  1. Sorry I don't mean ability wise as I think he is going to be a decent striker but for the burden placed on Tommy to be our match winner when still learning his trade. Having a more experienced striker playing either alongside or sharing the load with Tommy would only benefit him more.
  2. Our front line needs a complete overhaul. Bell, Mehmeti and Cornick not good enough. Conway not ready to be a regular starter. Wells Aging. How much money do we have????
  3. Lee Johnson really messed with Taylor's head, he was playing really well and then LJ dropped him and loaned him out. Talk about messing with a players confidence. Hope he does well in France.
  4. I had a procedure called micro fractures as I had damaged/worn cartilage. It is basically done via key hole, the surgeon will drill small holes into the bone marrow around the knee and cells from that will stimulate new cartilage growth. I have been pain free for 7 years now but that is with managing what I can and cannot do, no football, squash or running and my exercise consists of cycling and swimming which the consultant recommended. New cartilage growth will never be as strong as the original.
  5. Trautmann's Journey (from Hitler youth to fa cup legend) was a really good read if you also enjoy war history.
  6. Fair point, players like O Dowda and Martins contracts are up at the end of the season and maybe ship a couple out on loan's. We need a complete mentalality change within this squad and the old guard need getting out of the club, the Johnson /Ashton era destroyed this club with their negative signings, tactics and treatment of certain players causing a negative attitude ingrained on the current players. The only way we will see an improvement is by bringing in players with a fresh positive can do attitude and sadly we don't have enough of those.
  7. I agree. On the whole the players Pearson has signed have made a positive impact in Atkinson, Tanner and James particularly and 2 of those were missing vs Coventry. We need another big clear out of players clearly not good enough or realised their potential, for me I would be happy to see the likes of Palmer, O Dowda, Vyner, Martin, Pring, Wells go and bring players with pace and more aggression brought into the squad. We are soft and easy to play against, offer no threat going forward, when was the last time we had seen a wide player of ours take on and dominate the oppositions fullback? Pearson needs to backed in January otherwise we are in serious trouble. We have been shocking imposing ourselves on teams and weak mentally for a good few seasons, Pep would struggle with this lot and it's going to take more than 1 transfer window to sort it out.
  8. Pearson has inherited an awful squad that has been playing with no confidence for several years now and Johnson was the main culprit for that for the way he handled the players, Taylor Moore being a fine example, plays his best football so Johnson sticks him on the bench next game then sends him out on loan! Johnson and Ashton between them continued to buy players that as Johnson called them "clubs in the bag" all similar type players with no plan how to utilise these players causing an unbalanced and unhappy sqaud with no style of play which we are still paying for to this day. If anyone thinks that this is going to be a 5 minute fix then they need to pull their head out of their a*s. Pearson has been straight with us telling us that it will be bumpy and will not happen overnight,he needs another 2 or 3 windows to start shaping the team with regards to style of play and the players to carry out what he asks, most of the players currently here can't.Pearson started the cull last summer getting rid of players that pretty much all fans wanted gone and that will carry on in the next couple of windows. We have to take the positives with the signings that Pearson has already made with the likes of Atkinson, Tanner, James and to a certain extent King, if we manage to get in a few more players like this, particularly in forward areas and the improvement of some really talented youngsters we could see a positive future, so for me it's all about staying up this season.
  9. I do get your point about creating more chances but our strikers cannot stretch an elastic band at the moment as we have no pace! I often watch our strikers movement and it's fairly static, if we are playing Martin then you have to have plenty of pace alongside and on the flanks, we don't currently.
  10. The only reason I believe is lack of funds and numbers in those forward areas otherwise I think Weiman might of gone.
  11. I still believe in big Nige, he has had one transfer window with little money and the players in the main have been decent signings in Tanner, Atkinson and James. We lack pace and goals in the forward areas which Pearson has spoken of but Lansdown will need to make funds available, I trust Pearson more than any other recent manager to spend the money wisely. Players like O Dowda, Palmer, Wells and dare I say it Weiman need to be moved on and that front line needs complete fresh blood but this takes money and time which hopefully Pearson will get.
  12. Porto is an easy trip from Bristol, cheap flights particularly during the football season, great ground and a beautiful city. As a city I actually prefer Porto over Lisbon, more rustic, compact and then you have the port.
  13. Totally agree with you but also Hegeler needs games in that position the more he plays the more comfortable he becomes, For years the fans has kept saying about having a defender comfortable passing and bringing the ball out from the back and here we have a player who can do this I just hope fans don't get on his back if he makes the odd mistake.
