  1. Do we HAVE to go back every time we win the ball back. The amount of times we pinch the ball in an area and we pass back when there's space to move in to. We are doing half decent in pinching the ball and can drive into space but nope gotta recycle it back and let them settle. Drives me insane, the chance is there to catch them out. So passive.
  2. Will wet myself if Pring seems laboured because of his 'injury' and gets ripped to pieces by Hutchinson. He's not looked fully ready since his injury but let's rush him back. Sure we will get some chances on the break tonight. Wait and see how it goes.
  3. Think he's had some words in his ear about showing some emotions. You shouldn't have to say it to get your point across. It should just be natural. He isn't an authoritative man. That's what he was hired for. Can't upset the apple cart. We could finish 21st and he'll still be here. Lord I hope the football gets better to watch. I'm not particularly bothered about reaching the Prem, just want to see a real hard working identity - battling for the ball, proud to wear our shirt. Feels like all the arduous effort and work is being dumped down the drain.
  4. You'll see Ipswich do it tomorrow. But their players aren't afraid to play in tight spaces at the back and invite pressure to play around it and leave players like Chaplin/Taylor in free gaps in the middle or Davis/Clarke at full backs to then play forward. They don't hoof it long often because their set up is good enough with the wide players dropping inside to offer options too. Other teams don't play like that for the sake of it like we try to do. They do it for a reason. We try it because "it's the way to play". Manningball unite. Zzz.
  5. My favourite Bristol City teams to watch weren't passive possession merchants. They were the ones who scrapped about, won their battles and put teams under pressure. Maybe not the highest quality but they bloody tried. Get at teams, get the fans right behind you and you can't ask for much more. This way of playing at the moment is the opposite. Honestly get headaches watching it. I thought football was meant to be entertaining. Ashton Gate is an absolute doddle for most teams coming here. Easy day out nowadays. Come here with a plan and you've got a big chance of leaving with the points.
  6. Swear he used to say it didn't matter if Pearson had injuries to his squad. Work with what you've got and now Manning has some injuries it's the first thing he calls to as an excuse. What a Muppet.
  7. That's not true. If our form over the last three games continues then we definitely won't be fine. I'm sure we will pick up some points somewhere and be safe but after what I've been watching under Manning I wouldn't rule it out.
  8. If the form continues then most certainly, our season may not be over just yet.
  9. Hahaha, my heads never fully clear after watching that rubbish!
  10. We must be the easiest team to play against in the Championship at the moment. I've said it before but remember when we we had the second best defensive record in the division? He's turned a resilient hard working bunch of lads into a soft touch. All we needed under Pearson was a bit more quality and trickery in the final third and we could have been a serious top half contender. Our most consistent forward Sykes stuck out on the left side because of his fascination with the two tens sitting next to the striker who just can't play those roles. Said months ago that Vyner didn't look comfortable playing this style and I've been confirmed right. The whole team doesn't. Our starboy striker starved for service and will go for peanuts in the summer and flourish elsewhere. I wouldn't trust a single penny with this P.E teacher, it is so Bristol City to turn the barge around slowly and then throw the man at the wheel overboard just to hit an iceberg. 20 points in 23 games. We are in relegation form under this 'head coach'. Pearson got more out of a team from his bedside then this idiot does 'On The Grass' each week. I don't mind losing as long as the football we try to play is aggressive and shows a lack of intent. This is the absolute opposite.
  11. Because we played like we did under NP, less of the ball, more intensity and acting on instinct. We try to play the Manning front-foot-football against the other sides who give us possession and we are dreadful and boring week after week.
  12. Downsy catching a stray in the title cheered me up a little bit
  13. You want to give this guy the nest egg? Jesus this is rubbish.
  14. Cardiff fans themselves will tell you they have an identity crisis where they don't know what their style of play is. At least QPR set up in a way to nullify us and deserved it. Cardiff haven't had to do much for that. Two poor teams but the first bit of quality with the corner and they deserve the lead.
  15. It's the patterns they've been told to follow. Can't concede if we play it safe. Been like it since LM's been here.
  16. The few times we've added control at the back with the counter attacking elements of the old regime we've looked good against better opponents. Every time he's reverted to type with the behaviours and patterns he wants we've been dreadful and mindnumbing to watch. Rather be mid table with a paper thin squad with academy lads getting opportunities and pressing every team that we play then watch this almost fully fit squad amble about trying to play a boring style of football. Just my opinion on the style, don't have to agree. It just isn't for me.
  17. Back him so I won't struggle with insomnia anymore, the games and his interviews make me drowsier quicker than counting sheep. They'll back him in the summer because they gotta back their boy. I hope it all clicks but it's Bristol City - the inevitable fumbling the ball and bringing someone proven in to fix the mess the hierarchy make.
  18. Because we'd have less of the ball against the bigger teams and our players work better on instinct and a more counter attacking style. Then we revert to manningball possession against the teams who don't want to dominate the ball and we get found out. Same old. So predictable.
  19. We had a positive identity. Hard to break down - top defensive record, press teams off the park. Lacking in forward and creative areas and lots of injuries due to the amount of running but you couldn't fault the effort and we weren't far off having it all click together. Thrown it all away. Injuries haven't stopped piling up, we've only looked good when we played high press counter football like the previous manager. At least with the limited squad we saw opportunities for young lads through our academy. You won't see any emerging academy player getting a chance under Manning with him desperate to get results with an almost full squad availability. It is going to take years and a reshaping of the squad to play this sleepwalking follow the patterns-or else football to a good level. It sure isn't getting me out of my seat watching it. Got another few years of this. Buckle up. It's going to be a looooooooong boring bumpy ride.
  20. Remember when we used to have one of the best defensive records in the league? Look so brittle now. Been bailed out by a wonder header by Knight. We were told when LM came in he wanted to instil patterns and behaviours to the team. Do the same things over and over until it works. And looks like we've been found out again. Going to be a tough second half, gotta go for it. Thrown away the high press and endeavour for something we just aren't and won't be. Going to have to change half the squad to play the fluffy possession football. They are fighting for their lives and putting in what's required. Our season has been over for a while now. No way near the finished article. When we play the basketball end-to-end high press football and put our opponents under pressure I enjoy watching it. But it seems that the head coach doesn't want us to play that way. He reverts to type with the patterns and behaviours and these are the performances we get. So flat. Manning is a likeable guy but for me personally his football isn't.
