  1. That is Arsenal of Argentina, mind you. Arsenal of Highbury are an undeserved 15th.
  2. Looking at how it calculates rankings, it uses XG as one of the coefficients. If that's the case I'm surprised we aren't a lot lower.
  3. Sometimes I think the referees have a sweepstake going to see what is the worst decision they can make to get the steam coming out of Colin’s ears. I think we have a winner with the ref on Saturday. He was absolutely diabolical.
  4. I can’t understand why anyone who isn’t a fan would have affinity with a club founded on religious bigotry with such a disgusting record of hate and division. They should have been disbanded once and for all after their expulsion for fraud. You only had to look at the celebrations in Belfast to see that the bigotry is still alive and well.
  5. More about their dodgy dealings here.. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/feb/25/derby-takeover-silence-and-mounting-debts-how-did-it-come-to-this
  6. Why do people continually go on about Warnock and McCarthy? They both have jobs and won't be coming here. Thankfully in the case of the former.
  7. Mods. Can we find out the 3 people who voted for Tony Pulis and ban them from the forum please?
  8. We’ve already gone over the edge.
  9. This is obviously catching because I managed to pick up a back strain whilst watching the match last night. It's touch and go whether I'll be ready for the Cardiff match on Saturday.
  10. As other have said, this won't just be affecting our club but plenty of others. They will also be looking at what money they can get by selling players and offering lower wages on contract renewal. I think we'll find that the constant circle of players wages rising has come to a grinding halt and if some players are too greedy they may well find themselves without a club.
  11. You can see why Blackburn have been doing so well but tonight they’ve been quite wasteful. It’s quite a team that Mowbray has got together and they’ll be pushing for the playoffs.
  12. I have vague memories of Tom Richie squaring up to the giant Micky Droy sometime in the late 70s. It was quite comical. I think they both got sent off as well which seemed a bit unfair on Mickey Droy.
  13. How could we lose to Warmley 1-0 in February? Hollis out!
  14. According to the Grauniad, he has an autobiography out in which he describes Lee Johnson as a ‘cock’. Presumably that was during a loan period at Oldham where he played 3 games. Kenny recounts that period in his autobiography, The Gloves Are Off, where he details many other contortions during a career when he played nearly 600 matches for clubs as big as Sheffield United, Leeds and QPR despite personal trauma, a drugs-related ban and sometimes bizarre working relationships with assorted players, chairmen and managers, including Massimo Cellino (“he was determined to get me out”), Mark Hug
  15. Who’s idea was it to send Serge Gnabry on loan to Tony Pulis’s West Brom? Luckily he survived the experience.
  16. I think I'll be OK as I used to drink loads of this when I was a kid so I'm immune to it:
  17. Yes, the football is miserable at the moment and that is unacceptable to those of us who pay out quite a bit of money to see them play. But there are some mitigating factors that don't seem to get much discussion. We've sold our best players for the last 2 seasons. Yes we have had expensive replacements but trying to find a new system to fit them into can take quite a while. After all, look at Southampton over the past few years who went through a similar trauma. LJ has quite a lot of backroom staff who should be providing him with advice about the current problems with the team.
  18. I think SL would go for a manager from the lower divisions again - Michael Appleton most probably.
  19. Christ! I hope you’re joking. That would be like a return to the Pulis reign. I bet you probably wouldn’t mind if Tiny came back.
  20. That’s depressing. He’s 56 - I thought he was at least 10 years older than me but in reality I’m a few years older than him. Still find it hard to believe that I’m older than Nigel Farage and Andrea Leadsom.
  21. I was there as well. I think New York's Suicide were the 3rd support act with Alan Vega doing his Iggy Pop tribute act antagonising the crowd.
  22. I didn't say it was the reason if you bothered to read my post properly. I said it was one of the reasons and I agree it is a minor one compared to other causes such as the reduction in police funding and the shrinking of local authority budgets so that youth services have been shredded. The point I was alluding to was that you get politicians such as Gove admitting they sniffed cocaine at social events without bothering to acknowledge the consequences.
  23. Of course it's not correct. The guy is a member of UKIP and what he says is twisted to meet his political agenda. London has it's problems particularly in the level of knife crime but that is due to a multitude of reasons. One of them is the level of demand for class A drugs from the political classes who then condemn the violence that results from the gangs that supply them trying to maintain and expand their customer base.
  24. My Mum and Dads wedding was arranged for 7th Jan 1956, the same day that Rovers were playing Man Utd in the cup at the gasworks. My Mum's family was full of Rovers fans including her brother who played for Rovers reserves. They pleaded to re-arrange the wedding to another day so that they could go and see the match. My Dad was a City fan so he refused. According to the Rovers website that 4-0 win was the biggest result in the Rovers history. That doesn't really have a great deal of competition though, does it?
