  1. Prudence and Championship football to show for it.
  2. Bristol Post saying Villa wont stop. If the 2nd bid is rejected, there will be a "3rd, 4th or 5th bid".
  3. An increased bid to be made, so says the Mirror.
  4. Clubs don't make formal bids for players without encouragement. The agent will have been spoken to and the response would have been favourable. If it does anything it turns heads of players.
  5. Or maybe your wild speculation, is just that. EFL says Villa are compliant for 2018/19, subject to final audit. Standard stuff and absolutely nothing to see here
  6. Villa have not breached FFP accordingly to their chief executive at a fans meeting yesterday. The football league expected to confirm this apparently.
  7. This thread makes us look bitter and small time. Home fans not being as noisy as away fans, well I never.
  8. I hope LJ looks into why we only had one effort on target in the game or why crosses were relentlessly fired in unimpeded, why O'Leary was left exposed 11 times, why the shape was too loose to stop their winger and full back cutting in and overlapping, why their Hourihane (sp) a midfielder found himself unmarked 3 times in the six yard box to miss tap ins, rather than use a poor decision (and it was) as an excuse for why we weren't good enough in the biggest game of the season.
  9. What's wrong with Birmingham? My dog whistle alarm always goes off when people have a pop at Brum.
  10. We were lucky not to be smashed 4 or 5 again. If you dont think they deserved to win, you must have not made it out the concourse for the 2nd half. Their keeper didn't make a single save in 99 minutes of football. We weren't good enough. Awful descion for the penalty, but if that is all you hang your hat on and "but for" you're on a hiding to nothing.
  11. Yes, apart from the mountain of chances they created 2nd half and the few we did, there was nothing between the sides. If LJ really takes the hard done by approach into the post mortem of the game, then we're in trouble. It wasn't a penalty and that's hugely frustrating. The stills posted of Weiman's goal make it look offside. But what I find annoying is in 99 minutes of play, their keeper hasn't made a single save. That's why we lost.
  12. So by your own logic, they deserved the win as they scored more. They were just much better 2nd half. That's not an indictment of the side, realistically when you look at the budgets it's no surprise. You can match effort and endeavor and if that's there, you cant be too disheartened at being beaten by a better side, which going forwards, they were by a mile 2nd half.
  13. I'm lost. They had 5 or 6 gilt edged chances, O'Leary was world class...and they scored more...yet they didn't deserve the win? They're a cut above. We worked hard and competed for large spells, but 2nd half they were just better. It happens.
  14. 2nd best second half after it could have been 2-2 first half. They turned it up second half and their winger in particular caused all sorts of problems. Houriha could have had a hat trick. Credit to O'Leary after all the talk being he was the weak link, he stopped a repeat of last season. You want to get something out of Villa, like Weimann said, you need to score twice. One goal on target and not good enough. No shame in that. They created the most chances and took them?
  15. It was. But for O'Leary it would have been 5 again. Nowhere near them 2nd half.
