  1. They are like an appendix - perform no useful function, occasionally make you grumble, but painful to remove and you miss it when it’s gone.
  2. He is one to stick with. So many players come from abroad and struggle initially with English football. Judging from his performances pre-injury and all the national team rancour he is very talented and could certainly hold down a place in a top six Champ or lower Prem team. If on top form he is much more athletic, tactically aware and multi-faceted than Pack or Korey. Acknowledging his issues is a sign of a mature character and I wouldn’t be surprised if he regained good form during the rest of the season.
  3. Yes and at Championship and Prem level they are also much fitter than equivalent players 15 or more years ago. However it is their full time job, they have all the support and science behind them and they are men in their 20s (mostly) so the only excuse for not being as fit as a racehorse is lack of application!
  4. For FFP. Could be a yardstick for Derby’s punishment.
  5. Not meaning buy success, more that we should appoint a proven top manager. Don’t know how much LJ or any of the managers in the Championship are on but likely we could spend more on the manager’s salary without putting ourselves in financial peril.
  6. I agree all that more likely. Just wish they’d roll the dice like they have with the rugby team. I believe this is the best squad we’ve had since we were last in the top division and want to see its potential realised.
  7. We need a winner in charge. Pre contract agreement with big mick to take over after the euros would be ideal.
  8. The performance wasn’t encouraging though. We got away with it.
  9. FA cup tie with the European and world champions squandered Out of the play offs and dropping like a stone No signings and humiliated by an Arsenal youth team player What will it take for the Lansdowns to make changes???
  10. LJ apologists what’s the justification for this shambles then?
  11. Looks a great proposal and the legwork has clearly been put in to engage locally so hopefully the council will approve. Will provide a great boost and some diversification to the south bristol economy. Hopefully this will be a spur to resolving the trains, which would also be a great benefit for match days.
  12. Exactly mate. So many clubs I have at one time or another considered our rivals in L1 or Champ have raced ahead and into the Premier League. Yes some were mismanaged and have since fallen but many had significant disadvantages compared to us. And at least they were there, many of them winning trophies or competing in Europe. Memories I would love to have of City. Wigan Burnley Bournemouth Swansea Cardiff Stoke QPR Forest Reading Charlton Brighton Blackpool Bradford West Brom Birmingham Ipswich Sheff Utd Wolves Palace Watford Fulham Millwall Hull Huddersfield Barnsley Bolton Thats just off the top of my head and there’s not a team in that list that I wouldn’t trade the last 25 years with.
  13. If a club like Brentford can make it to the Prem before us SL needs to be asking some serious questions of himself and his staff. Tiny dilapidated ground, huge competition for fans yet they are ahead of us. Depressing.
