    Runners!

I walked 50 meters today to the bottle shop it took me only ten minutes. I purchased a carton of VB which weighs about 12 KGS. It took me 30 minutes to walk back with it. I did though stop to drink 2 of the 24 on the way back.?
  4. What’s that got to do with the original post. Who is Bradley Dack. I only asked if the Blackburn v Bristol was the first match behind closed doors. Didn’t need to know s%$t about trains or Dack.
  5. So is it a definite that City will travel up to Elwood Park and play on the 20th of June ?? My last City home match was on the 14th of December as i was back in the UK when my dad passed and we went down to Blackburn 2-0. It was the first time I sat in the Lansdown stand and it was the upper tier next to the press box. The first match will bring back a few memories especially if i can watch it in OZ. Lets hope the 2-0 is reversed this time.
  6. Agree a vaccine is necessary. I’m a bit concerned though that people posting they think they had the covet 19 in January are only making things worse. There is no proof of this. I had family visiting us in March and April in OZ and had basic flu symptoms, guess what they had the bloody flu after visiting the doctor. there are some scaremongers on here that make things worse and not better. Lets please be positive.
  7. Davefes, WA and NT are streets ahead of the other states and territories around reduction in numbers and wa only had one yesterday positive case in 7 days which was related back to an over sees traveler. NT nothing now for 3 weeks. Nationally the toll is still just under 100 of which 75 were traceable back to cruise liners visiting Australia. NSW and VIC are stil getting pockets around health centres and some wok places. In comparison to other countries around the world Australia are so lucky. I maintain contact with the family in the UK daily and you guys are all doing it tough. good luck
  8. Hi POP, Hope you are doing well. I have been looking out everywhere and no sign of English prem in oz this year being played down under. Any updates ?? in oz today the government implemented a 3 stage get back in regards to COVID and things are developing well. Restrictions are Still in place however easy to achieve the government programme which includes AFL, NRL and Ozzie soccer will soon commence. Social distancing measures are changing with some states starting to open pubs and restaurants with limited numbers, parks open, swimming pools open. Interstate travel is still closed across Australia.
  9. Perth is very safe at the moment with no cases 4 days straight. Even the total deaths across the country is only 90. OK 90 is still too many but in comparison to other countries its very low. Perth has some great stadiums like Davefes mentions. However the AFL and NRL are not far away playing again and in fact both these codes are all ready back in training all be it in isolated and controlled areas. leeds united and Man united played at Optus stadium last year and were sold out. Liverpool the year before played at the MCG in Melbourne in front of 90,000.00. There is no tourism so hence any football code would be welcome by all states and territories. Even if the Prem teams did play in Perth it would most probably be behind closed doors and even if some of the stadiums were to open and let limited numbers in the travel restrictions in place are very strict and you require a pass called a G2G which has your home address / quarantine address and the app which has to be scanned at the check points only approves you to drive in to or drive through an approved region so even if they did play who’s going to be able to watch them any way.
  10. Did you watch the walking dead. Similar out come
  11. Disagree some what in regards to only the Prem. You will find that the lower leagues will go ahead before the Prem. The lower leagues where attendances 3K TO 12k would be easy to manage where prem with 30K plus gates is not going to happen unless behind close doors to 2021. Do agree on the vaccine though. The EUROS have not a fixed date to commence. The date is a preliminary date to discuss possible options on a way forward to plan. By the way if you haven’t got SKY Sports you should. Where are you getting your info from?
  12. You never know what a couple of months will be. I agree some what probably cancel this season. However lets keep hoping as we will be stronger when all the recent events are over. If its not Prem football this year then it will be in 2021. Lets ride this out, look after your love ones, stay safe and then lets look forward to the football.
