I think that#s more about the relatively late announcement. We only have so many fans who will be attending, and I suspect a lot of fans (myself included) might have chosen the Atyeo over elsewhere in the ground had we known earlier.

Low numbers in there will be food and drink to those who promote giving the whole stand over to away fans.

POTD will bump it up I guess?

Fair points but should a game of this magnitude make POTD? I thought it would have sold out by now, I think the club anticipated that also otherwise they wouldn't have used the Atyeo as overflow.

Winners at Sheffield Utd. Winners in the rain at Middlesbrough.

3-0 up after 15 minutes against West Brom.

We finish 3-2 with the Snake getting booked for pissing about 😂. All is good. We’re back on.

    Fast forward a few days.

Effectively the same players and we get a point from Reading and nuffink from Sheffield Wednesday.

Highlight of the day was a pint of Farmers Blonde and the humbling experience of Lepping Lane.

    How can that be?

I’m as confident though now as I was when  Dick interviewed us for RB before the game.

    Aden we’s a cumming.....

That's the Championship. If the trend was to follow we'd beat Derby Saturday, here's hoping...

I've got to be honest, I've always taken my seat just as the players enter the pitch. There is just no reason to take my seat before that time. Infact the entrance music is my cue to leave the concourse.

Saturdays game is not going to change that.

As have I mate, I rarely arrive at AG before 2:55 and rarely stay in my seat at HT as I find all the pre-match and half time ongoings are getting more and more Americanised and a little bit like the Reading FC matchday experience whenever I've visited as an away fan.

  4. It's been well documented on here and social media that the Ashton Gate atmosphere hasn't quite been what it can be over the last 7/8 months, and there have been various different attempts to improve it, one of which closing the bars 15 mins before KO to ensure people take their seats early.

The atmosphere against West Brom was very good and pulled the players through, you could see how appreciative they were at the end from their reactions, and the same needs to happen again Saturday in front of what looks like will be a sell out Ashton Gate.

My request, however, is this — before the Man City game we had the music turned off and didn't have Downsy screaming down the mic at us informing us of the date umpteen times, and the atmosphere pre-match was very decent and set the tone as the players came out. Can we do the same again @Matt Parsons BCFCSLO? It gives people an incentive to go to their seats rather than staying in the concourse with a pint. Even if our support gives an extra 1% Saturday to the players that could well be the difference, we need to make use of home advantage again as that seems to be beyond us this season.

    Cheers.

He’ll be on Talksport this morning explaining to Alan Brazil that it's down to passion.

Brazil won’t care, he’ll be more worried about missing first orders at some west end boozer.

    Ha, couldn’t write it....

  7. Surprised the outcome of the poll is more positive than negative given the time it was posted, think it'd be even more so if it had been posted once everyone had settled down and reflected on the game.

I'm not sure why but I just worry about Boro, however poor the management may be their squad is very good for this level and pulls them through. It'll go to the wire atm, and if I'd have been offered that in August I'd have taken it.

Anyone know what sort of allocation we are likely to get for this one?

2,400. It's easy enough to buy tickets in the home end there if needs be; whether we'd need that or not I don't know even if we needed something from the game. Such a poor kick off time.

Then you could have just said that, it just reads they don't want us in the EFL well to me anyway, hope your feeling better and don't have too much of a hangover.

Haha I was fine when I woke up. Wasn't too heavy a day in the end, we went into the ground at 2 for a drink only to realise they weren't serving....

I think even the EFL would be embarrassed by that shambles of a Ref today, should be struck off after that.

    Truly awful.

Also noticed how all the mainstream media Sky/BBC haven’t mentioned that the penalty was dubious, only how it was a throughly deserved win for Villa etc.

Absolutely mate. **** them, they don’t want us there.
