  1. I’m amazed someone owns 3 pairs Phil ? , but there’s you going for a bumper pack of five !l
  2. Agreed , and agreed Dave It didn’t help our illustrious ‘Football savvy’ Chairman making the comments he did either - if he doesn’t get it knowing the extent of the problems , I guess you can’t be surprised that some of our fan base didn’t ! ! !
  3. Because it’s 113 years later and ‘They’ wear blue Can you imagine them having a red away kit ? Even they arn’t that stupid * Others May disagree but a massive no for me
  4. Depends on your understanding of what he was up against and your trust in him as a package , I suppose It wasn’t a ship that was going to be turned around quickly
  5. If Tommy Conway is Roy Race is Antoine ‘Hot shot Hamish ‘
  6. No ,no ,no Nothing blue no no no And op - don’t give Jon Lansdown any stupid ideas , he’s more than capable of his own
  7. No wonder there’s a supply crisis with food and numerous products The swamp dwellers have bought the western worlds stock of shipping containers
  8. Only they can answer that but it has appeared , since he came here that some / many have gauged our current situation by performance and result without actually grasping what a s**t show he (And Richard Gould) inherited besides the real financial crisis , players who hid at HPC to duck training , players who couldn’t be arsed , and zero squad team / culture. i was really pleased with his appointment and my one reservation / worry was that his no nonsense , straight talking approach might be met with real resistance by ‘modern players’ and it would crash. its a real testament to him that entering a crap ‘culture’ he’s managed to get rid of those not prepared to fall in , whilst keeping the majority of the players , at the very least ‘on board’ It’s ironic that this ‘dinosaur’ has had not just an impact on international and ex Prem , Andi Weimann, But probably more so, those who have the biggest difference in age , in Scott , Semenyo , Conway etc I can understand people being dissapointed with performances , late goals and results , but I think many others understood, as you highlighted , that it was small steps Quote who they believed might come in and perform some sort of miracle , quicker and better , im not sure. It would have been interesting say halfway through last season , to see what age groups were behind and confident in Pearson at that time My gut instinct was it would have been mainly the middle and older groups , rather than younger , (And I could get that a bit more ie frustration / discontent ) but I may be wrong
  9. It does make me chuckle how quickly some (Not Just Ian) have changed their views That’s good , but such a swing about 3 weeks ? For the best part of 18 months , and as recently as mid August , he needs sacking ,......... then within 3 weeks , everything’s bloody wonderful ! ? A bad run in September and ...... ?
  10. It’s actually nice , to , again , have some players that are coveted by other Clubs !!!!
  11. Yes , sorry , of course, you’re correct about assists They seem to be the two numbers that everyone (Media , pundits) obsesses about. IIRC his assist numbers for last season were good and I’m sure will continue to be so For all the modern data analysis , I still think Clubs get starry eyed , probably understandably , over goals return !!!
  12. They do a free version for the Sags at the Memorial Swamp Encampment pre match Its done, in a traditional teepee method , by smoke signals
  13. I think the biggest factor in eventual fee for Antoine will be goals Of course clubs will look at every stat , and be impressed , or otherwise by ‘numbers’ in all sorts of aspects , but I still think that keeping his upward trending goal return will be the single biggest factor in an eventual fee. We all know , and other clubs will see , what he can add without goals but goals = ££££
  14. I would Mr P , Tye benefits of turning down any bid in the window just closed is i) We get the benefit on the pitch of Antoine , Scott etc , at least until January ii) Assuming we get our belief re any ongoing / future transfer value Correct , I would hope the extra fee we eventually receive anyone subject of a unsatisfactory / derisory bid in the window just gone , will more than compensate for a small amount of points A point deduction could, of course , in theory push out of a play off place , but , if I’m honest I’m not sure we are yet looking serious play off contenders , if we continue recent results , that may change. And , it would be difficult to quantify but I’d suggest that keeping those players subject of interest , will see us acquire more points by being involved , than we would lose by any points deduction The good thing is , and credit to them , and something that allows us to make easier decisions, is the conduct and attitude of Scott , Semenyo etc who appear, for now at least , to keep their heads down and play Either could have made life more difficult by making it clear they wanted a move , and they put the Boly’s , Fofana’s Ronaldo’s , of the world , and their conduct , completely to shame On the FFP situation , if we were tight or just over , I know the Nathan Baker retirement won’t see us get any FFP‘allowance’ because of it , but I’d suggest it would be pretty good mitigation regarding any possible penalty.
  15. Or , more simply put The era of missed opportunity
  16. Had a ‘woeful’ first 18 months here ? What the extremely difficult task of sanitising a car crash of a squad , attitude and culture , whilst halving the wage bill Rebuilding the base foundations Realism
  17. With the five subs rule these days , we could actually keep Chris Martin for the next 10 years , have him permanently on the bench , to be brought on each time (????) we get a penalty
  18. An excellent and often overlooked point (Across all clubs) IMHO Pearson has said since he came he wanted a smaller squad It comes with some risk , but has definite benefits I do wonder how happy (a fair few of) Forests new ‘squad’ will be in a few months
  19. there’s a good argument to be had that even if we were now likely to pick up a small points deduction , keeping Antoine & Co will ensure that we come out in good profit points wise , on the decision to reject any bids
  20. It’s not as simple as that though is it Central midfield is IMHO possible the hardest place to operate , in the middle of a 360 degree sphere of play Receiving it in central midfield he’s going to be facing his own goal , or at best on the half turn , and far more likely to have someone breathing down his neck as he does so He has the individual skill to cope , but his options to get his head up and thread passes likely to be more limited , and his ability to ping a long diagonal ball. Playing with the whole game in front of him maximises his opportunity to play a range of passes I know you’ve said on numerous , numerous , occasions he should be moved , but he was acquired for a specific purpose(s)
  21. Said , after watching him for U23s in his return from Newport , he hits the ball with power you rarely see At that time he was trying (IMHO) the ball too hard and his shots were flying , a bit wild , generally high , but like rockets Said at the time that he hits a ball so naturally , that he needed to not try and hit it too hard , but concentrate in hitting the target , ideally picking his spot / area , and his natural power would bring him goals It looks to me , that’s what he’s done , he certainly hits the target far more often than he did when he was still raw Thunder feet
  22. I understood what you meant Maybe. ‘in and out of possession’ would satisfy any pedants !
  23. Looking at the Huddersfield Forum Ska, mixed views but a number of comments that it was one of their better performances this season Not sure if you get many comfortable games at his level to be fair , most sides are going to have a spell on top or threaten in games
