I could never get why people called our midfielder Tommy Doc when there was no ‘c’ in his surname - strange 😳🍷

PS - your two versions of Dasilva (above) are identical - you’re having a ‘Weston super’ on this one ...

He’s been called Doc’s since he was about 8 years old 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve said this for 3 / 4 years.  It’s the single biggest thing holding him pack.  He has a lot of other things going for him, especially with the confidence he now has / Holden has given him.  His mate Brownhill was similar but he improved that weakness.  When I watch attacking players it’s one of the first things I look for...can they play with their head-up, do they have a picture of what’s around them.

I found using fairly dull coloured headbands from a young age instead of bibs, worked wonders when encouraging to play with the head up. They all hated them 😆 but it forced them to actually look up instead of hoping to see a bright flash of colour out of their peripheral.

Johnson said ' bang around the ground'. The vast majority of City fans enjoyed his tenure at Ashton Gate, particularly,  substantial parts of each season.

It is a shame that isn't reflected in the views of a noisy minority who appear on this forum

    ‘Bang around the ground’ 😆

Yes I stopped at 30/31, and he was in his early 40s then.  Still knew how to sniff out a chance!!

Remember playing against the likes of Archie Stevens (Melksham), Steve Cross and Carl Saunders (Mangotsfield), Mark Loram (Ex-Torquay - what a left foot).  Saunders was still only about 32 at the time, Stevens was past it though.

What great bloke Steve Cross is, I was lucky to have him as a coach for a season. He played the “good cop” role brilliantly!

If he doesn’t sign a contract it’s gonna look bad for a player we spent £5.3m on to leave for nothing.

Personally I think we could improve our forward line with a different type of striker to compliment the others.

Obviously he’s injured but I’ve always thought Weimann was a great foil when up top in a 2. Seems easy to play alongside and creates chances for others from his press.

I realise that many City fans see SC as some kind of messiah but I was never really impressed with him. I didn’t shed any tears when he got sacked.

I didn’t really see him as that but I do have a massive amount of respect for what he achieved here. I just think looking at his CV, Shrewsbury could do a lot worse.

We were spoiled by Lee Johnson, but then again, I thought he told us too much.  I’m happier with Holden’s level of info....but you’ve probably guessed that by our continued posts on the same subject! 😉😉😉

Both are obviously aware interviews are not only listened to by the clubs fans. Difference being, LJ wanted to impress the wider audience with his knowledge whereas Holden doesn’t want opponents knowing every detail.

  8. Funnily enough, one of the main gripes from Derby fans yesterday seemed to be that apparently Paterson was booked for pulling Holmes shirt in the box but Stroud only gave a corner?
I can’t remember why Pato was booked but sounds more likely he was booked for dissent?

  9. Shooting first time is situational, if Fam shoots first time Saturday, it probably gets blocked. There will be times in all strikers careers where they could have hit it first time but didn’t and times when they had a lot more time than they realised and could’ve taken a touch but didn’t.
At professional level, where players are pretty much physically equal, making the right decisions at the right time along with technical ability, is what separates.

  10. This sounds familiar...

“South Wales Police have opened an investigation into former Wales international David Cotterill after he was accused by former team-mates of cheating them out of a combined total of almost £400,000”