  13. It was reported that there were more than 300,000 people on Bondi Beach in Sydney on Saturday. If any of you know this famous beach it is not very big. The 300,000 people on the beach blatantly ignored the government warnings that a safe distance must be kept across all states and territories across Australia between all people. As of tomorrow NSW , Victoria and the ACT are planning to implement what you have now in the UK where only essential services and companies Iike supply chains, hospital staff, pharmacies, fuel stations can only open. I understand the restrictions now in place that were implemented over the past four days are difficult for all as my mum, sibling and my wife’s families are all in bristol or close by. Us in Australia will have the same in the next 48 to 72 hours. Our son and his family live in the Northern Territory of oz and the NT close their borders on Tuesday evening . On this note I leave you all with the best of luck over the next few months and look forward to all of us coming out of this. Family first. BCFC second.
  14. The sister in-law visited us about 5 weeks ago from the UK. She stayed for about 3 weeks. When here we organized a winery tour which included about 5 wineries and a couple of micro breweries. The trip was a day trip and we were on a mini bus which was full. There was us 3 pomms, 6 x persons from Austria and 2 x Italians. 2 of the girls from Australia were a bit sick. 2 days after when I got home I started to feel hot/cold and fluey. I went to the quacks and have been on 2 x courses of anti-biotics and still not quite well. I have had this now for over 3 weeks. it has been confirmed I have a flu virus. I also had the flu jabs this year as well. Just sharing this information As the common flu is always around no matter where you are. However if you are run down and in the unlikely hood you do catch the Corona stuff and you already have the flu you will not have much chance of surviving.
  15. Hope you feel better soon and it all turns out to be something else. A city win on the weekend will cheer you up
  16. A work colleague has just returned from Europe and he spent a few weeks in Italy. Lets say he definitely got within 6ft of many woman on many occasions. He is fit as a fiddle and still smiling.
  17. I do take the virus seriously but please roger head hat your story is better than a story on play school 50 years ago. What credible info is there that 70 flights from a quarantined area of Italy landed in the uk and the passengers were not screened. If you have this info please share it for clarification.
  18. Oh. Is the flu not contagious. Cancer and heart attacks kill more people every day than the corona virus does at his present time
  19. 200 years ago we had the Black Plague (oops shouldn’t have said that) the Flu, Cancer, Heart attacks, also kills millions across the world every year and we still ain’t got needles for them have we. Ok this new virus is highly contagious but lets see what happens over the next few months. I hope it doesn’t drag out like Brexit did.
  20. I just realised it must only be 0200 in the uk at the moment.
  21. Great web site and very informative. There is a positive over 39,000 have recovered.
  22. I posted too soon. As of 0900 WAST time Australia are now implementing travel bans in to Australia from Italy, Korea and Iran. There are very large communities of Italians across Australia and most reside in the suburbs of Sydney and Melbourne, it is estimated there are over 135,000.00 of them in these two areas alone. There are thousands each week from Italy that fly in to Australia to stay with family friends.
  23. I dont think football matches in England will be played behind closed doors. Look at China they seem to now be getting it under control a little. Italy will do the same and so will all the other countries around the world that have a decent health care systems . (Waiting now for the NHS critics) Australia at the moment only have a hand full of cases and its under control. There will obviously be cases coming up in the UK. Apparently you have to have other chronic illnesses along with the Coronavirus to un fortunately kick the bucket..
  24. I was in my teens then and always remember the famous 8 that saved the club. Sweeney, Rodgers (what a great centre half he was) Aitken, Garland, Tainton ( great on the right wing) Jimmy Mann, Marshall and Sir Geoff our Captain. We do owe them big time

    Runners!

My quickest run was about twenty meters about ten years ago. We were at a remote location in the Northern Territory of Australia. One shop, one pub with a bottle shop. The locals are not allowed within 100 meters of the bottle shop for obvious reasons if you are aware of the indigenous communities in these remote locations. Usually the locals will approach you as soon as they see you with a green slab of beer on your shoulder (Victoria bitter cans) we walked out of the bottle shop one night the two of us waiting for them to approach and they didn’t. This was unusual and when we looked around we saw a croc about six feet long to the side of us. We ran like hell. I have never ran so fast in my life. Me and my mate drank the 24 stubbies between us afterwards.
