Yeah good point re: Leeds, yeah we 'only' lost 0-1 but we were never 'in it'.

Lot's of struggling managers like to use scoreline differential to project the 'fine margins', but we were never close to getting anything out of that game, we had 1 shot.

We were arguably closer in the recent WBA game but 2-0 is harder to defend than 0-1

    Leeds was embarrassingly bad.

Good point Geoff. IIRC going back there were a few posts suggesting that they could see King as a future coach/manager.

Having said that I could also see accusations of "jobs for the boys" had that happened, given our track record e.g. BT and LJ.

Given the way things are going, is it beyond the realms of possibility that we could Andy King in charge before the season is out, or would that smack too much of one of appointing Pearson's allies to TPTB and someone who would pick James, thereby triggering a contract extension?

King wouldn't stand a snowball in hell's chance of getting a job at BCFC.

Being a Pearson bloke, he's already guilty by association in SL's eyes, and you can put everything you have on that.

Manning's going nowhere for a long while and when he does, it'll be another nobody who gets the job.

    So depressing.

  3. I know Nigel is an intelligent bloke who has a life away from football and has lots of other interests,  but I would love it (Kevin Keegan voice) ******* luv it if he now and then read and saw what the City fans think about the way the club has seriously ****** up since his sacking.

I( bet in all reality, he's moved on much more than we have and hardly gives it a thought. He always stuck me as a guy that never suffered fools gladly,  and let's be fair, he had total and utter fools as his bosses.

In the rare chance that he would ever visit OTIB..

Cheers, Nige  you achieved far more here than you will ever know. And you started "the beginning of the end..."

If it is a football retirement, enjoy and have fun, you fully deserve it.

The crux of the problem is Jon Lansdown.  Nepotism never works.  Lansdown senior needs to get his son out of there, appoint a top of the range CEO and let him run the club unfettered, including the appointment of an experienced Head of Football and possibly a new Head Coach, although I’d give Manning the benefit of the doubt with professional people around to support him.

Least to blame - most to blame

    Manning, Tinnion, JL, SL.

Buck stops right at the top.

Has become less and less interested, doesn't even believe in his own Premier League "dream" any longer, becoming more and more pissed off by the fans

Really needs to go or this club is only gonna go one way.

    Careful what you wish for?

Well who was it said this great bit of truth

There’s no evidence of this at all - the players were still trying at the end.

Just because they are ineffective, doesn’t mean they’ve given up.

    This is sensationalist nonsense imo.

Trying til the end because in all honesty, they are a decent bunch of people. But I doubt very many of them really think this is the guy to take the club forward, much like most of the fans watching.

Poor of West Brom, always had then down as one of the least objectionable West Midlands clubs.

Yeah but when you consider the others are Brum, Villa and Wolves that’s not exactly saying much.
