  1. Interesting that the club contacted Geoff 20p to volunteer for Gould to come on SOTC rather than the club being approached for someone to come on. Timeframe uncertain but wonder if that has inconveniently crossed with developments in the Pearson role. With the result then that Gould is really hamstrung in what he can say. And couldn’t cancel the interview as would look defensive etc.

    Press

I’d always brielieve anything you say.
  3. Place in the Lansdown! If @CyderInACanis the new manager then you’ll be lacing up your boots and playing up front sunshine!
  4. Yep. Barnsley really dragging the level down.
  5. Can’t see that @GrahamChas said anything wrong here. Outmuscled in his first challenge on the pitch which set the tone for the rest of his 25 minutes on the pitch. He’s looking at his performance today objectively. BUT he’s clearly highly rated and hopefully has a bright future in the game, ideally in our red and white. It’s great to see the players coming through the academy and playing for the first team. Some will make it, some won’t. Would like to see Him get more game time so we can see properly what he can do. Same as the likes of Bell, Conway etc. COYR
  6. Great to finally win at home, but……!
  7. Just had a couple with @CyderInACan to celebrate the win, and gonna finish off a decent bottle of red later. Performance didn’t matter today - the result did. Hopefully the shackles will now be off and we can see some better performances that the team are capable of. COYR
  8. Come on City. Now is the day to finally get that long overdue home win. So the question is - what drink are you going to celebrate with (whether it’s today or the next home game etc)? Deserves something extra special. Im expecting @CyderInACanto be breaking out his brand new bottle of Devon rum for starters. (And changing his name to @ruminabottle as a result)
  9. With the winner coming in the 94th minute off Martin’s arse. COYR
  10. Went up to Barnsley in 2008/2009 to watch us. Horrible weather, horrible ground & area and horrible game - we drew 0-0 and barely had a shot. Dislike them ever since although given it’s grim oop north, I don’t know why I was surprised. be interesting to see what changes he makes in terms of surprises given the lack of players available to change it up. I hope Wells starts along with Alex Scot behind - maybe give Martin a rest. Hope Massengo is fit as he’s our best option in midfield to get on the ball and drive us forward. hopefully we’ll all be breaking out the champers come 5pm in celebration. COYR

    CSF

I’m getting from this that CSF stands for Carefully Saving Fans. There’s was me thinking it was a hooligan firm. Silly me.
  12. Bucs fan - started following 4 years ago when we were rubbish so at least I’m not a glory hunter! Managed to avoid the score all day yesterday so was pretty satisfying to see us win it with the last kick of the game last night! Definitely need to improve though - can’t be giving the ball away so easily and getting yellow flagged so often. should be a great season though - been looking forward to this ever since the super bowl ended!

Great work everyone! Having fallen out of love with running quite quickly during lockdown 1 and enjoying the gyms being open again, lockdown 3 has seen the enjoyment of running return! So far, I’ve clocked 40 miles for the month since the day of lockdown beginning. Having only sporadically run outdoors in months, I’m pretty chuffed with that. Not bothered about the speed at the moment, just getting miles into the legs and enjoying being able to get out and clear my head from the stresses of homeschooling etc. Ran up Bridge Valley for the first time ever yesterday. Boy, what was tough. I thought it was then pretty much flat down to the Bridge - how wrong I was. Going up the Promenade felt tougher than going up Bridge Valley! And loads of people around not socially distancing - very annoying. Did 7m - today’s been a rest day as aching all over! Target for the month is 100km - has been years since I’ve achieved that.

Great effort! Out of interest, what weight training workouts have you been doing? My knee doesn’t react too well to running more than 4 times a week but fancy a challenge to do stuff every day, especially as need to get rid of some festive weight I’m still carrying from Christmas 1989

Thought I’d compare Strava with Endomondo (which I used to use all the time) this morning to see if any difference in data. Strava clocked me at 4.46 miles whereas Endomondo said 4.32 miles. Average pace Per mile on Strava was 11:05 (yep, slow!!) and Endomondo was 11:49 (even slower ffs) despite starting and stopping them at the same time. Strava’s mile splits also seem out, as it says my 1st and 2nd miles were identical times, and the 3rd and 4th. BUT Strava says I burnt more calories. So I definitely prefer Strava ?

Yep, I went for a 2pm run yesterday afternoon and that was hot! No cloud cover but thankfully a bit of breeze. Took advantage of the metrobus not running to run someone of the south Bristol route. Nice and flat with a bit of countryside thrown in.

Does it give you accurate feedback about calories burned? I have to say that is one thing I want to keep an eye on, and not sure how accurate Strada etc are when tracking runs

Evening fellow ‘athletes’! Do any of you wear a heart rate monitor like a Myzone MZ3? Thinking of getting one and have had positive feedback about them from a mate, but wondered if any of you have one and/or whether you’d recommend?
  22. Unbelievable effort for such a deserving cause. Have donated. Well done Captain.
  23. Anyone watching the stream of last years game? 3-7 at moment but have a good feeling about this! Keeping an eye on Max Malins as well.
