  1. I would’ve liked JKL to get more game time this season as well don’t get me wrong. But there’s an obvious difference between the cardiff game in october and today. One we lost 2-0 and the other we drew 1-1. Obviously there are various other factors, on paper Cardiff probably have a better team, Huddersfield have a lot more to play for etc. But to call it the wrong decision in comparison to a game where we lost doesn’t make any sense to me?
  2. Especially when you consider the amount of money this squad has cost us. Of course it isn’t a pin point indicator but the purchase value of our squad is something like 16/17th in the league. To expect good performance every single week in one of the hardest leagues in europe, without being one of the top spenders is just silly imo. For a Leicester fan it’s understandable, not for us. As the saying goes, a sign of a good team is when they pick up points even when they aren’t playing well. Had a very good last few games, off the mark today and without a recognised CB yet still getting points is a plus imo, just have to make sure those performances are a rarity. Realistically i think Manning has done enough to deserve the summer. That doesn’t mean i think he will suddenly shoot us into playoffs next year, I still think we will finish somewhere between 10-16th. But I see 0 point in changing manager at this time. Give the man a chance and let’s see what happens. Don’t share the view of some that we should be really worried for next season. But it is Bristol City after all
  3. Didn’t realise we lost to plymouth and swansea. 10 points against the bottom 10 in our last 4 games against them. Not exactly terrible mate. There are serious faults in LMs game but he has quite clearly learnt from the streak post southampton.
  4. Should’ve brought Mehmeti on much earlier. Love or hate his decison making he makes things happen, consistently. Twine had a much better second half i thought but still not worth the £4m that Burnley want.
  5. Probably deserved a draw that game. Poor performance from us but tbf didn’t drop heads when we went 1-0 down and got the point. Coming into the game with 0 cbs i’d take that and it continues an our unbeaten streak. But that kind of performances coming back still leaves me very iffy on Manning.
  6. Would take off Twine personally, far to weak for the championship, or at least in this game. Lost the ball 3 or 4 times so far when pressured.
  7. Seems we’ve kicked off for the second half a bit early!
  8. Don’t understand these no pressure comments? Before the last 6 games, we were on a 4 game losing streak and half this forum thought we were sliding into a relegation battle + we’re relentlessly complaining we couldn’t beat a side below us. For all his faults LM follows that up with 13/16 points and beats 3 teams below us. Most of the wins in varying setups as well, showing a tactical flexibility many said he didn’t have. I’m all for calling someone out when they’ve done something wrong/can’t do something but you have to be able to say fair enough when they do it right. A lot of LMs flaws have been quite soundly answered recently, one of the only ones remaining is consistency which has hounded every city manager since 14/15. No matter the starting position a new manager will need time, a little more when it’s their first time at this level. Should that have been a reason for the board not to hire LM? Probably. But we did get him so that’s pointless. And why on earth would he need the benefit of the doubt regarding Pearsons exit? Nothing to do with him. I was as furious as most about NPs exit but it has no relevance to LMs tenure. Every transfer window sees misses, from Lois Diony to Kane wilson. The key is whether they are exceptions or expectations.
  9. Clearly been worked on as well. Passes for the first and last goals were both spot on.
  10. Suprised Haydon Roberts isn’t part Brazilian, silky footballer. Williams x Knight doing something for me, combative, mobile and composed when regaining possession. Brilliant goal off the bench for Mehmeti. Brace for each of our strikers and another clean sheet. Couldn’t ask for more! P.S. Nice little cameo for JKL, didn’t have much to do but didn’t do anything wrong either, good for him.
  11. TC and Williams the stand out so far. Decent performance but mistakes from blackburn costing them. should be 3-0.
  12. It’s as it always is with us imo, a negative cancelling out a positive. Like this season our very decent defence cancelled out by a below average attack. A slightly above average squad and a slightly below average manager. With a slightly above average manager we would’ve finished between 8-10th I think which was the goal/expectation a lot of people had. Sad that we can never seem to get both right at the same time! 21/22: 7th best attack, 22nd best defence. Wait 1 season… 23/24: 19th best attack, 4th best defence. I know we had to sell Semenyo for FFP and Scott wanted to leave but can’t help but imagine how this season could’ve gone if we kept both!
  13. Looks like a FA Cup game and we’re a team a division or two below holding out for a draw/nick it 1-0. Poor standards all over the pitch.
  14. Not at the races, not winning duels and second to every loose ball. Not strong enough in possession either. Need to get to half time and give their heads a wobble.
  15. Watching a load of rubbish on the pitch, also why is there so much debris/litter?
  16. According to Bristolcitylive Mccrorie is “definitely” on the bench. Not sure how they could’ve messed up the graphic like that.
  17. Quite optimistic about this one so naturally it’ll end 2-0 Sunderland.
  18. It’s quite easy to see the Man City v Arsenal game and label them as boring all round but i think it’s unfair to say they play boring football. It can be a lot more structured and slow in build up, usually because of how the opposition approaches countering Man City’s set up rather than Man City doing it themselves. Both Man U fixtures, the 4-4 draw with Chelsea and the 3-2 win over newcastle were all very entertaining games imo. But almost every team outside of the top 6 will play exclusively on the counter against Man City in a low block because of how good they are. The Real Madrid home leg last season for example, they set up the same way they have done all this season and that was arguably one of the best performances in recent club football, extremely entertaining at the same time.
  19. My point was Kane is a better player, which he is. Haaland might beat him in raw finishing and positional awareness but nothing else. You put Harry Kane in that Man city team he does just as well, if not better imo. And even though it has no actual relevance to a players ability suggesting Kane has “bottled it” on every big occasion is a moot point when Haaland has done the same. Haaland has played in 2 UCL semi-final legs, UCL final, Fa Cup final, Fa Cup Semi-Final, 2 Community shields and a Super Cup Final. All supposed big games. 8 Games 0 goals. Fun fact for you: In the entirety of Man city’s Fa Cup run last season, Haaland scored the same amount of goals in the tournament as Sam Bell.
  20. That is the poorest argument to determine an individuals quality i’ve ever seen. If anything it adds to the argument that Kane is better. In just last season, Kane had 30 league goals for spurs. A team who finished 8th, played with 3 different managers, one of which actively spoke down on the club whilst in charge. Haaland scored 36 (only 6 more) goals last season, 7 being penalties, in arguably one of the best sides in premier league history. By your logic Marc Albrighton is a better player then Heung-Min Son because he won the premier league and FA Cup with Leicester. An argument can be made that Haaland is a better goal scorer but he is no where near as good a footballer.

    Twine

Wouldn’t be surprised. 26 G/As in a pretty average team (goal scoring wise) in the championship alone will turn heads, especially at only 23. Add to the fact he’s got the maturity/game intelligence of someone with more experience and the technicals to go along with it he will be head hunted come summer imo, especially if plymouth go down. Could see him going to any of the teams vying for auto-promotion. Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at a lower league prem side either. Eze/Olise replacement at palace maybe?
