Was just thinking as our last game of season is at the Britannia stadium. Wouldn’t it be funny if we relegated them.

Quite a dour club and never forgave Shilton for ending our beloved Cheesleys career.

    anyones thoughts please?

Well I hope we make a better job of it than we did at home to Birmingham when Redknapp was their Manager.

With Robert’s looking pretty decent I wouldn’t mind if we cashed in Pring for decent money.  Use the fund to strengthen up top

We already have the funds. Why should we have to sell one of good young players that we have developed to fund strengthening the team.

Results aside what was the point in this loan. Since he’s joined we’ve played 11 games.

1 game he didn’t make the squad

7 times he’s sat on the bench and not got off it.

3 times he’s come off the bench for a grand total of 44 minutes.

He’s not played since Cardiff away where he got 8 minutes on February 2nd.

Now we’re safe surely we either give him game time or bring some of our own youth players in who we think could step up.

    Baffling loan so far.

Taking a place that one of own academy players could have.

The next Tomlin. We’ll spend big on him to back Manning, and he’ll revert to L1 standard at best whilst being undroppable due to the fee and being Manning’s man.

    Not another of these optimists.

Where’s all this “acid test”, “big game” etc stuff coming from.  It’s a fairly meaningless end of season game.  Hope we play well, hope we win, but depending on other results, the best we can hope for us to jump up to 11th.  Hardly earth shattering stuff.

I would have thought it was important for Manning. Can he follow up a good performance with another one and begin to show if he has what it takes to manage a club in the championship. If not it is further evidence of the fact he was a very poor choice. So for him a lot to play for and it would surely be good for the players as well.

Gives Grealish half an hour yesterday then rips him a new one on the pitch after the game and in front of all and sundry.

I suppose it comes with thinking your untouchable as a manager but I thought it was wrong. Fergie would never have done it.

And I thought Doku was even worse than Grealish. Couldn't shoot to save his life and didn't create anything.

When you see what has happened to Grealish and Phillips as players it makes you wonder if it is always the best club to sign for. Although winning loads of trophies they have both declined as players.

    Imagine my shock.

It’s almost like he’s been struggling with tendinitis pretty much since signing & the stuff Tinnion said about a pre season was utter horseshit, isn’t it?

Tinnion is an expert in spouting horseshit. Si no surprise really

I feel sorry for someone prepared to get that upset about a detail on a football shirt, smaller than a postage stamp.

And who thinks a symbol is what makes a nation, and gives it pride.

Then you feel sorry for me then. So often English people are dissuaded from flying the flag of St George as it implies we are right  wing fanatics or so the media would have you believe. All other countries can wave their flags with no such accusations. And now  they have changed the flag all together. Yet another attack on our history and tradition which is constantly being chipped away at.

Money is too tight to mention round these parts so when we do spend it, we have to spend it wisely.  With the blessing of hindsight can we really say we are where we need to be recruitment wise?  To spend £10m on the below, is it good enough?

    Knight - £2m

    McCrorie - £2m

    Gardner-Hickman - £1.5m

    Mehmeti.- £1m

    Dickie - £800k

    Cornick - £500k

Twine, Mebude, Stokes, Murphy - all signed for short or long term - circa £1-1.5m spent I’d guess.

Seems a mixed bag at best to me

Still see what we spent on McCrory and compare it to money spent on Tanner and cannot understand why. Tanner seems a belter option.

Am I alone in thinking I'm in the silent majority that are pretty fed up with the current situation, unhappy at how the Pearson situation was handled BUT completely willing to wait til next season to judge manning (where he WILL be judged from game 1 onwards)?

Theres a lot of noise about manning out etc but do most fans feel like me ?

Not looking to knock anyones opinion (2024 has been dreadful and masked from looking even worse by the FA cup), just sometimes the loudest voices portray a larger sentiment than the reality.

What worries me is that although he is clearly not up to the job you seem to be willing to let him spend our transfer money in the summer.

I'm genuinely starting to think that the majority of posters on here would rather we play badly so they can carry on their obsession with criticising Manning rather than he actually turns things around.

