Sounds about right- what % of capacity was it, about 20%?

I note that plans to restart the Bundesliga and Bundesliga II with fans- but certainly the Bundesliga ie the top division- along similar lines, basically didn't come to pass. Can't remember the social distancing suggested but I remember reading about no alcohol, no standing areas etc and of course I assume, limited capacity in seats.

Small team I'd say was more like 10% max. Was a friendlz and was not a good game

What about seats in front and behind?

Was 4 to the left/right and 2 diagonally in any direction

  2. The team I feel most sorry for is Lazio, first real chance of a scudetto in forever, top scorer and arguably b est goalscorer in the world (maybe on par with Lewandowski) and now if the season is witten off they'll be second.

1 point behind Juve and undefeated in practically 14 games in the league (beating Juventus when they played - although that might've been in the cup).

I hop they decide on some sort of behind closed doors mini play off for those two as I would love to see Lazio win the league

I'd be very wary of any figures from anywhere at the moment.

No doubt it will all come out when this thing is over and accurate figures are available.

But maybe Germany got social exclusion in earlier and people maybe adhered to it more effectively then here ?

Germany still isn't really socially isolated. But you're right to an extent.

The state where I live was on full lockdown for gyms, bars, pubs, swimming pools etc 11 days ago. This is in the most populous state (no idea about others but I assume other states other than Saxony followed the same suit). This also meant that from about 3 days ago no meetings of more than 50 people can take place either (lots of festivals and concerts cancelled).

They essentially only let citizens enter through the back of buses instead of the front, not letting people pay for fares out of fear of safety and only really drilled home the social exclusion hard when Merkel came on TV the other day.

What I think is important is that as a people, the Germans typically are more isolated and can adhere to the self isolation rules easier, they seem to be good at follow rules (Ordnung muss sein and all that good stuff).

The borders are still open for EU citizens, people are still going outside and getting the trains. Although I definitely think they have followed it better than us.

Germany seems a bit of a mystery.

Scientists and virologists are struggling to understand it I believe so what hope do we have. ?

Any lessons that scientists, virologists can learn from there would be invaluable however.

    Perhaps more testing?

The case with Germany is a strange one. They’re testing a lot more than us but as far as deaths go, they’re not testing the dead the same way we’re testing the dead.

they have a lot better medical service and a lot more ventilators and beds but the healthcare isn’t too dissimilar to France’s, so that’s realistically where the deaths are.

my friends brother works at the Robert Koch Institut and said that essentially the difference between covid19 causing the death or the pre existing illness essentially causing the death is what is keeping the number so low, however that is a lot more in it that. Will ask tomorrow and add it here

Look I'm not really one of these conspiracy types of people. But I'm not sure I believe the chinese media and there numbers. I am concerned about the numbers in Spain and Italy will be repeated here. Hazard a guess to the numbers in 3/4 weeks? Deaths daily in the thousands?

So you’re saying a communist totalitarian government where people who question the regime/leadership mysteriously ‘disappear’ and people get ‘social points’ for agreeing with the government might be fiddling the numbers???????? No way!!!

whatever China are saying times it by 10 and you probably have the correct amount of cases/deaths

Some simple Maths lead me to the conclusion that the effect on the health of the UK from Coronavirus will not be anything like as bad as the media suggest.

We can probably all agree that China, where it originated , has been hit the hardest with 80,761 people having contracted the Virus and  3,136 deaths, The virus now seems to be under control in China with only 26 new cases yesterday in a population of 1 billion,400 million people.

    • The % of the Chinese population who  tested positive for Coronavirus is only 0.006 %. This in the worst affected country.
    • Lets assume  worst case , 1 % of UK  testing positive,. Almost 200 times higher infection rate than  China
    • 1% of the UK 67 million population represents 670,000 people who would get the Virus (currently 321)
    • Assuming current death rate in UK of 1.87%  dying from the virus
    • Therefore expected deaths in UK from the Coronavirus could be around  12,529. (currently 5)
    • Highly unlikely we would get 4 times as many deaths as China in  a UK  population a fraction of the size
    • Using the Chinese Data ,  the number of UK infections drops to 4,020 and deaths drop to less than 100 !
    • Bear in mind that 616,014 people die every year in the UK,
    • 11,848 UK  deaths every week so you can perhaps see why I believe we are significantly  exaggerating the impact of Coronavirus on the UK .

The economic damage caused by the panic is in my opinion far more dangerous in the long term to our economy and national prosperity

implying that china aren't fiddling the numbers, germany are already and thats why there are only 2 deaths currently, they're not counting people dying with pre existing conditions.

The economic damage is a mix of China having no one to produce anything at the very beginning, the trade war of sorts between Russia and the Middle East and the correction that was long overdue
