  1. They did, I was stood next to it as it started!
  2. I was also there. I remember lot of Chelsea fans in the home crowd and a lot of thrown pint glasses, one just missing Graham Kelly’s forehead.
  3. Really impressed with how we dealt with that aerial assault. 2 brilliant defensive displays in our last 2 visits here.
  4. So Sky, BT etc waive the money they’ve paid to broadcast the games and allow them to be aired free of charge or will the clubs give the money they’ve received back? Clubs should also not charge to stream games and waive that money as well? How would this work?
  5. Makes me wonder how Bobby Ford, a Bedminster lad.. ended up signing pro at Oxford before captaining Sheff Utd
  6. Yeah that’s right, David’s Dad. Burke and Rawlings were big names locally back then!
  7. In the County side I played in during the early 90’s we had 1 at Man Utd, 1 at Southampton, 4 at City and 3 at Rovers. From personal memory around that time, 3rd, 4th and 5th year at school, Norwich and Southampton were particularly active in scouting the Southwest. I forget the names of their scouts but seeing them on the touchline along with Jock Rae, Roy Dolling & Vernon Lee at Bristol Boys, County and rep games was a regular occurrence.
  8. He also said he wants his captain on the pitch.
  9. It was a hard watch to be fair. By contrast, David Coles had a great delivery and strike on him, always enjoyed watching him warm the keepers up pre-match.
  10. I wonder if having no fans has had an impact on penalty shootouts? It would interesting to see the stats on penalties scored and missed pre & post lockdown. The pressure on the taker must be a lot less not having thousands of fans breathing down their neck.
  11. 12 goals in 19 international appearances.... although standard of opposition possibly questionable.
  12. Weimann’s pressing is a thing of beauty and a lot our players seem to take cues from him. Would he be in my starting line-up if everyone is fit? Not sure but at the moment he would and that’s purely down to you know what you’re getting. Until we get a good look at Walsh, Morrell and even Williams and see how DH intends to use them, it’s hard not to see him in the team at the moment.
  13. My Partner used to deal with the finances of a former Rovers player. Horrible individual who would attempt to draw all his wages out in cash the second it was paid in, despite owing more than he earned and often became abusive and threatening. This was quite a while agogo but I believe he was one of their highest paid players at the time.

    Programmes

For the last 4-5 seasons I’ve been involved in the production of our match day programmes - along with Bristol Bears(and Birmingham oddly enough). No orders or plans for any at the moment it would seem - much to my boys disappointment as he enjoyed collecting them and having one the evening before the game.
  15. I know what you are saying and agree but on this occasion, the lad asking didn’t provoke him in any way. The response seemed more like it was aimed at the club/LJ. I actually have a huge amount of respect and time for Joe, my boy has been mascot 6-7 times and walked out with Joe on 4 of them, each time making my nippers day special.
  16. That particular comment was a reply to a teenager on Instagram
  17. I’ve read and seen a few comments from him which were not very positive about the club. The one that sticks in my mind was when he was asked if he’d return to AG one day.... his response was “I’d rather put my face in a fire” No idea why he may feel like that?
  18. 2020 - the year of minimal communication.
  19. Not with only 1 year remaining. I’d imagine it would be closer to £5m.
  20. That’s Ralph from Happy Days
  21. Reminds me of Mark Hughes. Very rarely see a defender go through him. Absolute master of sticking his backside out and making a solid base. Great first touch and brings others into play. Doesn’t run the channels too often which is a good thing and will hopefully discourage hopeful clips over the top.
  22. Lot of time for Kitey, he’s alright to be fair. Mine would be Mark Shail, Danny Mills and Ben Thatcher.
  23. I disagree, I believe RWB is our weakest area and we badly need an upgrade, not just a back up. Going forward Hunt has done ok but defensively, he’s been pretty poor.
