at all, i believe he feels he does choose the right appointment, but history tells us very differently, lets not spin this, the most successful manager we have had since GJ was Cotterill, who wasn't even Lansdowns choice. I have serious doubts in Lansdown's judgements to appoint a manager good enough for the situations we have been in - McInnes, Coppell (who fell out with SL), SOD, Millen, LJ - hardly a glittering resume of appointments is it? He got it right with GJ, but most have been underwhelming appointments at the time & went on to be underwhelming duri
  5. It’s gonna be a bloody cheap option aint it? The more Chris Hughton is making the sense, the less confident i am that the Lansdowns will get this right unfortunately...
  6. Ever heard of the phrase “in my opinion”? Clearly i stated this in my post. The managers he appointee afterwards were hardly of the calibre of Coppell and he has harped back to this stage of the clubs history many times....
  7. He still seems burned by the Coppell experience in my opinion, won’t be getting my hopes up for a manager who has been there and done it. Expect someone like Ryan Lowe (would be a bit mental though as he has never had a season in League 1). We did 100% need a change however.
  8. Would not be overly enthused with Ryan Lowe, but lets not forget he has achieved a hell of a lot more than LJ has ever achieved in his managment career. As long as the next manager gets the exact same amount of backing as LJ had then anything is possible.
  9. He’s young, has a nice (definately not smug) smirk, learning his trade, knows how to draw a game, give the lad a chance
  10. It doesn’t make any sense to me. I wouldn’ t be suprised that if we lose he will make a few underhand comments about Palmer on the post match conference & chuck him under the bus (again) without even playing a minute.
  11. Not one for conspiracies, but on this occasion, i just do not believe that for a single second.
  12. Yeah, lets not go after proven Championship strikers.....christ the guy has played 11 games for us (not started all of those games either) and has scored 3 goals from probably about 5 decent chances.....but yeah lets blame him & go back to Fammy up top on his own.....Think people forget just how blunt we are went its fammy up top, even more so than we are now. People need to realise things won’t get any better until the man at the helm is replaced
  13. It’s the new bib he wears when eating his dinner
  14. This is the same chairman that has hired Darren Ferguson 3 different times with his aim of success being to reach the league 1 play offs year in year out, the championship is as good as being champions league winners for him, wouldn’t take too much notice of his opinion.
  15. This, 100000000%. If LJ gets sacked Jamie MaCallister and Dean Holden better get the bloody bullet as well, all 3 are equal in this, which is why they share the media duties, not a chance should either be given a chance to step in.
  16. Come on now guys, he has finished higher and higher year after year whilst spending millions and millions more than anyone else in our history, give him a chance and another 4 seasons & we may just finish 7th again....#Fourmoreyears
  17. That’s actually a fair analysis to be honest. For what it’s worth, i also don’t agree with the criticism some have levelled at Massengo, people are quick to forget he’s an 18 year old playing his first season away from home, plenty more to come from him as long as he’s given time to improve.
  18. Questioning why Massengo gets criticised, yet you go on to criticise KP who you seem to be claiming doesn’t try, yet he has hardly been given a fair run of consecutive games in the team!?
  19. Seems like a lot of people have gone delusional during lock down, we have Afobe, Wells & Diedhiou yet there are people seriously contemplating Watkins? Now, i'm all for a laugh, but this is a bit much surely? He really has been rubbish, Woolford esq rubbish (maybe a bit harsh on Woolford). Sure, he had a "decent" 50 minutes against Barnsley 30 years ago & is obviously liked within the squad, but to suggest he should play is cray cray.
  20. Atletico Madrid, disgusting albeit successful brand of football but they have some class players which could do much more, Simeone and the club are made for each other, i think he would fail at any other top club. Special mentions for Celtic, PSG & Bayern.
  21. Yes was always extremely envious, hated definitely the wrong word. Poor bloke, Cardiff have certainly had a tragic time of it lately.
  22. Loved & hated Kavanagh in equal measure & always felt he was a player we could of had. Both extremely classy players and Whittingham probably the best midfielder the championship has seen, would rank him just above Tom Cairney. Not seeing anything official so far so hopefully a mistake. Tragic if true.
  23. Ran the whole length of the pitch in the second half and got the ball played to him in their box only to let it hit his knee & bounce out for a goal kick....proper league 2 looking at times & ok’ish at other times. He is young though so could get better but wouldn’t be spending a penny past £1million on him.
  24. Made of tissue paper, shame for him. At least he is out of contract in the summer.