It's getting ridiculous. Yes, his press conferences are a bit monotone. So what, I couldn't care less.

It all seems to get so personal. He's clearly passionate, hard working and hungry for success.

The contents of this forum will filter through to him and the team, directly or indirectly. What do you think this constant negativity will achieve, other than drag down morale within the team?

If Manning does get success, which I appreciate most have already dismissed, do you think he'll be sticking around for long after this unjustified campaign of personal abuse?

Wish there was a happy clapper forum in existence. Potentially misjudged optimism seems preferable to this obsession with negativity and abuse.

He must have known having to follow Pearson would bring challenges but I bet he never thought it would still be going on.

Where and when has he shown passion. He seems to completely lack any and during games looks lost on the sidelines. As to worrying about whether, he would not want to stay here if successful, that made me laugh. How you can watch how we play and where the team is now and worry about such things is beyond me.

I don't care if I get shot down, that's fine, but I am sick of the negativity towards Tinnion.

I love the guy.  Pure and simple, he's a city legend and was in the team for my first four years as a fan and had a left peg I absolutely worshipped.

Anyway, I'm not here to talk about his football legacy, I think it's cruel and unfair the way he's treated on here, quite often as a figure of fun and with his intelligence and communication skills being mocked and belittled, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

He's not our enemy, he's our ambassador, he's a man who's gave most of his working career to our club, even though being a Geordie and having no previous affinity to the club.

We know he's not the best fit for the job he currently has, but he had the ambition to go for it, the same as his stint as a manager, he wasn't up to speed, but he had the ambition and drive to go for it.  I respect and love that.

It's not his fault if he's not right for the job, it's up the people above him if they feel he should be replaced.

Personally, I want him in charge of the academy, that's his best fit and hopefully he will be back there sometime in the future - back within his comfort zone.

But in the meantime, he will definitely be giving everything to the club and deserves much more respect and our support.

You don't have to love Pearson and hate Brian, you can appreciate them both!

And even though I don't agree with Manning being our gaffer, I can see the reasons why he was recruited.

He is the lapdog of the Lansdowns. Slavishly supporting them in their destruction of our football team. Happy to help get Pearson out the door when he knew full well what a tough job he had done and the constraints he was under. Helping to bring in a League 1 manager who is not up to the job and who appears not to be interested in the Academy which Tinnion has done a great job on and had been one of the few things we could take pride in in the last few years. Is he now going to allow Manning to close the pathway down. I loved the bloke as a player and could accept he gave his best as a Manager, although clearly falling short. But this latest version, over promoted and selling out Pearson and propagating the Lansdowns BS I dislike and hope he leaves with the Lansdowns

On most of this seasons performances don’t think TC or Pring would be that much of a loss , both have failed to kick on this season in my eyes

I honestly believe under Pearson they would have but under this clown no chance.

    Superb post.

Board members who attack Manning in childish terms or use non-important stuff to have a go at him - thinning hair, "boring" voice - undermine their own argument.

We have quite enough ammo against him - the way he's coaching our players to play and the in-game football decisions he makes.

As a young manager, we hope he learns from mistakes and improves. Just as we do with young players.

Anyone wanting us to lose games to "remove Manning" needs to, as they say, give their head a wobble. We are City. I want us to win every game we play.

What a situation to be in again. A young Manager having to learn from his mistakes and improve. Unfortunately at Bristol City's expense. Ludicrous appointment.

If I was an ST holder then I'd renew. I think the summer and next season will be interesting.

I'll certainly be renewing my membership and RTV.

I haven't seen anything that Manning has done or said that is remotely interesting. Bland, simplistic and stupid yes.

    Who’s next in charge then?

Big summer ahead - a big clear out - some players already signed. Think Conway will go north.

Who could blame any player from wanting to get away from an imbecile like Manning. I cannot see many wanting to stay or indeed many wanting to come.

So.. we have an owner who has lost interest.. his son as chairman who has no interest at all in football… a technical director whom failed miserably as manager whilst we were in a lower division and a head coach whom has never played the game professionally? What could possibly go wrong?

Manning could be Manager next season having been given money to spend in the summer.
