The soft BC are back, after all Nigel’s hard work
Engvall’s Splinter replied to Shauntaylor85's topic in Football Chat
Because Manning has a nigh on full compliment of players at his disposal and took over a side that was solid enough albeit unfashionable. Pearson took over a shambles of a club not just a side. -
My concern with this is we allow him to sign a deluge of players (as per his previous history) and after 10-12 games when it hasn’t worked, we are left with a raft of players on 3 year deals who the next manager doesn’t see fit. Rinse, repeat and so on…

No one is suggesting we didn’t have these runs, but are respectfully questioning why make the change in manager, if we aren’t going to see less of these poor runs. -

Plenty have been stating their concerns on here pre and post Southampton, however have been shot down by a few. -

I think the most frustrating thing for me is that the fan base and club are back to being divided. Under the previous regime, expectations were managed well, we were gradually progressing and seeing an influx of youngsters come through. It felt relatively solid. Pretty much as solid since Cotterills league winning season. The owners and that tosser Tinnion have ripped it up and that is unforgivable. We are a mess again (already!). -

I think those continually dismissing the thoughts of @W-S-M Seagull, would do well to acknowledge many of his concerns. Fortunately the early season points will see us safe here, however I’ve little confidence this pretender will have us in anything other than a relegation battle next season. He already looks lost and somewhat exposed at this level. Nothing but an ego and vanity project by Messrs Tinnion and Lansdown. Whether the change of manager needed to be made or not, it’s clear Manning is the wrong appointment for us to progress. -

Vyner looks a shadow of the player he was at the moment. Man management I guess. -

Regardless of Knight’s goal, they have had the better of the first 25 minutes. -
Absolutely he did. Therefore, a change was made for progression and immediately at that. JL stated the change was made so our season still would have something in it. It’s February and our season has pretty much finished already.

The double standards are embarrassing from IG. However, it probably comes with the territory now he’s one of Tinnions little pawns. Probably says more about Tinnion, if he feels feeding Ian Gay (of all people) will pacify supporters.

Remain unconvinced on Manning and it will take more than a back to back wins amongst sustained winless runs to change that. I enjoyed the fixtures against premier league opposition and the saints, however it’s the fixtures against the likes of QPR and the bottom half where Manning really needs to earn his corn. In the large majority of his games so far, as many have stated, his in game management has left a lot to be desired.

I actually think he read it out last week @Davefevs

Substitutions and (again) game management
Engvall’s Splinter replied to Silvio Dante's topic in Football Chat
I’m with @Harry. On average during his time here, he’s probably at a 6.5/10. He’s shown glimpses that he has something, but not enough to bring forward the deal to sign him in Jan. I’m not actually convinced Manning is totally sold on him despite the club completing the deal. As fans I think sometimes a players personality and club “buy-in” can give extra points, rather than it being solely based on the quality and consistency of their performances. -
We were abysmal today. I’d rather he blew up on 70 minutes and put us out our misery.

Strange post. Id like our club to have a season again in the top tier. Probably like most, right? A season up there would secure our future for a couple of years, may speed up additional investment, raise the profile, further consolidate the youth of Bristol as reds. If you are really talking about this season, I’d like to see progression. That’s what we’ve been sold. Therefore, top 8.
