  1. Don't think so, we offered him a new contract, albeit on reduced post covid terms, which as his right decided on a better offer from Cardiff, apparently about 10 Championship teams interested in him
  2. Forgot that, perhaps toilets should be closed to prevent damage. Although they may return to the old days of Ninian park and throwing bottles of piss Better idea, don't sell any drink so they won't need them
  3. Can't be true, we're bristol city we don't get penalties, unless FA said try to even things up and give to U18's instead
  4. Pring did not make the bench Tuesday, anyone know if injured or just not selected?
  5. Agree will be disappointed if the only change is not Wilson or Tanner for Sykes, thought our midfield was much more mobile with HNM & Scott and Conway / Wells had good games and do not deserve to be dropped for Martin
  6. If any one wants to play the new weekly gameshow guess the question, then NP's latest presser is online https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/press-conference-nigel-pearson-previews-severnside-derby/ Why can the club not ensure we can hear the questions, or put up subtitles
  7. Wow, Ex prem ref Mark Halsey does not pull any punches in support of NP (may seem to have a bit of a grudge though) https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-pearson-halsey-referee-7486245
  8. I think that's exactly what NP is trying to achieve, all about weeding out the bad eggs or imbalance to enable building team spirit, unity and fight for each other. As much as I dislike Colin, that's the way he got his teams playing, the world is against us, so lets fight for each other.
  9. Perhaps part of the explanation is we don't dive enough compared to other teams, or we don't have players running at players in the box
  10. We don't have to sell so could be playing for current 2019 wage for another 2 years, or could be given a new 4 year contract at your example of 4 times current wage or what ever brings him in line with the benchmark we want to now set for our top earners. Gets much better opportunity to start every week, carry on development and could still be sold on to the prem at a future date.
  11. I saw this on Twitter and it was being raised about the selective start date as I am guessing we may have had penalties just before, which would change the average. Not sure if this is correct, or someone can clarify why start in the middle of November part way through a season
  12. Maybe Nige is fed up of working hard all week to be undone by poor decisions, maybe he is venting and reflects some of the players feelings. It seems to be 1 way traffic, decisions going against rather than for. Hull, penalties now acknowledged they were wrong Sunderland, not big decisions, but how often was Skyes being fouled and it ignored Wigan, player kicks Williams and somehow a yellow, it was either I did not see it or a red Luton penalty and again yellow for violent conduct
  13. The problem with VAR is its trying to be too precise and be 100% correct, when VAR was introduced it was supposed to be for clear and obvious mistakes, but now we have every goal scrutinised for minutes, in case someone's hair follicle was offside. Make it so the reviews have a time limit, say 30 seconds if that's enough to get the different camera angles, an experienced ref reviewing should be able to determine if its a obvious mistake in that time and if he cant then its not that obvious, maybe give managers 2 challenges in a game that they can go to the 4th official and ask for a review of an incident, so you are not solely reliant on the ref asking for a review or it being done automatically on every decision and action. The game moves so fast now and very difficult for a ref / assistant to keep up with all the action and see what's going on, with so much at stake and money in the modern game they need help.
  14. Interesting you say that, my thoughts to all the criticism of him not signing is, how do we know he has been offered a good deal worth signing.
  15. Despite my user name I an not Nige, been here longer than NP The refs are becoming a really bad joke, it seems every game it is another major decision gone against us, then get a meaningless letter apologising we got it wrong, Sure NP has said it to draw attention to the state of officials and will no doubt get in trouble, but when you and your players have worked hard all week to have it snatched away by someone not doing a half competent job must be so depressing
  16. Hope so DaSilva was terrible against Wigan and Martin did very little, maybe a bit harsh on Sykes as had a very good game
  17. I don't think we really comprehend the phycology of players and how the nervousness of a crowd can undermine them and also when you make a mistake a few times, you start to worry about it and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy Bit like when I play golf, stood over a shot over the lake and your mind says don't put it in the lake, or the last 3 times you have played a hold you have put it our of bounds and your mind says don't do it again, well sure enough you get edgy on the shot and straight in teh lake or out of bounds the balls goes.
  18. Sure some of the above is part of it, but with PP clubs, its mainly they have and can afford better players
  19. At least 2 ever year that go up have parachute payments, so reality we are fighting for 1 place, which could still be filled with a PP club
  20. I would rather sell Scott at the moment, maybe Scott has greater potential as he is so good at his age, but AS offers us so much more now, so if we need to cash in on one I would rather sell Scott particularly if we could entice AS with a new longer contract
  21. Perhaps we can agree to sell AS for 15mil as long as they cancel Simms loan to Sunderland and send him here instead
