    Willem Ii

Bit of a lighthearted one this afternoon from me folks, but just saw Willem II's miss from last week - what an absolute stinker (at 1:05)! And on a side note, seems their 3rd kit bears a striking similarity with another that I've seen this season... https://webshop.willem-ii.nl/derde-wedstrijdshirt.html I know that the fans from both us and them have an "understanding", but is there anything more official between the clubs that would explain why they're so similar?

OTIB Supporter - give us yer fivers please!

Just done mine. Would still be a bargain at twice the price!

    Lucic

I'm guessing they mean Steele who, for my money, has mostly looked solid in covering for Frankie. Whilst it was worth a punt at ~£300k to see if he was any good it's a shame Lucic couldn't cut it here, but I'm not too worried he's off.

    Kent

Completely agree - reminds me a lot of Pato (not just because of where he plays). Seemed almost to be thinking a step ahead of a lot of the others up top on a couple of occasions with some give-and-go's that didn't quite come off. Once he/they get on the same page, I think we'll have a real threat on our hands.

    transfer clarification

Back in training as of the start of this month, possibly just building up match fitness? He was starting regularly before he got injured.

    transfer clarification

Wouldn't mind seeing someone come in in midfield, a proper harasser and someone who breaks play up in the centre of the park, but I'm not going to worry too much if we're not cracking out the chequebook for anyone. We're looking solid as a team, and have good strength in depth at the moment - the result away to Sheffield United last week demonstrated that. In terms of players coming back in January - George Dowling's loan will be up, as will McCoulsky's. Wouldn't mind having either of them around as cover for our injury "problem areas". Don't think either of them are necessarily week-in week-out first team level yet, but to have as backup and even if just to blood them properly in the championship would surely be a good thing. Plus, they've both looked good, albeit at a lower league level. I can also see Hinds coming back - almost no game time at Cheltenham isn't going to do him much good in terms of progression.

    ‘Gay’ computer generated footballers!

Yeah, they sort of have both, and have for some time (at least since 2014). When managing a club, and being over 35 there is a chance that your son will join as part of your yearly youth team intake. In order for that to happen there's an assumption that you'd have a female capable of procreation associated with you, most likely as a girlfriend/partner/wife. So, both being straight and having a baby are already there, making sense to include another part of everyday life is represented. http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/football-manager-2014-discussion/161505-son-regen-spawning.html

I wouldn't put it all on Pato (although, I agree, he was anonymous for most of the game) - Pack and Smith's inability to either win balls in the air or keep possession were our main downfall last night. We're distinctly lacking a bruiser to break up play in the middle of the park.

  12. Pretty sure FIFA have outlawed this - stemming from Courtious at Athletico against (his then club) Chelsea and the clause not being enforceable. Still wouldn't stop us having a 'gentlemen's agreement' with Birmingham for exactly that purpose though, I suppose. It's just the fact that if they reneged, we wouldn't have a leg to stand on, legally.

LA announce new manager in, erm, interesting way

Maybe they've learned their lessons from the franchises constantly moving in search of more money? As an example, the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers were originally the Minneapolis Lakers - being named after the famous bodies of water in the area - before relocating in 1961 to Los Angeles where there are almost no lakes at all. God, it's a slow Friday isn't it?

The new training kit (Merged again)

Just a quick observation, but it looks like children's typefaces are the font du jour in the Prem as well. Nice to see we're a part of the in crowd at least.
