Nah , tomorrow we’ll be launching the Liam Manning trainer range ! Physically impossible to walk forwards in them ! Only backwards and sideways!!
-
Have you considered that they had already started faltering BEFORE we played them and that we didn’t take down the mighty Goliath that day? Goliath was already nursing a nasty kick in the nuts a few days before when Huddersfield nearly beat him !
-
Manning hanging his hat on that Southampton win looks more ludicrous by the day . Saints now have almost no chance of automatic promotion and are slipping badly . They’re not Man City and are now back in 4th place .
-
Yes . I thought the Swansea attendance was around 16,000 to be honest . The Lansdown was barely at 50% !!
-
Must be sacked asap . His record over his 24 games is awful . The football is awful . The players look desperately unhappy. The fans are desperately unhappy . How on earth has he done enough to give him a summer window ?
-
With you on this . I’m watching the Leicester game as my son is travelling up to join me but that aside , this will be my last game this season and I’m a season card holder . It’s not just unenjoyable now it’s actually depressing!
-
After watching City for almost 50 years I can’t believe how passive our fans are now . 20,000 people just sat there shaking their heads but saying nothing . We’re giving the Lansdowns and their useless Technical Director such an easy time it beggars belief !!
-
I think we’ll lose to Blackburn and Plymouth and draw with Huddersfield so 51 points for me unfortunately. I can see Rotherham being our only win over those 8 games leaving Manning with a record of 2 wins from the last 14 games I believe .

Bottom 3 in 2024 table - Tinnion defend this (sackable)
Baldyman replied to Shauntaylor85's topic in Football Chat
I honestly believe that we just couldn’t (or wouldn’t) afford a new contract in the summer for Nige , hence taking on the work experience kid to replace him . Our January window both in and out all suggests monetary issues rather than football issues , have been the root cause of the decisions made . -
Totally agree . So many fans seem to view the Championship as the pinnacle of achievement and that staying there with no hope of success is somehow enjoyable . It’s a sport and everyone involved in sport as either a fan or a player surely wants to experience the highs of success and I really can’t fathom how mediocrity is so popular with some .
-
Amazing window was January! We signed 5 players with not one of them getting any game time and two of which we loaned back despite clearly needing them !
-
So much said about NP , shouldn’t have been sacked , replaced with a novice because he couldn’t work with the board etc but seemingly very little about what’s POTENTIALLY behind all that’s gone on . The evidence to me seems to point to some pretty horrible financial accounts next time and beyond once again . The truth could be that we simply couldn’t afford Nige any longer so were never going to offer him a new contract on that basis . Loaning out Andi ( one of our likely biggest earners)to Championship rivals when we were so short of firepower seemed nuts but maybe WBA are paying his wages fully whilst on loan . Loaning Max Bird and Josh Stokes straight back may also have been an economic decision to help us stay within FFP for the present year . Much has been rumoured about Matt James not being injured but that if he plays again it will trigger a contract extension ? Now we have the 10% price hike in season tickets . Not saying any of the above is fact but to me it points in that direction and if so , the board had little choice in making the unpopular decisions they did ?
-
Just seeking clarity . Lansdown stand CENTRE? Is that just the centre block (14) or the 3 central blocks 13,14.,15 ?
-
I was 50/50 but £700 to renew my ticket ?? Sorry but I’m going to have to bow out . Everything in life has a price but it also has a limit !!
-
Totally agree . We can’t run the risk of us winning 2 or 3 “dead runners” over the next month or so and him being allowed the reins for next season . His football will see us all but relegated by Christmas . Not felt so strongly that a manager was “the wrong fit” in the 46 years I’ve been supporting City .
-
This . Shocking performance today and the result papered over the cracks . If we stick with this clown as is very likely, I really fear for us next season .

Swansea City at home match thread

Losing five in a row including 2 sides in the bottom 3 and both Severnside derbies should be curtains for any manager ! I’m hopeful that the players will dig him out today and get us 3 points but would be equally unsurprised to see a snooze fest with both teams terrified of losing !!! -
My apologies for a minor oversight ! It was 6 1/2 weeks out PRIOR to October rather than during October !
-
That could potentially end his season ! It’s a repeat of the groin injury that kept him out for 6 weeks in October !! Have we done it again ????
-
I’m 50/50 on the rights and wrongs of Nige going but replacing him with a kid on work experience was the most ridiculous decision in the last 10 years by the club . ( and there’s been quite a few)

Points per game and League table since Manning took charge

If we stay up , it’ll thanks to the form under Pearson and nothing to do with Manning . -

There was uncertainty over Pearsons future and a lot of talk about friction between Nige and the board in fairness . HOWEVER , replacing Nige with a rookie based on bugger all was insane ! We have tanked under Manning and I just don’t see any way we’d have performed so badly under Pearson ! -
7 out of the next 10 against teams below us
Baldyman replied to The Original OTIB's topic in Football Chat
Whilst that stat is a positive point , it’s very possible , and arguably likely that we’ll go into the final 7 games on the back of 7 straight defeats and a squad so thin and decimated by injury that we could have only six subs on the bench . Whilst it IS in our hands , we won’t be in great shape approaching them . Lose on Sunday and I fear we could be staring into the abyss ! -
Looks like we’ll only have six subs on Sunday then !!!
-
You look at the bottom 3 in the Prem and it really does make you question the point of it all . We spend a fortune watching City but as always with the Championship , the next step up is simply a season of humiliation for those who make it ! It really shouldn’t have been allowed to get this way ! Honestly feel like this Sheff Utd result tonight will have as much bearing on whether I renew my ST or not as City’s “ performances” will !
