The biggest fault was not signing that all important goalscorer. Was happy with our overall business but the glaringly obvious issue was our lack of goals and someone that is capable of scoring them regularly off his own back if not from good supply. that is the big failing and that is down to tinnion et al and the inability to identify and attract one to the club. Yes, there may be a plan for a specific player in the summer, but as with others, when needed, plans could and should be brought forward where needs must. come the summer, we won’t have twine as we failed to agree a future fee with the loan. No doubt he will either stay with Burnley or another promotion contender will snap him up which would put us even further behind in the creativity stakes. i don’t blame manning and can see progress (recent abysmal performance aside against QPR). Not for me. Hasn’t done enough in his whole time playing here. Funny his performances start improving when playing for a new contract…. Too often we have fallen foul to that only to be hamstrung by having a player on a long contract we don’t want and can’t move on. with TGH, knight, bird, stokes and Murphy, along with possibly Benarous and twine, we have enough cover to move Williams on along with king and James. Our fan base are far too easily won over by short term performance. Perfect case in point would be the amount of players suggested we purchase having seen one half decent cup performance on tv! williams is injury prone, is on a decent contract and has been missing for 65-70% of his time here, whether that be due to injury, suspension or just not performing to an appropriate level

Reckon he’s cost us more points than he has won us. We will never get promoted with him as No.1 IMO. Too prone to mistakes or simply that he doesn’t have the ability to do the correct thing all the time that will cost us. Don’t see us retaining Williams. Probably on a decent wage, historically injury prone and I’m sure we can find a better replacement. Also think James will leave beyond his current contract so we simply need to find a new defensive midfielder who is resistant to the press and can pass well. Iroegbunam May be a shout down the line or many like brannagan who is older. Midfield in the main is looking good though. its our forward line that needs a shake up. Wells and cornick surely will move on at some point, Conway may be sold if he doesn’t re-sign and bell isn’t a no.9 and certainly not a 20+ goal a season striker. Think we see a lot of movement in the summer in our forward dept

Twine is too expensive and far too late in his development to sign him compared to when we should have signed him. It’s a no from me. As above, do t see the point in a loan as he’s not ours and would still be far to expensive to buy beyond a loan.

Make space for a loan move for benson. Left footed right side attacker is something we are missing and he defo has the skill and ability to get a few goals and assist from out there

Can someone explain what weimann offers to the team anymore? Doesn’t really close down, movement pretty poor, doesn’t offer tanner an option wide right, meaning we are forever predictable down the left. I fail to see what he brings to the table. Gets Sykes on asap IMO

Weimann needs to go but accept likely and unfortunately not until he is OOC. Bell is not championship standard IMO and needs a loan to a league one club to learn and improve his trade before coming back if he’s ever good enough to. Conway could become good and is a good finisher but certainly needs to improve his decision making and composure. Not a starter for me or at least needs to play up top with a second striker. williams, regardless of what others think imo is not good enough. Doesn’t pass the eye test and certainly requires an upgrade to someone that can pass the ball effectively and isn’t so injury prone. Unfortunately, will likely have to wait for his contract to end to move him on. what is clear is we need a finisher and a focal point up front to hold the ball. Whether that is one or two forwards who knows. Would love to see Daniel Jebbison here as he is quick, has presence and is a finisher. A bit of everything with a bit of star quality about him.

League one loans beckon for Conway and bell IMO. We’re too reliant on academy products that simply don’t have the experience or quality currently when needed in a league that is already extremely competitive and high in quality. They need to go away and fine tune their trade as their current inability is costing us. tin hat firmly on

We seriously lack football intelligence in the final third. Mistimed/inaccurate passes and crosses, lack of intelligent runs, no one with the ability to put their foot on the ball and dictate with any form of composure.

Anyone think tinnion signings of mehmeti and roberts and the lack of game time they have been given is also part reason Pearson has been moved on? Clearly tinnion has made issue with some of the team selections (king for example) so I reckon there was no doubt friction with this

Is his career with us done before it’s even started? seemingly can’t get a game, 17YO’s being selected over him. Is it that he’s not performing in training? Does he simply not suit the way we play nor fit in to the formation we play? genuinely would love to see him get a regular chance but is he simply another szmodics who was signed on a good deal but immediately not liked by the manager so ends up leaving quickly due to lack of opportunity? would be a shame given he is so highly rated. Would definitely do well at other championship clubs given the chance.

Would rather we played Naismith in midfield over Williams and roberts at lcb. Really not keen on Williams. Passing is atrocious, he’s not very quick or mobile and is a walking yellow card.
