  1. Imagine his children were starting or in school about the time he was here so stayed put for that?
  2. Yes, every week they appear to be having a lively game at Home Park, and few problems finding the back of the net, or creating opportunities. Maybe it'll be different next season. You just wonder how we find creating opportunities and putting them away so difficult given we have been at this level for years.
  3. It's not many goals, is it. Not a lot of "action," not in the opposition's penalty area. I notice that Plymouth, newly promoted Plymouth, have scored twice as many as us at home. You might expect Leicester or Leeds to score that many more than us, but Plymouth? Perhaps Preston and Millwall get all the way down to Devon and the sea air goes to their heads and they "bomb" forward with gaya abandon, like they never do here. I don't know. But dear me - to borrow from another thread - how bleedin hard is it (for us) to score goals? And it's not just Manning, it has been four or five seasons of largely dour football served up at Ashton Gate. It's a wonder the attendances continue to be around 20,000. In previous times, crowds would've dropped off significantly given such poor standard of attacking football.
  4. Wrexham look shit Dave, what's all the bleedin fuss with them?
  5. What was it Groucho said about going on like this all night, but ..... summat to do with his suspenders
  6. Russ had gorgeous hair, and still cuts a distinguished dash. Mrs Osman was a lovely thing too (when I last saw her), her hair was pretty impressive too
  7. Love to know what that was like ....
  8. What was Andi Weimann's header at Sheffield Utd like, Dave?
  9. He needs to go out on loan this lad ..... to someone in L1 next season
  10. We mightn't always show it but we do know how lucky we are, as the Rovers Blue Few thread will testify ....
  11. When Nige was moved along, the club came out and told us whoppers. Which has resulted in some/many doubting just about everything they do/say. You reap what you sow, at the end of the day ....
  12. Moving Bristol City fans around Ashton Gate in the hope of transforming the atmosphere, is akin to moving the deck chairs around the Titanic in the hope of making it to New York. Wherever we are in the ground v Watford we just will not be as excited as we were against West Ham. If City fans were to be in the Atyeo tomorrow the atmosphere will not be as good as Tuesday, even if we win 2:0 or 3:0. It's what's happening on the pitch that either revs people up or sends them to the concourse/their phones. Tuesday's agricultural, up and at -em, old-school, get in to 'um **** 'em up style football alongside the slaying of a PL club, plus being under the lights, is (part of) what makes an atmosphere. Watford at home, with (probably), lots of technical possession football amongst the cbs and midfield around the middle of the pitch, does not an atmosphere make. Not even with us in the Atyeo.
  13. You sure, spud? Thought you said, last week, it was .... I forget now. Summat or other. Surely, what's wrong with this world, is people being so sure what's wrong with this world (ie other people), or something like that? Plus social media.
  14. "Let's have a look at what you could've won" :
  15. I will let you know, about 6/7 o clock Saturday .....
  16. Many older fans that recall the us beating Chelsea in this competition will have had their fill, by, now, after so many years, of this type of "ruffling a young boy's hair" coverage from one of the nationals. How we long to be the big gun getting turnt over by a tinpot and then going back to the big boy football at the top of the game .....
  17. Go: after Saturday; Stay: after last night; Watford? Let's see
  18. Those "tactics" being: Bowen, Antonio and others injured Joe Williams two-footing their "tempermentally" suspect forward and getting the desired reaction A poor back pass A visiting squad missing out on a few days in the warm sun away from Blighty in January and not really being "up for it" A referee seeing enough things how we wanted to see things Danny Ings Etc, and so on.
  19. And me. Walked back down it as well fair few times ....
  20. No-one's ever thought of or tried that before, and now JP's let the country know our unique philosophy. Doh
  21. Big John would've gone down though, wouldn't he? When the keeper took a swipe?
