  1. Without him this season we would be a lot lower than where we are right now.
  2. Our players will be 'belief buddies' after they have had their four days off.
  3. Defence seems balanced with JD back. Does anyone know where Peirera is? Is he injured? Big fan of Jack Hunt and think hes been pushed much harder to improve with PP around. Just had an odd feeling yesterday that hes been sent back if he isnt injured with Taylor Moore covering right back at times.
  4. Albeit he was playing against Lualua (a winger at wing back) he did okay. Luton are goners if they perform like that every week. Really poor.
  5. He had a whole preseason at Chelsea and signed in the final week before Leeds and started ahead of Szmodics who had a strong preseason compared to most.
  6. It's going up massively. We could compete with wages in this division but choose not to. Kalas is a rare one I think as we won him over with his loan and hes never really had a home club, but that is no way the case with any other top player in the championship. I bet Swansea, Leeds, WBA, Forest, Derby, Hull, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke best paid players are much higher than Kalas wages.
  7. On the face of it, it may look like we have an attractive club in the championship. But, the wage cap we have is not an attractive proposition for players to come down here. How many times have we been linked to a top player and we are willing to pay the transfer fee but when it comes to actually signing it doesn't go through. If I was a footballer and not from this area I would much rather live somewhere a little worse but get a much higher wage packet at the end of the month and provide better for my family in the long run. Look at Andre Gray to Burnley instead of us for example. If we paid the wages that Burnley did at the time or more, he would have been a Bristol City player. It may look attractive to US but as a footballer with a limited life span on my job to earn maximum money, it is not an attractive club.
  8. Even if we went on another record breaking run of losses and he finally had to get rid of his little mate, we all know full well he would give the job to Macca and Holden. Dont trust SL to get a manager in as he wouldn't want someone who wouldn't toe the Bristol Sport line.
  9. Are we a mid table side? Based on player quality and squad depth - probably. Are we a mid table side based on wages? Probably again. Are we a mid table sized based on how much we spent in the last four years on players transfer fees? Definitely not. We have spent millions every window (a lot more than a lot of championship sides) Can we keep giving this manager millions to spend every window and not improving our base position in this league? I would say no. A lot of managers in this league would kill for the war chest that LJ gets and have we seen an improvement? No.
  10. Reaction against a fragile side = good. Getting bullied by two long balls forward = bad.
  11. I think a fair few of the players in our squad are very overrated by the fanbase but without him this season we would be closer to 18th then 8th in my opinion. Best goalie we have had in a long time for me.
  12. If hes the best player we've got then our squad is bloody terrible. So many strikers for other teams that bring so much more than he does as a forward player. Running lots doesn't mean you're good. Doesn't score enough, isnt quick enough, isnt physical enough and definitely isnt clever enough on the ball to be a top 6 team forward.
  13. Certainly doesn't hurt Lansdown and the clubs finances that our best players are allowed to jump ship every summer window. Seems like its money now instead of investing in a more stable Premier League push. But the usual Bristol City collapse is always in the back of our minds, we might get lucky one year with this model but it's hard to compete with the big boys in a league that's wages are continually going through the roof year after year whilst we allegedly sit with a 20k a week max (bar Kalas maybe?)
