  1. Did you never see Ivor the Engine as a kid?? Jones the steam on the foot plate and Dai Station? It was the early days mode of transport for the soul crew
  2. All happy on train , 30 Cardiff and 100 Newport. Newport got off in Swindon then Cardiff threw cans and bottles at them? Newport reacted and threw some back. Cardiff fans disgusted by this behaviour on their forum and wanted those who were identified to be outed. CCTV on train will have footage and those who are identified could well be punished.
  3. Agree 100% with non league football, I watch it fairly regularly with my nephew who ground hops a lot. It’s so much more relaxing to enjoy a few beers pitchside with the banter of locals and as you mention the standard is very good. I am laid up after hip surgery otherwise I would be down the Creek today. The rise in the reappearance of violent incidents at football is a nationwide problem and this has been well documented on here in the recent past, and also in the National press. It’s never ever gone away at City and I doubt it ever will as sad as that may sound .
  4. Was working in Somerfield as a 17 year old. Finished shift and walked home , put TV on and sat in total silence with my parents trying to take in what we were witnessing , tears rolling down my cheeks.
  5. Not sure what people want to hear from them?? They can’t influence the shart being dished up on the pitch , only NP and the players can do that. Our hands are tied financially next season and although it’s bad decisions by SL and JL that have contributed massively to this situation they are not going to come out and take the blame. We have gone backwards since LJ was sacked, no doubt at all , but we are a Championship club again next season and who knows what next season will bring. I personally don’t like the Bristol Sport branding , I feel we lost our identity with that and I have also said many times that I think that it may be time for a change of owners. SL and his investment has held this club together but for too long now I feel there has been no ambition to make the final push on the pitch. NP was appointed 2 years too late in my eyes, and we are paying for that big time now.
  6. I honestly believe that he wanted to manage us at some stage in his career and that he loved coming to Ashton Gate. Great character in the game and love him or loathe him he will be sorely missed. Affectionately known in our house as “the eyebrowless one” have seen the Cardiff /,wolves game on Sky recently from a couple of years ago when he kept telling Nuno to fark off after the final whistle as Nuno followed him around to shake hands?
  7. Only the usual section that away fans had in those days , granted i worded it wrong when I said corner bit . I remember the City fans in the open end dancing about like loons in the rain when they were let into the middle section next to the forest lot
  8. Torrential rain all day , I was in East end that day. Seem to remember Forest only having the corner of open end nearest Dolman. 33 years, jeez seems like yesterday. So near yet so far.
  9. Yes indeed, many more years of manual manipulation ahead for this prize bellwhiff.
  10. Evening Kap, deffo something in the air that night, natch cans and traffic cones when the Swindon escort entered Ashton road??One of the best nights ever at Ashton gate.
  11. What’s that coming over the hill is it Showumni, is it Showumni!!!!! used to love it when we had big Enoch up front in the promotion days.
  12. That’s why they paid the money for Mullin and reportedly 4K a week .
  13. Andy Llewelyn is still about, I have just come out of hospital in Newport, was in their with a County chap who chipped his firestick for him recently ?
  14. Hi Shaun , booked hotel quickly on booking .com then Let flights stew for a week or 2 to see how much they fluctuated and they didn’t drop so nailed them on easyJet website. most German clubs will have translated English version of their websites so it’s easy to book tickets .We picked Hertha as they only sell out against Bayern, Dortmund, and ? Berlin so tickets are easy to get. Once purchased they are sent straight to your email as print at home. Voilà.
  15. Shaun, 4 nights hotel, return flights from Bristol and match ticket was £175 and match ticket gives you free train and tube travel so many hours before and after match. All booked separately by us. It was on my bucket list . I would recommend getting out there if you can , it’s well worth it.
  16. Was over 1300, great day out, cracking third from Bradley Orr. Remember seeing Leader under the stand saying that a lot had flown into Newcastle. Anyone remember Jasper sitting on the roof of that jeep with a City flag as it pulled into the pub car park ??
  17. The Bundesliga matchday experience is a world apart from this country. You are treated like a fan not a cash machine. Looking forward to going back next season with hopefully a delve into Poland aswell
  18. Shaun , it was taken as Hertha fans had just began to sing their anthem Nur Nach Hause just before KO. Schalke dropped the banner , up went the scarves and off they went.
  19. I went to watch Hertha v Schalke in Feb 2020 on a Friday night and Schalke brought around 5-6k. for a 4 hr journey. It was impressive when they let the smoke off.
  20. Wrexham are currently limited capacity due to the old Kop end being derelict and unused. They have recently submitted plans for a 5k seat Stand on that end with conference centre to tie in with the councils project of regeneration of the station. In a few years capacity could be 14-15k, something the it’s what we do rabble from South Gloucestershire can only dream of.
  21. Yes there were Sticks , I remember going to watch us at Luton when Andy Cole was playing and saw a bloke wearing one. This same bloke got up and shouted at Steve Claridge when he came to retrieve a ball for a corner “ Oi Claridge, pull your socks up you feckin scruffy Kent”
  22. Only show at the gate when no game on. Embarrassing. Pair of oxygen thieving bellsniffs
  23. That was one lively game before and afterwards. I was in top corner of grange with a blue and white golf umbrella, came in handy as not only kept rain off but also the hundreds of coins coming over the back wall. Absolutely pisched down all day long .
  24. I actually laughed when he hit it , thinking what a shit effort? I looked away then heard the roar thinking how the F did they score when it was a goal kick?
  25. Relentless tackling and never say die attitude, Shelts was our version of Peter Reid .
