I thought he was injured? I heard a snippet of an interview with LM I think, saying something like that.
LM , when asked about him , appeared ‘unsure’ when he might get involved and said
‘Im Not a medical man , you’d need to ask the medical team’
or words to that effect
Probably what you were referring to Max ?

If I had to choose one person to go it would be SL as whoever came in next would undoubtedly replace the whole structure beneath him.
The only conclusion I could come to
Replacing just one of any of the others does little or nothing

I feel a tiny bit sorry for Tinnion - he’s in a role which has a public relations requirement and he just doesn’t have the skills/experience for it.
I remember being a bit unimpressed by Richard Gould’s interviews at the time - but in hindsight what an enormous loss he was. We’ve significantly downgraded our boardroom - and done so wilfully.
I appreciate Gould left by his own volition, but losing Alexander too (and not replacing him?), plus Pearson’s experience.. then filling it with Jon’s mates - it’s crazy. No checks and balances, no accountability, just groupthink. It’s a crazy approach and clearly won’t be successful.
And we are now almost certainly going to be losing playing experience within the actual squad.
I was only thinking about Richard Gould’s time here , this morning and the overall set up.
It was clearly a testing time for RG downwards as we conducted , with a reduced budget , surgery on a dysfunctional squad , whilst keeping us away from threat of relegation
But right then , with Pearson , Rennie , and Fleming , Euell , Tinnion seemingly one board’ and working well within the plan , undoubtedly happy as **** that youngsters were being promoted and utilised ......we actually felt we were set up not only for that surgery to move forward
Square pegs (With proven ability and experience in their roles) in square holes , tick , tick , tick
Even any question of JLs competence or SLs apparent wane in interest didn’t seem to matter , or likely to spoil what was , probably the best whole set up , (We’ve had some decent Managers but not the whole set up) we’ve had in my lifetime
Now I look around across the whole structure , from the Lansdowns down to LM , and think - who do I trust across the whole lot to ‘perform’ and make good decisions ?
for me - In all honesty , none of them at the present time
Away from results and performances in the meantime - as a structure what an almighty self sabotage
It means that if you had a magic wand and could get rid of one person , only one , in the structure right now , who would you choose ?
Because in reality I don’t think there’s one (Or I guess only one) you could choose to replace that would give any prospect of improvement and success.
Blimey just below the surface we look ‘fragile’ - We have all the ingredients for a crumblingHang on tight

I am not even sure where you start with an interview like that, but I have a good idea of where you end.
There is a very evident, and growing divide between the club and the fanbase. Any possibility of success will be driven by a unity of purpose and belief. But here we are with a club led by people who continually lie, and also seemingly have confused politics with sport. The lobbying, random posing on forums, offline briefing of local media and interviews like this demonstrate that they think you can detach the evidence and underlying mood with empty words. As if by saying something continually, it will become true, despite all of the evidence pointing in a different direction.
The club has created one of the most astonishing masterclasses in self-destruction. They have indeed lost the fan base, primarily because of the lack of transparency and continued lies. That destroys trust. But worse than that, there is no real anger. It is even more catastrophic, apathy prevails. The reason for that is possibly because people know there is nothing that can be done. The club is priced out of new ownership, and as such, we are currently hostages to the owner's whim. This is a real shame, because the owner most certainly would want what any fan would want, but over 2 decades the continued lack of any semblance of a strategy, changes in direction, and continued reluctance to employ competent people means we are now looking at regression.
So here we are, we now have to watch the soap opera of Tinnion, Manning and Jon L play out until the cost of relegation becomes a real reality again. But we have been here on so many occasions.
The club is crying out for high quality professional leadership. It is now getting embarrassing for the owner.

Interesting choice in mentioning Blackburn - sold their talented young CM - Adam Wharton on Feb 1st.
Why the relevance of Wharton? Because I saw him as being the most-Alex Scott type young player in the championship.
and they didn’t replace him, even let Travis go out on loan too.
You might argue they sabotaged their season! JDT sacked 8 days later. Although I quite like Eustace.
Ahhhhh
thats where he came from
Surprised he’s not jumped into this thread

Id suggest if that’s it , with expected departures , and we keep LM
a Relegation fight is definitely on the horizon

I'm assuming "Travis" has been removed but maybe now is the time to let he/she/it know the Dolman wasn't built until 1970 and the schoolboy encosure was a few years after that.
Have some sympathy Nick
Poor old ‘Travis’ is 143 yrs old, went to his first game in 1913 , read the forum for 73 years before he finally decided to sign up a few weeks ago
And then after all that, over 48 hrs , it appears he’s managed to get himself blocked from posting.
( Ive lit a candle in memorium )

Ian once again tried to defend LM. But I bought up all of his postings during the game where he commented how bad it was, and what he would do to change it.
In true Ian fashion, following the podcast he went back to his postings and deleted a number of those posts to show his feelings in a more positive light post result. It's his way of appearing to be in the right all the time.
Oh my
Hilarious , and sums him up perfectly

His goals have gained us 7 , and arguably 10 points this season !
just a little bit crucial !

First time I've ever been shouting at the phone e in favour of IG. Just answer the question Neil !!!!! It's a hypothetical would you happy watching 16 games of dull turgid football and accept a 1-0 win each time.
No context needed.
I'm with Ian, no I wouldn't watch it .
It was a strange question and @NcnsBcfcand @TomSutton Appeared rightly perplexed by the q and both gave the right answer
You simply won’t win ‘15 home games’ playing and performing like that

With respect, there are plenty of other threads for such speculation.

I will leave this debate to others I think

Oh, I agree….just pointing out the consequences!
It’s actually bloody bizarre Dave
Tinnion always came across as genuinely enthusiastic about the playing ethos constructed under RG/NP and very much in board and constantly talking about the recruitment side of that.
Then we appoint Manning
So ,
He either wasn’t Tinnions choice or man
or , as I’ve previously raised a few times
He / they have totally misunderstood Mannings playing philosophy
For some reason he / they have identified the next bright thing they can dabble with and have realised and accepted that they will have to throw the old ethos out the window and start again
Yet we still have Tinnion in soundbites talking as he did under Pearson about recruitment and certainly not any notice of a change in plans
Truly Bizarre

Manning said he wanted them himself, to reiterate his words: "Important for any group ... a core of senior players ... I'm big in terms drawing out that experience and that knowledge."
If some do not come in, then it is item 1. in my post above.
I think due to his and staffs complete inexperience at this level it’s vital that we try and get in some true experience (But I believe we won’t)
I know it was a difficult testing period to clear the deadwood and bloated overpaid under performers etc and the stabilising and rebuild start , but the fact that someone with all Pearson’s experience made it a priority to acquire , and retain in new contracts , certain characters with significant experience is quite telling
So we are in a new phase , and I just get the vibe that we don’t see that as important- we can only wait and see

I might be reading too much into it but he certainly appeared to suggest that the medical team were working with Murphy
Tinnion specifically said it’s not an injury
The medical team suggested something more than fitness work to me and as @Harry rightly points out 4 months plus is a very long ‘pre season’
I suspect that @Silvio Dante may be somewhere on the right lines , and we’ve either encountered a bigger issue than we thought , or the medical team are doing work to overcome a weakness / issue we are fully aware of to try and prevent reoccurrence of injury issues
Its possibly a slight gamble of a signing on the basis we like him and are prepared to try and overcome a physical problem / injury issues
