  1. Got to be pressure on Pat. Good will that he has in the bank quickly running out. Can’t see any progression at the moment. Trust the process, take the learnings etc. but we aren’t evolving as a team - we’re going backwards. We should have lost to Barf and could have thrown it away against Oirish. Lucky to be as high in the table as we are. I fear for us against Sarries, Quins etc.
  2. Ah ok. I thought he’d gone to Rotterdam.
  3. Who’s he playing for now? Been years since he left us
  4. It's inevitable that we aren't going to hold on to Semenyo and he's destined for the PL, we just need to ensure we get top dollar for him. Real shame because he's a player who gets you out of your seat and brings a dynamic to the team that other players in the squad simply can't......but that is of course the reason he's destined for greater things! Hopefully he'll then thrive at that higher level and we'll get extra money through a decent sell on clause. I think the last player we sold to Palace was Bolasie (?) so a good precedent if he ends up there.
  5. Am getting the impression your not a fan of Hendrie!
  6. I read that as shellfish.
  7. You’d think he’d be called Primarni Little playing at that level
  8. Father In laws nephew was born with deformed small ears. he was called (out of earshot) Lugless Douglas
  9. I’m pretty sure my first game would have been in 86 but don’t know who against. Earliest memories are Wembley for the Mansfield game, then us thrashing Doncaster 5-0 in 88 with Walshy getting a hat trick and Bobby Hutch notching as well - not sure of the other scorer. family history of staunch City fans - including @CyderInACanand @oldstandrobin- going back pre First World War so presumably since inception of club. Although ironically our cousin married a R*vers player!
  10. But apart from all of those you’ve listed, there were no exciting games at home that season!
  11. I’ve never been able to watch the highlights of that game. And had a fair few beers pre match so the game itself is a bit of a blur. Best it stays that way I think!
  12. Hang on, aren’t you describing City v Brighton at the Millenium when your beloved Danny Wilson choked big time?
  13. Richard Keogh was pretty decent for us, especially when compared to some of the dross mentioned! already mentioned. Doh!
  14. Using facts? That’ll never win an argument!
  15. I was there. Pretty sure we had the Noble-Carle-Trundle axis and the football we played was on another level from anything seen that season. We lost 2-1 I think with Gary Speed getting both for the Blades (don’t know who scored for us!) but we were outstanding. Sarah was with Steve Brooker!

    Runners!

Had to do a tactical 7am run the friday when the gales were 70mph+. Mind you, was still about 40mph at that time! I don’t mind running in the rain except when it’s cold as well as my glasses then steam up and I can’t see where I’m going!!

    Runners!

After starting the year with covid and generally being unfit, I’ve just finished Run Every Day in February. Just a shade under 100km in total but with the extra walking to and from the office now I’m back in 3 days a week, cumulative total was about 150km. Pretty chuffed with that, and knackered! Rest day today. Then back in the game tomorrow! And a shout out to @CyderInACanfor running every day so far this year. Not bad for a 65 year old ?
  18. McCombe at Doncaster for a vital 1-0 win in 2006 followed not long after by Orr at Carlisle. Think it secured a 3-1 win on a day we could have been promoted, and John Ruddy played in goal having been signed on loan 24 hours earlier. Absolute beauty of a goal curled in with his leg peg from the corner of the box I think to secure the win Goater at Watford. Shocking first touch from the half way line that was actually perfect as he ended up drawing the keeper out and slotted it past him Caulker at QPR. Equaliser in added on time in front of a packed away end. And more obscurely, a Grant Smith thunderbolt to win 1-0 at the Gas in a pre-season friendly!
  19. Your friends wife lived in his house for two years? Whatever next!
  20. Might have been me. He was working as a taxi driver and gave me a lift home from Lulsgate in 2015. Top man, happy to chat about his time at the Gate and how much he enjoyed it. But he did say he’d never been invited back despite living up in Redland since leaving us. As @GrahamCpoints out, he scored some vital goals for us and did a great job - think we might have signed him for £30k? Which was great business, particularly with God pulling up lame against Crewe in 89/90 and Morgan stepping in.
  21. Jermaine Easter! A player so good that he ended up at the Gas!
