  1. Problem Bristol has is it’s public transport is woeful compared to virtually every other major British city with the exception of perhaps Leeds. I took my flatmate to Bristol for the balloon fiesta a couple of years back and their main assessment of Bristol was it badly needs a transport system. The metrobus thing looks farcical and is like putting a Tesco value plaster over the problem. There have been opportunities like the tram a few years back when BCC didn’t want it going to Cribbs and so another city got the funding instead I know it’s a cultural thing in Bristol peoples attachment to their cars but thats probably as much due to the lack of realistic alternative.
  2. Dare i say it it’s also a masterclass in patience and splashing the cash doesn’t always bring success, they tried that before going back to Moyes and it took him a couple of windows to remove lots of deadwood. So have faith football can change quickly as they were dire last couple of times i saw them and now look at them
  3. I do sometimes wonder if Steve Lansdown is just too nice, and that’s what’s transmitted itself down to the players. I know he employs a CEO so he hasn’t got to do the day to day stuff but maybe he now needs to show his face consistently rather than a one off visit to show his face. And he needs to show that he isn’t going to accept players going through the motions and he needs to show the players that he backs his manager not just with money but that he isn’t going to allow the players to keep getting managers sacked and that if they don’t want to be here the mem is nice this time of year If he does that and we keep losing then maybe look at making a change but without that we’re just going to be in a continual cycle like we’ve been for the last 20 years where hard work to improve our position routinely gets thrown away and we have to start again
  4. I literally just said in a different thread that the impact of James going off last night and how it pretty much took us back to last seasons team shows why Pearson brought in Simpson and King to provide that leadership both on and off the pitch
  5. As strange as it may sound i think last night showed us why Pearson brought in Simpson and King, once James went off we were rudderless as well as leaderless and it was pretty much last seasons team. Had one of them been on the pitch we’d have had that bit of leadership on the pitch even if both of their best days are behind them.
  6. Thing that frustrates me is both Cardiff and Swansea were gifted new stadiums and they’ve been the backbone of their rise from the lower leagues
  7. It’s interesting how it’s never Daniel Levy’s fault what goes on there
  8. It certainly helped defuse the situation as the atmosphere had become toxic, more against the owners it has to be said.
  9. Living in this part of the world i know it took West Ham fans a long time to warm to him and many didn’t want him reappointed so is a much better achievement. Just goes to show some clubs suit certain managers and vice versa. He navigated a tough period where they weren’t playing well and the fans were on his back but slowly turned it round, i saw them a couple of times and they were dire and boring to watch I see some parallels with Nige here at the moment and hopefully he’ll have the time to have a similar impact
  10. Have just seen the Fulham West Brom game on quest, at least we didn’t get that referee one penalty that shouldn’t have been given and one red card which wasn’t too Yesterday’s ref might have let a lot go but at least none of it was game changing
  11. Although there are two other clubs who are based in Hammersmith and Fulham whereas with the exception of Liverpool all the other cities you cite have only professional club
  12. Tbf we did play in the Anglo Italian cup so he wasn’t completely deluded
  13. I’m kinda with Hammersmith and Fulham council on this one, land values in west London are high and they’re effectively asking for free or heavily subsidised land when they were allegedly owned by some of the richest people in the country. Seems a very rovers thing to do
  14. I’m still staggered David Russe thought he could guarantee premier league football within 5 years when he had no money, deluded springs to mind I did wonder how things might’ve gone had Ossie Ardiles got the job instead of Denis Smith though
  15. I remember Vic Callow sending one of our ballboys off back in the day
  16. Could also work the other way and wants Barnsley to lose, but while it’s fair to question their competence it’s probably unfair to question their integrity
  17. For something completely different we could try putting O’Dowda in a midfield 3 to hopefully provide a little pace whilst having James there to cover for him
  18. Can’t stop this thing we started - Bryan Adams
  19. With the lack of any real stewarding at West Brom on Saturday i saw quite a few beer bottles in the away end, needless to say none got thrown around
  20. Good for him, I’ve never understood how who someone loves or is attracted to makes any difference to anybody apart from them. I see lots of high profile players and clubs have reached out to him offering solidarity and congratulations which is both nice to see and also a little sad that it’s still necessary in this day and age and is a reminder that taking the knee is taking a stand against any form of discrimination rather than as a separate political statement But now it’s out in the open what I’m more interested in is, is he any good although we seem fairly well stocked for left backs at the moment
  21. I had that yesterday and ended up with people stood in front of me in my row, no stewards to be seen for the entire game despite the stairs being completely blocked with people
  22. I don’t mean stereotype a certain type of fan but at the back behind the goal we’re lots of younger teenage supporters where lots of the chanting was coming from.Although there was zero stewarding in that area as i even had people stood in front of me in the same row which is ridiculous and the exits were completely blocked with people and i also saw a few beer bottles in that area too I would add at one point they were waving around a half broken seat, where it came from I’ve no idea but one brainless individual after waving it over their head decided to throw it towards those in front As has been said before a lot of these don’t regularly attend away games
  23. He was doing some fitness work in the warm up before the Bournemouth game so assumed he was injured rather than out of favour as he wouldn’t have been there otherwise
