  1. Agree. It does appear that for most it’s actually the performance over the result that matters. It makes sense though, because performance is what will get us up the table and encourages fans to “believe”, not playing poorly and just praying we snatch a lucky win.
  2. You’re right will be a very good test.
  3. Agree and I said the same, it was the effort across the 90 minutes yesterday which impressed and surprised me, they really did play with a freedom we’ve not seen and didn’t look like a team who had nothing to play for.
  4. Yes that’s definitely been our weakness and definitely what we need to work on. If we can sort that out, then we should see real change.
  5. I think if you want change which many of us did of LM and we then see change, it’s not reasonable to not recognise it or at least acknowledge it. You’d surely have to acknowledge that play has picked up recently? Or are you simply saying that having made up your mind about LM (presumably), there’s no changing it?
  6. Well that would mean that neither Fevs or LM are capable of change?
  7. I think, having waited for the play to revert to type and it not happening, I feel more assured about what LM could achieve, but it would most definitely only be the case, if we play as we’ve played in the last 3/4 games, or that LM will be able to get the current and any new players, playing his brand of football, whilst retaining some of the more front foot stuff, we’ve seen recently. I know it has made a difference to me watching the last few games, to how I approach next season and I’ve just renewed with a more positive click of the renew tab.
  8. Clearly that’s not what I’m talking about. Only an idiot would think you never need to keep possession at the back. I think most people will understand just what I meant.
  9. Yes we played with more energy, less passing around at the back and an overall good performance, with consistently positive play. Even then though, there were still silly and avoidable mistakes at times, if we can work on those over the summer, we might actually be a hard team to beat. Really enjoyable game to watch and loved their persistence.
  10. Yes, was really pleased to see City fighting till the end even if, as the commentator kept saying, we have nothing to play for. The difference has been that we’ve not been playing the tedious stuff we were witnessing. I’ve believed we’ve got some great players I just hope we can get the most out of them.
  11. I don’t really like jumping on the band wagon but really couldn’t let this go by. I tried honestly I think you’ll find there’s plenty of people who also slag Ian Gay off so do they all have an agenda? I’m not sure Ian Gay has given any info that’s ever been tried and tested. Telling everyone the new manager was going to be someone we’d be very excited about didn’t turn out so well
  12. Well obviously he did feel the need to, yes. Don’t see why that should be a problem, sharing thoughts and impressions about matches is what this forum is for.
  13. I’m not so sure, can’t back this up in terms of which games specifically, I’m afraid, but I think there have been a fair few matches where we’ve had negative reactions usually in the form of groans, which have usually come on the back of exactly this type of play, passing backwards and sideways rather than finding forward passages of play.
  14. Yes. We’ve seen refs apply these added time rules that were supposed to be coming in this season in the Prem, but few refs in the championship, until today. So fair enough. They risked playing the game a certain way and it came back to bite them I’m afraid.
  15. Couldn’t agree more. Just had a look at some of the comments and think it’s pretty disgusting. Good to see that some fans are level headed enough to recognise she is not responsible for where they are and the position they find themselves in!
  16. It depends. Calling a male ref all the names under the sun doesn’t, if he’s deemed crap, usually include his being male. I suspect the insults are about her being female and crap or whatever.
  17. I think the main thing she had which many refs don’t was consistency. The way I saw it although some around me thought she was a bit picky, was that what she actually did, was apply the rules consistently. I thought it was pretty refreshing. She certainly got the adding time on for injuries and time wasting even within injury time.
  18. Sorry. Was responding having heard someone else moaning she stopped the game when she got knocked, thought that was what you referred to.
  19. Well how could she referee the game whilst getting the ball kicked in her stomach. You wouldn’t bat an eyelid if a player went to the floor. If there’d been a foul against us and she didn’t give it cos she didn’t see it would you be happy with that?
  20. @headhunter I get you not supporting the pile in on Lez. With the greatest respect though, he isn’t only expressing opinions about football, he’s chosen to insult fans who happen to have a different opinion to him. Comments like “bed wetters” and “the cult of Nige” just seems infantile to me and unnecessary. Can he not give his opinion without that? What “the cult of Nige”, actually means is anyone who hasn’t enjoyed Manning’s football and didn’t appreciate the way NP was sacked, which isn’t exactly controversial. It doesn’t take us forward when people use your platform to continue getting these remarks in and is used to shut down conversations Your podcast is better than that in my opinion.
  21. Just after the “bed wetters “comment. It’s the usual shutting down of the discussion tactics.
  22. As explained was rather a tongue in cheek comment.
  23. Yes said as much at the time. Seemed like he was going for a draw, by pulling off wells Mehmeti and Sykes.
