Shame that the club haven't seen fit to post any tribute to a man who played over 200 games for us and is obviously fondly remembered by many. -

Stood at the Open End that day, heard the crack as his leg went. -

Was there at the back behind the open end goal, I remember the bizarre sight of all the players running to their own penalty area to congratulate the scorer. -
Remarkable how a sag p*sstake thread has now morphed into a thread about an obscure, eccentric novelty act from the late 60's.

Saw Tiny Tim at the 1970 Isle of Wight festival, totally bizarre! In a line up featuring the likes of Hendrix, The Doors and The Who, he had around half a million people singing along to 'Tiptoe Through the Tulips ' and 'There'll Always be an England '.

In Scotland at the moment and just travelled through Dumbarton, funny how that name brings a certain scouse jailbird to mind!

I was at that one, also saw him at Weston Winter Gardens.

Bands that became big that you saw early in small venues.

I remember seeing Tyrannosaurus Rex at the Colston when they were just a hippy acoustic duo, unfortunately for them the support was Fairport Convention at the time featuring Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson. Suffice it to say Mr.Bolan's duo were completely blown away! -

Saw Queen supporting Mott the Hoople at the Colston, Roxy Music supporting Hawkwind at the Locarno and The Eagles supporting Neil Young at the Hippodrome, all around '72/'73. -
Ah, memories of nights on the pavement, did that for Stones tickets at the Colston in '71 and also at the original Virgin shop at the Bearpit in '75 for Led Zep at Earl's Court.

R.I.P. Chris, City legend.

Going to the Levellers tomorrow (Saturday), love the Levellers but the big attraction for me is the amazing Peat and Diesel from Stornoway. Also on the bill is Selecter and Black Grape so should be something for everyone.

So different to the '80s when I went every year, we used to decide how many of us were going about a month before, then someone would collect the money (cash!) and toddle up to Rival records on Park Street and get the tickets, happy days!
