You appear to be trying to use facts to change how people feel about Bristol City. Or about life in general, including Bristol City. Once someone forms the view that City are to be worried about - or are "agitated" - you have about as much chance of changing that view with yer xG and yer stats and numbers as ..... (something massively improbable)

Yes, Nige left us with a top end if not in fact a top six defence, at least from number of goals conceded. LM was - supposedly - hired to sexy up the attacking end, get us a bit easier on the eye, front-foot if you like, than Nige's rugged, solid few-frills teams. LM was hired to build upon the solid defensive base Nige bequeathed him (as well as the transformed "culture" and team ethic), but, er, it hasn't come to "pass" just yet. Maybe Sunday it will ....

Hiring McKenna was definitely Mark Ashton?

I think we were still top after 42 games (?) but party because those below us had a game or two in hand. I still have a newspaper cutting of the table with us P42 and top, four games to go. Steve Lansdown has come nowhere near since, it was a freak season, more accident than design. We fell away in a similar fashion under the younger Johnson missing out on 6th in 18/19.

Ipswich Town away match thread

Yeah but on the other hand we haven't had any time since Saturday to be well coached up Failand, and like practice stuff -
Did the Few fire ..... Bobby Campbell? Bobby Gould? .... whoever it was after their 0:9? No seismic change at Eastville back then that I recall, think they just tootled along like nothing terribly untoward had taken place. I expect Peter Godsiff cheered them all up by writing something nice, telling them how "special" a club they were ....

I just hope - and long for - Sheff, Burnley and Luton to be relegated, while Leicester, Leeds and Southampton go up. And next season, Leicester, Leeds and Southampton flounder and are relegated, whilst Burnley, Sheffield Utd and Luton go up (thinking we'll be nowhere near)

They've literally lost the fan base...

Only someone that played for Wroxham, Long Melford, Melton St Audrey and Ipswich Wanderers and managed Milton Keynes in League One can stand in front of our Championship lads and say that sort of thing .... -
I'm just hearing a song for S82 in this thread here ..... "It's a model und it's not looking gùt I'd like to take it home und try and understand wtf we're doing; We play hard to beat It works from time to time; It only takes a soft goal from a corner to Change things tactically at half-time ..... Tommy's out in nightclubs drinking just champagne, And he's been checking out all the men (representing interested clubs) He's playing Liam's game und you can hear us say, It's not looking gùt, for Tommy they will pay (Keyboard synthesiser ) ...... We always appear to be trying to do what someone else did successfully elsewhere, without any success. A pale imitation of something that worked elsewhere. I don't think Jon, or Steve, or Brian have an original or unique football idea between them

Strumming our pain with his fingers, he is mate -
Yeah, nice post. Here's my thoughts:

Let's be honest, Steve is a nice chap but dull. And Bristol City are quite nice, and quite dull. We need livening up
-
That isn't why they were promoted though, I sense it is important to say here.

Now streaming on Robins TV: "Never The Twine," a behind-the-scenes football club sh*tcom starring Liam Manning as Donald Sinden and Brian Tinnion as Windsor Davies.
