Totally agree and for that reason it's a actually a massively important appointment. This is quite possibly the best time to take this job in recent times. We are stable, well placed and like some mythical quest, the allure of getting 'the biggest side not have made the Prem' has attracted a young, progressive coach with a lot of self belief. If it clicks, I think he'll get us in the promotion mix.

Would turn a few heads but we don't really make appointments like that. I'd think he'd want his own brand of football rather than adopt our philosophy but perhaps they might align. Overall, I think it's unlikely he's Nige's replacement.

We should of been watching an interview about Nige's contract extension and plans for Jan and the season ahead. Instead we get this. I've watched it 3 times and I still can't see from a football matters perspective how any of it makes sense. This appointment better be shit hot and hit the ground running. I won't be holding my breath.

So Nige progresses the club, plays front foot pressing football, has us in touch of the play offs against the odds with an injury hit squad but we now appear to be looking to recruit another Nige?
