    Sounds bollocks to me.

11 games left so if he doesn’t feature again then I’ll believe it, but seeing as Manning said on Thursday that James was a doubt for today but he hoped he’d be back possibly by Tuesday, I doubt it very much.

    See wiemann,s recent comments

Was just looking through twitter and a thread where our friend Ian G was making an excuse for only having 7 subs. Said it was Manning sending messages to the board. However somebody on the thread said that Matty James is not injured and inferred that if he made 1 more appearance it would trigger a 1 year extension to his contract.

Anybody know if there is any truth in this ?

Off the back of wiemann,s comments about triggering a contract clause with us I would say your source is bang on.

I’ve never left early in 50 years of watching some dire city teams but under manning today was the fourth time I’ve let very early. Boring football with no end product. If I was Tommy or Naki I’d ask to leave tomorrow.

I was thinking on the way home how many of our better players are speaking to their agents and saying get me out of here?

    Who is buying Wells then?

Well although reported he has signed a 2 year deal we never really know the contents of that contract. Year 2 could be based on appearances or triggered by player or club.

Personally we need better than the current Wells otherwise next year will also be a struggle.

Do you think wells will be here next year. If he suddenly offered a 2 year deal elsewhere hopefully he will take it

Yes, it could.  A player revolt led by the likes of James, Wells, Kimg etc could see end of Manning.

if we fail to win in next 3 games, change will happen

None of those 3 will be here next season so that would not carry any weight

  6. I remember being at brentford prob 82 83 and about 15mins before kick off Bowles would leave the ground in full kit minus his boots and run down the road to the bookies and still get back for the start.

  7. Noticed still not fit enough for match day squad, talking to a burnley mate who stated his availability recorded not the best. They spent 4 mil on Twine and will want their money back. Even at 3 mil can we afford to spend 3 mil on a player who has already missed a few games for us? We already of a recent history of players who have struggled with injury.

QPR had 59% possession last night at Stoke, losing 0-1.

But there's no context to that, much of it may have been passing around the back for instance and they only had one shot on target (10 off) with an xG of .37 (for those that like xG).  In the context that Stoke had lost the previous 4 shipping 13 goals and scoring just 3, it was a disappointing game for QPR.

They've played 7 games this calendar year with 5 of them at home, winning their only other away game 2-1 at Blackburn. They've drawn away at Ipswich (0-0), and won at PNE (2-0), and also won at Middlesbrough (2-0) so they can pull off some excellent away results. But they are the exception rather than the rule, they've only scored 12 goals away and conceded 20.

Not an easy game as they are capable of springing a surprise as illustrated above, but we are rightly odds on favourites with most bookies and with the momentum we've built I'm expecting a win by two goals.

That was so bristol city been seeing results like that for 50 years. Very frustrating but at least the play off merchants might just settle for mid table this season.  I went to millwall on Wednesday and they are pulling their hair out.

Finally this could be our chance of putting a run together following back to back wins. If, and I know it's a big if but possible, we could win all 3, City could be in the top 6 before we play Ipswich away. Fingers crossed and enjoy the ride.

    COYR

Dont forget we never had much possession in our last 2 games. We will have the majority of possession on Saturday and we do tend to struggle at times. QPR will play us at our own game so let's see how we deal with it.

If they haven't then it says something about academy and pathway to first team. How many actually making it?

Think it says they must just might not be good enough. Both Morrell and Towler were moved on. Morrell took a while to find a place eventually with Pompey and Towler warning the bench. You have to trust that coaches know more than we do.

Can someone please tell me when the last time he did anything to justify his starting position 😡😡

Coz we are struggling upfront and manning is trying to find a solution to our lack of goals. He does not have much to choose from at the moment.

  12. About 12.30 did not really say to much. Stated Edwards for Millwall was an unknown as to whether it was risky appointment. Stated getting kids on loan from u20 set up would not work. Re us - the reporter covering story stated we were a stable championship club. Jordan thought our recent finishes were not all that special. Reporter came back and stated johnson had all the money and not Pearson.

Whole lot was prob less than 5 minutes

Dont remember anything being said about manning

  13. Re ownership, my burnley mates are not happy with the american ownership. SL being a local will have more connection with the club and the area than any foreign ownership, especially a company that may own other clubs in different countries. I always feel multi club ownership is a way of money laundering.

If someone wants to buy into the club then I would be happier with that.

Re new head coach- the correct appointment and getting key players back from injury could easily see us in and around top 10.

Without an out and out striker not good enough for top 6.

A top 10 finish could lead to player investment for next season.

Next 2 games will see how NP going has affected things.

Seems odd to sack him but I know more and more fans were getting disillusioned with the quality of the football. Sure he will get another job very soon

I suspect the former owners son is probably got someone lined up. Would not be suprised if we dont see an American coach coming in. They have never really been successful in english football.

For all our panic/negativity etc, we have 8 points from 5 games.  1.6 points per game.  Extrapolate that to 46 games and you have 73.6 points which is either in or very close to the play offs.

When you consider we've lost our best player, have significant players out etc, it's hardly a disaster is it?

We've had 2 poor performances IMO, one of which was a cup game.  We were definitely the better side v Hull and Preston as well and could have stolen a point at home to Birmingham.  In other words we are highly competitive.

Perhaps a few of us need to chill the **** out?

Look at the number of home wins over last 5 years, then look at home wins of teams that have finished in the play offs.  There is your problem.

All of those Indian citizens living in extreme poverty must be so proud.Much more important than feeding your people and providing basic sanitation I suppose.

Apparently between 2016 and 2021 uk gave them 2.3 billion in aid.

Not sourced this for myself but if true this needs to stop. When we no longer have food banks then maybe we can help out others.

Only 1,700 allocated? Why split that over two tiers? And surely that stand holds closer to 4k?

Coz they are expecting large turn out as a result of owners death.

I went to watch them tuesday night looked lively, especially Whatmore and Bryan in 2nd half.

@Kingswood Village so what do you think?

Robins or not or still sifting through the replies. Some are relevant to your question.

I was in there saturday with two burnley fans wearing their colours. On the basis last game sun shining and party atmosphere I reckoned it would be ok and it was. A lot of burnley outside. Spoken to by the police but once they realised we were mixed fans they were ok. On another day where the game really mattered why take the risk.

  19. Pearsons post match comments suggest to me he is unable to control or affect the performance on the pitch. Still require probably 4 to 6 points. Without regeneration of this squad for next year it's only going one way, with or without a possible points deduction. Pearson may not fancy another season like this, or the club if they can afford it may look elsewhere.
