Yep - go with the young progressive, inexperienced manager, the one who knows all the trendy modern ‘go ahead’ football terms like ‘introverted full backs’ and ‘false number 9’ - he or she will be the one to bring us success??!! Or we could just go with a proven, experienced, knowledgeable, gnarly, successful guy and say ‘bollox to the woke brigade nonsense’ - a proper football man who will get us to the place we want to go - Neil Warnock ...

Warnock full backs are never too shy to attack.

Pretty sure that Lloyd Kelly, Bobby Reid, Jojo Wollacott & Owura Edwards all went to City Academy in Lawrence Hill, Ephraim Yeboah did too.

What I don’t know is how many of the first 4 were ever in the same squad.

    Ephraim went to St Bernadettes.

So it begins.  Another season of reluctant linesman duty’s, last minute player withdrawals, dog poo covered pitches, angry parents and angrier kids.

Both mine play in goal.  Both have tricky matches and it will be eldest child’s first season on full sized pitches, which means full sized goals - she’s lost in it.  Can see some pretty high score lines while the kids get used to the new dimensions.

Anyone else have games to go to this weekend?

The final season for me. From U7’s to U16’s, it’s been stressful and infuriating at times but so rewarding and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Once my son goes off to uni in a couple of years, I may even take a new batch of U7’s on and start the journey again.

  4. When bacterial infection was mentioned, my first thought was possibly a staph infection or glandular fever. Staph infections sometimes need the wound drained so technically surgery but I’ve never heard of glandular fever needing surgery.
Hopefully it’s a case of weeks not months.

Isn’t a reformed person the best role model?  If you hold your hands up to something and use that experience to discourage others, that can be very powerful.  As you say, everyone deserves a second chance.

No the best role models lead by example. The most powerful message would be if no other club touched him and as a father of a 16 year old boy, that message is far more important to me than the rehabilitation of Mason Greenwood.
A lot of young, impressionable Man Utd fans were not bothered what he did, they just wanted him back in the team so I have little faith those same fans would watch a 30min interview where he says sorry and he was wrong.

I’d take him back here tbf

I wouldn’t. Everyone deserves a second chance but he wouldn’t get it as a footballer and role model if it was up to me.
