To my eye, O’Dowda has never delivered consistently. He had one very brief patch of form before he got injured(in which time as you said, all the players seemed to be in-form) and that’s it. I was excited after his debut and how he would progress.... but it seems LJ took a specialised winger and turned him into a jack of all, king of nothing player. For me, for every position he can now play - there are 2 or 3 better options in front of him.
  2. So all 3 players had relegation release clauses? That’s a lot of talent going out the door for very little.
  3. Morrell as RWB or going without one?
  4. I also imagine Robinson went with significant add-ons?
  5. Definitely thrown us off a bit after yesterday’s midfield debate. Maybe they were using the friendly to showcase Bakinson for a potential loan move, although I assumed he’d be heading back to Plymouth.

I would be completely ok with this. It would also help me buy into Holden doing things his own way that little bit more.
  7. Fantastic signing. Personally I’m over the moon but I’ll be honest, I never thought for a second we’d manage to get him through the door. Day made!
  8. Ultimately, he didn’t get the best out of the players he had at his disposal, whether that was through coaching, belief in him as a coach, his philosophy or down to his tactics. It’s a shame as personally I would have loved to see him take us up, with his links to the club as a player and of course, his old man.... but for whatever reason(s), he simply fell short.
  9. Yeah thats true. I don’t actually think we’ll be near the bottom 3 to be fair.
  10. If we’re in the bottom 3 in December and fans being back at AG is in sight.

Agree but what I would suggest is that it was LJ that tried to turn him into a target man type of player and really, it’s not his natural game at all. Hope he stays but we shall see.
  12. To me that says, possibly offload Eliasson, O’Dowda, Adelakun and look to strengthen with wing backs. Wingers and true wide men seem a bit redundant.

Unless we sign someone who is an obvious choice of captain, I think it will be Kalas.
  14. I wouldn’t be surprised to see all 3 in the match day squads next season but definitely 2 out of the 3. For all the hype and expectation around HNM and Walsh, my money would be on Morrell to be the success story of the coming season. I have high hopes for all 3.
  15. Agree, I liked that little hint of ruthlessness. This line also impressed me when talking about JM and assistants - “I’m not just going to bring a mate in who’s going to agree with everything I say” I’m still hugely disappointed like a lot of fans and not convinced It’s going to be successful, but Dean seems a genuinely good guy and I don’t blame him for grabbing the opportunity with both hands. Wish him the best of luck.
  16. The club just posted marking the anniversary of signing JD, on Instagram. Within minutes the comments section filled up and have now deleted the photo
  17. Exactly. I’d rather have Barry Bennell than Holden.
  18. Lansdowns club and Lansdowns money, with which he can do what he likes. Fortunately I can also do what I like with mine, that will be no renewal for the first time in 20 years. No renewal of my sons season ticket and certainly no more mascot packages, and birthday parties when available. No more 3 full kits and all the training gear for him each season either. Yes he puts a lot of his own money in but collectively, so do we.
  19. It’s quite sad really. Biggest day of the season when I was a nipper. All my mates around for S n’ G, road to Wembley, bbq and the match. Never had an interest in which team won as a city fan, but the day as a spectacle was brilliant. My little one looks at me funny when I tell him about FA Cup finals at the old Wembley and how important they were.
  20. After taking the Hummel hoodie I ordered for my nipper out of the bag and having a look.... I didn’t think today could get any worse, city wise. Of course I was wrong. Cheap and nasty all round.
  21. Wait.... Mark? Is that you?
