Oh was that him!!! Brilliant. I reckon Andy sensed blood again on Saturday!!

Seriously, I’d like to think Radio Bristol would keep him on our games for a while. He’s just the man for what are becoming turbulent times.

I thought it was out of the ordinary for RB to be asking more pressing questions. Was good to see (finally!). Fair play to Andy Howard if that is his name.

I agree. People on here having a pop, but they're more than welcome to join the podcast as @headhunter has already said he would welcome it, but, nope, its easier to just mock him on here behind a username. @W-S-M Seagull knows he can go on, instead he would prefer to listen to the pod twice and take notes rather than DM @headhunter.

    Cowards.

I don't agree to everything he says, but it’s his opinion. Is he rude, yeah, but no different to everyone talks to each other on here. At least he doesn't hide and has the bottle to actually say it.  Do an agree with him, no, but do I respect that has at least go the balls to face up. Yes.

People not allowed an opinion if they don’t go on? It’s a public podcast isn’t it?

6 points yes but lots of teams.  Do you not accept that 6 points where we are and 6 points if we were 21st are completely different?

Pretty sure the gas were just as complacent when they ended up tumbling out the league. Our league form is awful and a few of those below have picked up results. Whilst it may seem unlikely, it can’t be ruled out.

  4. I think it shows what a sterling job Pearson was doing here by holding it together. His experience appears to of been papering over the club cracks. Now he’s departed, we have a load of novices running the football/club operation. It’s been exposed.

    Who then?

To be fair there appeared to be a handful of new posters who joined the forum around Pearson’s departure/Mannings arrival. Blowing smoke up Mannings arse (seemed strange at the time - unless they were also watching Oxford week in week out) and putting down Pearson’s time/ethos here. Can’t remember their names as we’ve probably not seen much of them since Boxing Day.

Yes it was poor, but even amongst the numerous negatives there are aways some positives, and they are:

     - We were not outplayed and looked fairly solid in midfield and defensively

    - We restricted them to a couple of chances (yes they scored from one)

    - They scored against the run of play

    - If we can improve things in the final third, we will be much better

    - we have some decent players waiting to come back who should really improve things.

    What is the FFS emoji?

  7. He actually said on his RB interview he takes responsibility and won’t throw the players under the bus. Then goes on to rid himself of blame and lays it pretty much at the players feet. Cannot stand his interviews. Perhaps if we were decent to watch and were picking up points they’d be easier to put up with.

Think the probability is today’s side is going to be very similar (possibly identical) to last week’s.

With James presumably out & Bell definitely so, there aren’t many options.

I think Mehmeti & TGH could consider themselves very fortunate to start after last week but unless we shoehorn Roberts & Pring in, or ask Sykes to play on the left & include McCrorie, there isn’t an alternative.

Basically as all season we are relying on the same 12 or so, especially now Bell’s season is over.

Which when you consider our transfer window, it baffles me to think Tinnion stated it positive one. We needed bodies for the here and now. Blokes delusional.

Anyway… fingers crossed for a reaction and some fight today.

    Team for tomorrow:

    O’Leary

    McCrorie Vyner Dickie Pring

    Williams James

    Knight

    Sykes Wells Conway

what I think LM will pick

I really do think it’s mad that Tanner isn’t in the right back spot (appreciate this is what you think LM will start with). Tanner has been one of, if not our most consistent and steadiest performers over a good couple of months. I will be incredibly disappointed if we try to shoehorn Conway in on the left of a three.

Twine was never going to drag us into the playoffs I would have rather seen the money spent on bringing in more younger players like Stokes, Bird,  Murphy etc.  Mebude is worth the gamble, but BT & LM really should have managed fans expectations considering his lack of experience

I would rather we signed players for the here and now, regardless of their age (within reason).

The more we learn of Mebude - it was always going to be a gamble. The lad has barely played senior football. The same will be said of Stokes and Murphy. I can’t imagine they’ll be regulars for us until the season after next at the earliest. We often appear to sign players for tomorrow - tomorrow rarely comes. At least for City.

For me, this is an opportunity to see whether the players we intend keeping are good enough.

Do we agree we are most likely losing King, James, Wells, ( obviously Weimann ) maybe Williams, and most likely Twine won't be here next season.

So as much as I'd want them to play, what's the point in playing them? They have nothing to play for...they won't be judged on their ability in these last games.

Put out a team that will be here next season. Play them how you want them to play. If they don't succeed, you will know they aren't good enough, and that you still need experience and older heads to lead.

We have nothing to play for...what will Manning learn from playing players that he has no intention of using next season.

Disagree with these statements although I do understand your point, however I want us to finish as strongly as possible. If we do, there is a chance that those in the prospective signings pot who may be 50/50 on joining - see the upward trend and are enticed into signing. If we have a poor finish and look like relegation fodder for the following season, it will make it increasingly difficult to sign a better calibre of player (unless we pay over the odds).

Manning has to finish positively not just for him, but for the players who are staying and those we may sign.

You’re talking about two games which have obviously been underwhelming. But that doesn’t mean the entire spell has been?

He’s won 2 league games out of 10. That’s pretty underwhelming for me.

I take my hat off to you fella, in respect of your optimism.

Of course, I hope Manning can get us on track as that means a successful Bristol City. I have huge reservations though.

I don’t really agree it’s been underwhelming, a lot of it is as expected because we have a mid table squad. Pearson done a good job stabilising the club but I’m personally behind Manning

How can you not find it underwhelming? We’ve just lost to two side in the bottom 3 and the results could’ve been more convincing. I ask what is making it even “standard/middle-whelming” for you?

Did you watch the last 2 fixtures?

  14. 1 minute ago, Charlie BCFC said:

But also these are the same players who had these poor runs? Everyone gave Pearson a chance (rightly so) with that god awful squad in 20/21. Why doesn’t Manning get the same patience?

Because Manning has a nigh on full compliment of players at his disposal and took over a side that was solid enough albeit unfashionable. Pearson took over a shambles of a club not just a side.

That said……:cool2:…….this season is pretty much over and Manning will have the summer window to offload and strengthen the squad. He’ll then have the entire preseason ‘on the grass’ to work on implementing his methods ready for next season - he won’t have any excuses should things not go to plan.

Because of that I’m prepared to get behind him and review how we’re doing around 10-12 games in.

My concern with this is we allow him to sign a deluge of players (as per his previous history) and after 10-12 games when it hasn’t worked, we are left with a raft of players on 3 year deals who the next manager doesn’t see fit. Rinse, repeat and so on…
