  1. Eliasson was excellent away at Ipswich, caused them tons of problems. COD is more physical but end product for me goes to Niclas. He may get bullied off the ball sometimes but when he gets that space his delivery really is something else.
  2. Think the fact Wolves sat back helped us look better in the second half. For all the play around the box and the efforts from outside the box, the quality of deliveries and play into the box got snuffed out every time. Quality wasn't there today unfortunately. Not grabbing another striker to push Fam a bit more may cost us, even one like Leon Clarke could have given us a different outlet. What's done is done now, let's see how we cope in the big games coming up. I'm not confident we can hold on with the lack of firepower but you never know.
  3. Good defender, just never know if hes gunna last the whole 90 with the injuries and constant fouling.
  4. Keep him coming off the bench and see what he can do. Prefer Eliasson gets the minutes as he looks a real threat at the moment and his delivery is second to none. Would rather have one really creative outlet instead of two workhorse types like MW and COD.
  5. Pack and Watkins terrible. Barely got one pass right between them.
  6. Almost fell asleep 2nd half. Don't seem to remember one clear cut chance. I dont feel that the playing out from the back will suit us away from home. Webster caught a few times with the ball with no options or giving it away needlessly. Lacking a presence up top in terms of creating panic, space or danger. Also lacking a leader at the back. Didnt feel safe when out of possession at all. Midfield was clever and creative in the first half and thought Eliasson was a real spark for us. Some positives for me overall. Thought forest were poor and we didnt capitalise unfortunately.
  7. Would be pleased if he came in especially at that price for a very athletic full back. Always admired his performance against us and other time they've been on the TV. Great crosser, great pace, weakening another side in our division. Good competition for Pisano too!
  8. I'm just sick of the false promises. I know they want to show the fans that they are making a go at a Premier League push but their actions say otherwise. It's talk to get more season card holders and spending less on playing staff. But a marquee signing can certainly help that too which I dont think will happen. Its just of my personal opinion that I'd rather the club be honest with their stance on where they want the club to go and I can't see their pathway to do that at this moment in time, but there still is time for them to change that. Mind you it feels like I'm saying that every season.
  9. They should be interested but quality of players shows their ambition. £2m signings of strikers who are probably not up to standard does not show me their intention of getting there. Bobby had always shown quality even in midfield to be a top class player and Weimann has not shown the consistent qualities to make it as a forward at several clubs. I certainly wouldn't complain if they were honest with how they were going about their business. Don't say you're going for the Premier league and keeping the fans in tow every year with your pre season interviews and post season speeches if you're not going to go for it. Would rather be known as a progressive club from the top and not one that says one and does another.
  10. Sustainability is what we all want. But im sick of the board and the management saying we are pushing for the Premier League when their actions show different. It's been happening for years. It is the hope that kills you! If they were honest and set realistic expectations and did that then there would be no complaints.
  11. Says in a previous post that 6 goals from 4 games are from U23 football at Villa, so 11 goals from 48 up front which is relatively okay.
  12. Stadium aside, but in terms of playing quality. How are Bristol City going to improve if they sell their best players consistently and not bring in similar quality. Selling the top players for good money which is fabulous business but trying to skate through and sign players for a third or a fifth of the price screams business and maybe not SL's priority to me. It's just the way I see it at the end of the day.
  13. Just feels like penny pinching to me Cider red. Running and work ethic only gets you so far. Bobby always had the attributes to be a danger up the top of the pitch. I hate that argument. If the club would sell themselves a bit better and pushed the boat out, the Gayles, Grays and Marriott's would see the project but it just seems like Lansdown is saving money to me at the moment. Is what it is, if he comes in I'll be 100% behind the guy always but if it is as a replacement for our top scorer then we are low down our list of top targets available.
  14. As a leading striker I do not see Weimann as a good enough replacement. Everyone wants to see progress right? With players improving or a top class player coming into replace him. I like Weimann and his work ethic but as a out and out striker I am not wholly impressed. Experience is important but it just feels like sometimes that we are a last resort for players who don't get game time at their clubs at the moment.
