Yep! Still at the Mundys, would say a lot has probably changed since you last been there, but frustratingly probably not much has…

Still plucking away though and the only way we can improve is by staying at this level and getting the odd large gate a season, whilst trying to improve the off the field.

Next year looks to be even trickier again, Hartpury, Malmsbury could be play off challengers. Corsham will have a hefty budget again no doubt and then you have Highworth, Slimbridge, Mangos and either RWB/Cinderford on top of Roman Glass and Worcester Raiders (who could also have a budget).

Cheers for the update, the last time I went there Tony Ford's brother Bob (?) was playing right back, mid to late 60's, they were in the Glos League and it was just like a park pitch, not even any pitch railings .

The alarm bells started for me when he was asked about watching our game before taking over, he said that he was out of the country so couldn't be at our game, then that weekend he was pictured at Brentford with his son

Didn't he go on holiday instead of taking pre-season ?

The majority seem to want Taylor gone, but what are they expecting any new bloke to come in and do? They have a full rebuild, and if there isn't any money they will be struggling next season, lose a few at the start and will all be Taylors fault because they want him gone, and then another one comes in and inherits the same mess.

The only way a lot of them will see any sense is if Taylor walks and says it how it is, and you can bet they will still say they are massive and will be on for promotion next season though.

Thats a shame, as I've said before ,seems a really decent, likeable bloke ( when could you say that about many incumbents before) That might be the problem, he doesn't fit the cretin's culture !

And yet after the first few games next season people will be on here moaning about how dull the football is. (That's what you signed up for remember).

    Not you personally MM.

I'm going to wait and see. Yes, I will lose my seat in the SS but I honestly can't take any more of the tedious football being  played.

Will still pick a few away games to go to, as I do enjoy a weekend away. If the boring football is gone or the perpetrator of it, I will probably get a half season ticket.

    Which half ?

That’s the same for me. If the people I go with decided to go to - eg  Forest Green - I’d be happy to go with them. The Ashton Gate experience nowadays doesn’t inspire me at all

What , and a piss poor non-league club with a smaller ground and fan base than the gash  would ?

  6. Oh well, that'll be agod send to the Tories and their subservient press it will surely know the spurious charges against Rayner off the front page  . I mean, that Fylde bloke ripping of the party funds is nothing compared to the shame of this!

But joking aside, they'd do well to steer clear of pinning your flag to the mast of a club, especially if it were a tight marginal..........not that there will be any left !

Just in case anyone wanted an update, Worcester won the league that night and the crowd was smashed at 570 through the door. A fair few Thornbarians in attendance but mostly Worcester fans.

Thornbury survived another season in the Hellenic Premier League, despite being the only team without a playing budget. Relying heavily on local lads playing for the club and youngsters from Cheltenham, Forest Green looking for men’s football. (Honestly, if you have a 16/17 year old at an academy, push them for a loan to step 4/5/6 football, they will progress much more than playing against other u18, then u21 players)

I may have mentioned it before but as a club we are years behind the majority of clubs in the area in respect to facilities and probably crippled ourselves by getting consecutive promotions to the Hellenic Prem, where all our money was then spent on meeting the ground requirements instead of growing off the pitch

Anyway, we’re slowly getting there and creating a ground/facilities that we can be proud of, but god it can be difficult!

Pleased to hear that Thornbury has survived (my birth place). Do they still play at the Munday playing fields ?

Not surprised to hear Worc brought a load down, they outnumbered Mangos earlier in the year.............they truly must be the Gash of the Hellenic !

Last night there was a very good documentary on TV about Pompeii on that my wife was watching. It talked about volcanoes and pyroclactic fumes. The only large amounts of gas seen last night.

Ironic, isn't it , a long dead civilisation covered in solidified lava STILL managed to get promoted last night before the Gash !
