  1. It certainly becomes a possibility that they may look at Scott due to their increasing need to achieve homegrown status. They were already close to the minimum requirement, and Henderson’s departure would only enhance their need to recruit players that have progressed through homegrown academies.
  2. Sell on clauses are often based on a percentage of any profit made from the previous transfer. If Scott were to leave us for say £20m (with a 20% sell on clause), and Bournemouth then went on to sell him for £40m, we would only be entitled to a 20% share of the £20m profit that Bournemouth had made. Therefore only securing us a further £4m. Which takes us to around the point of our rumoured asking price anyway.
  3. How long until a 2nd team makes a bid? Seem to be rumours of lots of clubs monitoring the situation, let’s see who is desperate to sign him.
  4. £15m is a joke of an offer. Don’t insult us, our price has been made clear since the start of the window. We are a few weeks out from the start of the season. Why would they expect us to drop our asking price by almost half for our prize asset? Pay the fee, get the player.
  5. I love this story. Apparently once Leeds senior figures left the room, both player and agent burst into laughter.
  6. John Percy has spoken!!!! £2m fee for Knight, possiblity that Kane Wilson moves the other way.
  7. More money for Wolves from the Nathan Collins (Brentford) deal. Talk of a £35m bid from Napoli for Max Kilman as well. They now need to replace Neves, Moutinho, Collins and Adama Traore.
  8. I think @iamalagerdrinker is referring to the Joe Ward signing. The rumour was that Derby initially wanted Wilson, but didn’t want to pay the fee. They then signed Ward instead. Would make sense to test them by including Wilson in the deal.
  9. West Ham are making their move according to sources at their end. (ExWHUemployee - via West Ham (C)entral - TWITTER) Interesting dynamic now, as we know they have money to spend. Meet the asking price, or no deal. I’ll be sad to see Scott go, as he’s a brilliant young player, who will only get better and better. But, If he is to leave, at least we will have the majority of the window to strengthen the squad, instead of last minute panic buys.
  10. They network closely with ‘ExWHUexployee’ who is extremely reliable. They state that the interest is genuine, but have only held conversations with Scott’s representatives at the moment. There is also reported interest from PSG for Lucas Paqueta. This could push West Ham into requiring 3+ new midfielders (Rice, Paqueta and Lanzini - Released) would all need replacing. Scott, Zakaria, Ward-Prowse, Onana and Paulinha are the names mentioned.
  11. Samual Iling-Junior is currently at Juventus, and doing well. English youngsters are getting more opportunities abroad, and all credit to them for doing so. I always remember Ray Wilkins speaking on Talksport that English players (if not getting opportunities at prem teams) should make the Premier League buy back their talent. And that’s what’s now happening on a more regular basis. Unfortunately, English clubs don’t have the patience required for young talents. Instead they will go and spend £30m on a player the same age from Spain etc.
  12. Think this accelerates in the next few weeks. West Ham and Wolves (FFP aside) both look set to come into some money. If one, or both make a move for Scott, then this might also spark others into action. As it stands, I would be very surprised (and delighted) if he were to still be here this season.
  13. Our midfield needs a runner. We currently lack an ‘intense’ press from the middle of the pitch. Conway is fantastic at pressing the defence, but often once that 1st line is broken (past Conway), then it’s relatively comfortable for the opposition when in possession. Weimann and Knight would allow us to maintain that intensity, and not give the opposition a moments rest.
  14. Percy is also friendly with Nige’s agent if I’m correct? Seems to have been reporting on us a lot more during Nige’s tenure.
  15. I struggle with this. The selling club will set a price during the early stages of the negotiation. I don’t believe we would make 2 bids without the intention of getting close or matching said price. I would expect a fee to be agreed with the next bid submitted.
  16. Unfortunately this is the worst possible scenario. 1. Next summer, he will have 12 months left on his contract. 2. Value will decline due to contract length. 3. Top 4 team offers no re-sell value in regards to ‘sell on %’. If he leaves this summer, it’s with our best wishes and a hefty fee to match. Otherwise, the best we can hope for is he renews his contract for a further 12 months, with a fixed release clause fee (£25m etc).
  17. If we manage to complete this one, then I’m delighted. It would be one of the best transfer windows for quite some time. Our squad would look much stronger, with genuine competition for places. Pearson and Tins know exactly who they want. Knight fits the description from Tins ‘Sound of the City’ interview.
  18. Appreciate the feedback about Roberts. His signing is a step in the right direction for us. Our signings seem to highlight a range of age groups to help balance the squad. He seems composed for someone so young, and represents low-risk with the potential of high-reward. I’m interested to get your opinion on Knight and Bird this summer. Do you have hope of keeping them? And if not, where would be their most likely destination? (Top end champ / mid table etc)
  19. Fantastic early business! I believe that the 3 signings are following on from the Semenyo sale. This has allowed us to address key areas of the squad, and add depth to the defence. Further business will centre around Scott. As most of us expect, a sale is the most likely outcome. This should allow us to further improve 2/3 positions. I could see another 4 players arriving through the rest of the summer. plus however the Kalas situation plays out. Personally, I see him staying.
  20. Very good summery, and sounds rather similar to a young Joe Bryan. A good leap, and winning headers from a wide position.
  21. You realise players don’t sign on the same day that they talk to the manager? It’s a much longer process than that. I would expect it to be completed this week.
  22. Yes I think so. The news broke in France and was confirmed not long after. Think he joined the squad on tour immediately, and official announcement took place there.
  23. Can’t remember too many Saturday signings in recent years. I think Joe Williams might have been the last?
  24. I enjoy these types of signings. Lots of potential, and comes here on a free transfer. Derby fans rated him highly last season, so let’s hope he can relocate that here. Very happy with the early work done in this transfer window.
