  1. Ref was poor all night playing to the ipswich fans, sure he will be invited to have a bottle or red with Ashton to celebrate
  2. Shame about the result from a very good performance. Burns made all the difference Very soft free kick for their 2nd Looked like cam got the ball for the pen, in the build up one of our players was dragged back and stopped getting to the ball, but ref ignored. Those trying to big up ipswich saying they could have had more, but fail to mention nakki miss or Mehmeti great effort. Those using that ipswich made changes and we did not react, seem to have forgot Conway and Skyes combined for our 2nd, but also look at the players ipswich were able to get in January. Maybe Roberts on would have been good, but maybe not
  3. Joke if a ref gave a nothing foul for the equaliser then totally ignored our player being pulled out the way in the build up to the penalty which cam got a touch on
  4. Thus *** of a ref has been ****** desperate to give it to them
  5. Players have minor Injuries and niggles all the time they have to manage, just trying to make an issue about something for the sake of it

    BT

And you have inside knowledge to know this is correct?
  7. Watching it as well, NG must have thought he was playing rugby with the hand off into williams face for the goal. Still think Tommy was poor being offside for his attempt.
  8. Sheff on -50 goal difference already
  9. This bit for me, exactly what we were saying the other day, there is no pace on the ball, no quick passing, no movement into space in front of them, which was something we had started to do in the early days of LM, but we seemed to have regressed "In the early part of Liam’s reign, I felt that we were keeping possession with a real purpose but now it feels like we are continually playing the ball around at the back, playing it sideways and backwards because we are not sure what to do or because they don’t want to make a mistake. Everything is a little too slow, too safe and too deliberate, our midfield is too pedestrian and there is not enough movement in the final third. We run in straight lines and make it too easy to defend against us"
  10. In the Lansdown stand, south stand end, but thought the atmosphere was very flat and nothing like a normal derby. Get the point some have made about dull performances and not much to cheer about, but like I said is it for the players to get the fans going or can the fans help to get the players going?
  11. When I looked at it earlier, Tommy is not in the picture to see if he is onside from the initial cross, which is a fair point he may have been originally. In general it gets a bit frustrating the number of times both Tommy & Nakki are offside when they can see across the whole pitch and dont even get me started about the slow amble to get back on side after going to the keeper, which just stops the ball being played forward to him.
  12. I said on another thread that Tommy was poor to be offside when he has an easy clear view down the line, its not as though it was a fast move, purely a cross and headed shot. Small margins but huge difference to the end result. I also do not think its even close when you judge from the box
  13. I was not happy yesterday at our game, Cardiff players sits himself down, we are in an attacking position having just turned the ball over and blows up to stop the game, but why? was not a head injury, was not a serious injury or medical event, he even then held up the game until Cardiff brought the sub on, so we lost any momentum and Cardiff had 11 players on the pitch to get back behind the ball, joke of a ref. PS Liverpool decision was terrible and cost Forest the game
  14. I guess it depends on you motivation for buying a ticket, is it something you expect something back from, winning football, promotion to the prem, thrilling football. Whereas the reality of watching a mid table championship team is a mix of success and disappointment, but you are following the team you support thru the ups and downs as well as the whole match day experience. Whilst I hate losing to Cardiff as much as the gas, I still had a good day watching a game and the frustration that came with it, a few beers with mates and chatting with a bit of banter with all the other ST holders I have got to know around us. Unfortunately no guarantees at this level of what you will get for your money.
  15. So tainted with you bias opinion to match an agenda Gary Johnson, great lower division manager, agree about nepotism, but his management style was to bully, which you can only get away with up to a certain level Lee Johnson, never liked him as a player, but done OK as a manager, just stuck with him too long which is often SL's way You missed Holden - I never believe the story about how he was appointed, always think we had someone lined up which eventually fell thru Steve Cotterill - my favorite manager along with Nige, but cotts went all gung ho wanting to sign players on massive money which I remember SL said he would back, but they did not come off Nige, the truth is none of us really know why he was sacked, it was certainly not the reasons given, which suggests some sort of cover story. The breakdown had obviously gone on for some time, hence the nestegg statement by SL as cleary did not want to give NP the Scott funds, maybe there is a very good reason why he was sacked, one that most businesses would have done the same thing, the problem is we can only see 1 side, that is a popular manager sacked for apparently no reason as what was said did not add up. Whilst a lot of things can be said about SL, sacking someone for the sake of it if they could see he was doing a good job and harming their club and investment, makes no sense. LM - I was hoping for Eustace, but we don't know if we approached him and it did not happen, but ending up with Manning, my concern always was if we hit a bad run would the players trust his vision due to lack of experience, hopefully he turns it around quickly and becomes a great manager as showed some early promise, but that looks a long way off and fear a few more losses and dragged into a relegation fight will need a change
  16. Think you can add the fans to that, never known such a quiet tame atmosphere for a derby game, or perhaps blame the players performance, where were the blood and thunder tackles, maybe its a chicken and egg question, do the players need to get the fans going or do the fans help to get the players going, either way its on a downward spiral, but easy to sit back and blame everyone else
  17. Excellent article and summed up what our group of season ticket holders were discussing. No one had a bad game, Knight is a very good player, just not in that position, we are desperately missing Twine / creative player, as it been said we are generally OK to we get to the final 1/3 and lack creativity. Players seem to be bickering and not together, but maybe just part of bad results and not a internal bust up. also Wet greasy pitch, need to have plenty of long shots that can get easily spilled For all the talk of Conway not being given any ball, it was p1ss poor to be off side for the tap in when he had the whole line to look along When LM first came in we were having lots of shots, but this has dried up and the ones we have had been low quality Happy to go back to a 4 at the back Ipswich we are just a likely to win or end in a heavy defeat
  18. The perfect DOF who always said he doesn't want to be one and does not deal with agents, does not sound perfect to me, more clutching at straws
  19. I would have thought it's obvious that someone who has worked within a business for years and still has involvement in various capacities has a lot more knowledge of the running of the club and what's been achieved
  20. Well being an ex player knowing the people and what goes on within the club and still involved in a number of different ways will give him much more inside knowledge. Fans only get a tiny snapshot of what goes on within the club and therfore litle understanding other than what gets touted on social media
  21. Or perhaps he knows alot more about it than most / all on here
  22. Not everything was negative, my steak and ale pie was lovely and for a change I did not burn my mouth or have to wait 20 minutes to eat it, so all round a good job.
  23. They are elite athletes who by the very nature to get where they are have to be driven and self motivated, they do not need a manager to motivate them to pmay well. Not to say they can not become frustrated by a manager or disagree with what they are being asked to do, or in extreme cases of player power purposely put in poor performances, but that's not about the managers job is to motivate them as you claimed.
