Those stressing should just find something else to do and come back at 11pm to see who we’ve signed! Patience people
Exactly. The club is potentially signing 4 players but yet there is apparently STILL something to moan about!
I would suggest people are excited rather than moaning and comments are in jest.

Closer to the £10k I would think, I heard from someone who knows someone that Max is on that plus a £1k clean sheet bonus
I’m not having O’Leary is on 10k a week.

Has got a bit of the Albert Adomah’s about it this one.
Do love a lower league gem with room to grow.
Still confident Kane Wilson will come good in time.

Christ, a lot of negative reaction to the initial post
Put it into context though, mate,
Clubs like Brighton and Brentford currently play in the Premier League and compete with top 6 sides regularly (both beating traditional top 6 sides this season). They wouldn't be excited about simply playing a top 6 team in the cup.
Clubs like Norwich and WBA regularly play in the Premier League and regularly have top 6 sides come their grounds. They wouldn't be THAT excited about simply playing a top 6 team in the cup.
Sure, it's an exciting tie. But to jump for joy because "WE GET TO PLAY MAN CITY!!!!" is a reaction you'd generally associate with a lower league team. It is a little bit tinpot.
Also, I rather hate the idea of my club potentially being humiliated on live TV.
No, but objectively (<< important word here!), I'm not convinced this is the best tie for the club for the reasons stated.
No idea if that's true mate, but generally in cup games I think the gate receipt is split 45% to each team and 10% to the FA.
I.E playing Man C away would be very good re gate receipts. Playing Man C at home is far worse re gate receipts.
Obviously that's softened a bit if we do get selected for TV coverage (no idea if your £300k is an accurate figure for that or not?)
Few bits in bold which should provide some clarity.
We ARE lower league though and don’t play the sides regularly (like the aforementioned teams have/do), hence why there is a buzz around it.

Why on earth do you think season ticket holders are going to get two each? The maths doesn’t even work.
Calm down, Chip. You’ll get your ticket

- Little chance of progressing to next round. (and hence no reward money)
- Potential to get battered.
- No massive gate receipt as it's a home tie (roughly half of which goes to Man C)
Maybe some money if we get selected for TV coverage - no idea how much that would be?
Interesting/exciting tie? Yes.
"Good" tie? I'm not so sure.
(Also, it does look a little bit tinpot when some of our fans get SO excited about simply playing Man City.)
Tinpot? By playing the most successful side in recent history which potentially will feature a WC winner and the most lethal striker across Europe currently? Course mate

Wonder if a draw like this provides an added incentive for players to join (not cup-tied).

Unless we sell a huge amount of memberships between now and then it will make general sale
I can’t see it making general sale. Presume season ticket holders will be able to purchase more than one ticket each.

If we don’t get Spurs on BBC, then I’ll try ITV4.

Thanks - would’ve been waiting for it on ITV4 ahead of the Derby game !!

Is the draw on the box?

They won’t stay up, though, so that’s money we won’t see IMO.
Agreed. Yet if he takes his chance and hits the ground running we’ll see a decent sell on fee in the summer.

I just have a weird feeling that he's gonna end up at Palace.
I think Pearson purposely told the media Bournemouth had had a bid accepted in an attempt to get Palace to make a last minute bid.
Same.

4 goal contributions in 19. 1 goal, 3 assists not particularly exciting.
Neither was Wilbraham.

Providing we stay up 9m is decent business.

Appreciate women’s football is different but having been battered 6 nil, could you imagine the stick the blokes would get if they came over to the stands after the game smiling for photos

Hopefully we’ll get an extra 100k for Massengo with that single clip too.

Bristol’s Saturday football scene is good. It used to have one of the highest number of players in the country aside from London, iirc. Not sure it makes much difference to numbers playing on a Sunday though. All kids football is on a Sunday morning/afternoon which again, has high levels of participation.
Fair point.

It was the same in the week of the Swansea game, ticket sales were slow but still had a decent gate considering ko time and it being on a Sunday.
I actually think Sundays are a benefit for numbers. Bristol has a decent local football scene on a Saturday which means many miss out.

Go on...
Probably the fact that Diaz contributes regularly with goal involvements and is one of the more desired forwards in the division. Provides consistent contribution on a match day. The same can’t be said of Massengo - has often flattered to deceive (when selected)..

Let’s get that stick ready to beat him with.
The guy up until yesterday has worked pretty much on a shoestring. After the Aug 2023 window I’d agree.
